I wanna play a new VR game I bought today but I'm scared to jack in to my Vive because another 10-second preorder wave will open up!

Eh, who am I kidding?

Edit: preorder button is back on Target lol. Wat.

Well, I mean when I clicked checkout now it loaded a webpage so I thought you could buy it anyway, I'm not paying for the extra garbage so I didn't see it it would go further than that on gs app.

I missed out on all the preorders and Target can suck a fat one, I had the thing in my cart at least 5 times and got kicked out on all of them.

I still somehow have my PAL SNES classic for now, though. I had planned on cancelling once I was able to get a US classic, but now it looks like chances are slim.

My experience. I have one reserved from amazon UK but I'm quite nervous it will never arrive.

Once I get a US preorder I'll likely cancel it or give it to my bro for Xmas.

I had it in my cart twice at target during the course of the day and still was not able to get one. Man why Nintendo always doing this it makes no sense

Hope you enjoy those puzzles.

I feel awful buying that crappy bundle. If I get another pre-order, it's getting canceled.

I had it in my Target cart what seemed like 10 different times throughout the day, but each time I went to actually place the order it was gone.

RECAP OF TODAY FOR THOSE JUST JOINING:

Best Buy and Amazon.com stealthily opened their reserves in the middle of the night.Their reserves were up for a really long time in comparison to the rest because everyone was asleep.

I'm still so mad at this.

There will be plenty more opportunities to purchase the SNES Classic both online and in-store.

People are acting like the entire run of the thing was allocated to today's pre-orders.

Just like people are acting like the demand and stock situation won't get worse closer to the holidays.

I'm not interested in playing script kiddie on a fucking Target page for another 3 hours just to get the blessing to give Nintendo my money. Fuck it.

I ended up nabbing 3 - one at Best Buy, Amazon and in store at GameStop. The look on the GameStop employee faces as the line went out the door was one of utter defeat. And the phones lol, I was there for 50 minutes and it literally NEVER stopped ringing.

UPDATED RECAP:

RECAP OF TODAY FOR THOSE JUST JOINING/VIEWING THIS THREAD FOR A PRAYER/BEACON OF HOPE:

BestBuy.com and Amazon.com opened their reserves in the middle of the night. Their reserves were up for a really long time in comparison to the rest because everyone was asleep.

Walmart.com opened reserves for 5 seconds [no joke] before selling out.

Target.com apparently was opening reserves in waves and there's a in-browser command you can use to spam the pre-order button, which then added to cart and may or may not still be there by the time you actually get to checkout. People have had success, others have not. I myself have been cart-jacked 7 times. The pre-order button now has disappeared and has been replaced with "Coming Soon" like Best Buy's site. Some people have reported that their orders have been cancelled if they were placed 45 mins prior to 3:20pm PST

GameStop.com opened reserves online, sold out within 30 seconds or so before their site crashed, crash landing page redirected users to ThinkGeek.

ThinkGeek.com had consoles available but only in Bundles. Bundles came with useless shit with prices ranging from 139 all the way up to 300+

GameStop stores opened reserves and each location has an EXTREMELY limited allotment [average is about 10 per store]. Physical stores still have some up from what people are posting but only 1-2 per store from what I've seen. I managed to reserve mine at a physical location.

Toys R Us announced via Twitter that they will NOT be doing online reserves and it will be a first-come-first serve basis on the day of release. They don't give a fuck about human lives.

Hope this helps anyone trying to catch up. All of the above aside from BB and Amazon happened from 9am PST to about 2pm PST

The thread name was changed to mimic the actual events of today.

As of this writing, GameStop Bundles are currently the only way to reserve one other than the launch-day Toys R Us armageddon.

Good luck everyone.

Knowing Nintendo, it's better to assume today was the easiest day to acquire one.

I bought a bundle with two shitty wireless controllers and a book for $180. Such a scam, at least let me pick my bundled items. I would be ok with it if they said, you can have a SNES, but you have to spend another $100. But giving me overpriced junk, fuck you gamestop.

Why cant Nintendo just make one of the plug and play things that plays NES to N64 and just make that year round. Call it the Nintendo Retro sell it for $100. But that is the smart move...

Uh, do you not know how the NES classic launch/second shipments went? It wasn't pretty...
I'll bet this one has more frequent or larger shipments though. They still want to cause a frenzy, but I think they want to sell more units this year. Plus the profit margin has to be bigger since these are $20 more MSRP. They are looking to make bank on these things

Nintendo needs new management. I can't believe that people who want to give money to Nintendo can't for either a SNES mini or Nintendo Switch. Not to mention that we are 5 months into the Switch and there is no sign of the virtual console where we should be playing these games. Management needs to stop twittling their thumbs and making excuses. This is laughable. They have hit products but can't get it together. People are going to stop caring or may have already.

The problem is, if the rest of the restocks sell out as quickly as the initial shipments did today, that doesn't really help things. Unless you're online at the exact moment the pre-orders hit, and can enter all of your information within the 1-2 minute (generally, this is the limit) period, you're SOL. After the NES Classic Mini and their restocks, I doubt the SNES Classic Mini will be any easier to obtain. Actually, it might be more difficult, since the SNES is a favorite console for many and everyone (gamers and non-gamers alike) are after it, since it's the "hot item".

Personally, I don't trust Nintendo to make these readily available, so here I shall remain, hitting my F5 key.

lol "they are looking to make bank on these things" This shitshow of preorders tells me otherwise.

They're going to do the same thing they did last year "Oh man guys, totally didn't expect the snes classic to be so popular! We'll produce two more units and call it good, don't you guys worry we'll meet the demand. Scouts honor!"

And I -yet again- won't get one. Didn't get an NES classic, won't get the SNES classic either. I'll be legit shocked if I do.

The problem with Shao Kahn is not that he got multiple orders but the way he showed it off and how it seemed like he was throwing it in people's faces. IMO, and if he didn't intend to, it made him seem like he was purposely being an asshole and laughing at people. Like, why do that unless you specifically wanted to laugh at and make people feel bad?

Personally, I already got one at GameStop but I feel for people that didn't. I remember the NES bullshit last year.

That reminds me of this one time in a toy figure forum, this guy drove around all the Toys R Us around him to pick up this exclusive Transformer and then went onto the forum and tried to sell it. Jacked up the price and told people it was to pay for his gas also. Needless to say, he got shown out.

Ohhhhh so that's why Shao Khan's numbers were so weird. He's Canadian!

Could you link the Borderfree Target store?

Thank god toysrus isn't doing this then cause I know exactly which one I'm going to when this launches. I'd be basically guaranteed one.
Still this is bullshit though

Lucky you, I have two near me both in some of the busiest parts of my city. I am not going to get one, I can't drive anyway.

I sincerely hope you're able to get one, despite how salty I am right now.

This is on the Best Buy product page:

Compatible to all Classic Controllers

The Super NES Classic Edition is compatible with the Classic Controller and
Classic Controller Pro accessories. Just plug it in and play!

Haven't owned a Nintendo console in a long time so maybe a dumb question, but what's a Classic Controller Pro? Is that the Wii U pro controller?
