New Build of DBZF is trash. I'm off the hype train till they change the game. They removed a huge comboing mechanic from the E3 build and nerfed super damage to worse than MvCi levels. Literally matches will last 5 minutes because nothing does any damage. Game will be DOA in this state. Too many limitations. E3 build was amazing, this one might as well be a Xenoverse.
This hyperbolic statement is laughable. This game is never going to be Xenoverse tier.

Anyway the game isn't coming our until February and we still have a beta. Things are still in flux.

The easier response would just be "Arksys loketests are always Wild Ride caliber; just chill, because they have like 5+ tests and two betas left in them."

They should make a separate, smaller scale Evo just for Smash while keeping 9 games for actual Evo. That would make everybody happy.

IIRC Evo staff already said that is not possible and would just waste more resources, I'm paraphrasing here. I don't think it's a meme. Enough of them keep saying stupid shit for a long period of time that it's kind of obvious they don't want to be a part of it unless it's how they run theirs no matter what, i.e. 3 out of 5 games throughout. At some point there really needs to be a split.

Agreed on all counts. It's ZTS though...hes usually fairly all or nothing and his posts are more about passion than anything else. At least it highlights how big a deal damage and combos are to some of us to maybe draw attention to things. I'm sure asw will mitigate damage levels along the way accordingly in both directions off and on to gauge preferences overall.

Passion? Zts is a drama queen and overly negative about anything that isn't Tekken. Let's be real.

Yeah, and it's not just EVO. CEO had pretty big drops in attendance from Melee players too this year.

As someone who was more in the Smash 4 community the last 2 years, yeah I definitely saw a lot of that. It sucks that a lot of them are honestly some vocal morons who say shit like "We don't need EVO".

Since Kadey is banned, can somebody here explain to me this Fubar thing? I've been on and off this thread for years now and never understood if she has a relationship with Ryan Harvey or if this is an unrequited love, or is this a different Fubar? Also, is it true she went on a date with MarkMan?

Probably not something you would talk about in thread

First of all, just because she is banned doesn't mean she can't see this post of yours.

Secondly, you couldn't have just asked her this yourself (like via PM)?

itd be easier to make a thread about it. I got the title right here:

"FG gaffer makes racist remark. Proof that the fgc is still the cespool of internet gaming inside"
Anybody that deserves a public shaming will most certainly get one of my threads. Kadey isn't one of them.

Don't think that's anyone's business, but hers.

Could you go into more detail? Perhaps compare the two builds in finer details.

First big change is pretty easy to explain, supers do shit damage now. Even in the E3 build they were pretty weak, you could spend 7 bars in a combo with two level 3s and not kill a character, and that was THE E3 BUILD, the scalling is way worse in the gamescon build.

The second and bigger one was the removal of DBFZ's dragon rush combo extender. How it worked in the E3 build is you have this move called "Vanish", Vanish for the cost of a bar would wall bounce your opponent off the wall at any point. Early on people thought that shit was useless cause you can't reach the opponent after the wall bounce to follow up. This is because once you leave the ground you only have one homing dash and to convert off your launcher you need to use it. Then people figured out that because dragon rush dashed a little you could replace where you would have homing dashed with a dragon rush and extend the combo.

Now that's all gone. Dragon Rush when you try to combo it will just know them to the ground with no ability follow up. Vanish now has become useless as a combo extender for aerial combos. I literally would be okay with this if Vanish reset your homing dash instead now which would allow you to follow up but that's not the case. The big issue is they removed a mechanic that allowed for more combo freedom and did put anything in its place.

That combined with the weakened supers and you got a game where takes forever to kill just one character and most combos have been reduced back to

ABC homing dash BB double jump BB Special Super.

That shit isn't gonna fly in a real competitive game. People are going to get bored of playing and watching it real fast.
I'm voicing my concerns now so something can be done. I can see the path this game is on and it's not good for long term competitive play.

Damn, that's disappointing. Hopefully they are just experimenting and will revert or do something else.

Spending 5 bars to do 45% is lol
You're proving my point. Look at those combos, they are super basic and cost a shit ton of meter and do butt damage.
Literally every combo was ABC wallbounce homing dash BB double jump BB vanish level 3 in some sort of small variation. Not good.

Idk how much ASW you play, but it's p normal for there to be very basic combo tools like this in them that scale like ass but at least make something cool on the screen happen. It's hard to judge what combos actually are in their games until shit gets really out there.

Max is probably using the combo tools that they put in there deliberately to make people like Max do cool things on the screen.

Yeah except those a 1v1 games without grey life. If it was 1v1 I could understand but it's 3v3. You can't be taking 3 hits and 5 bars to kill one character. Add grey health recovery, the fact that Sparking Blasts healing is OD and you got a recipe for xTekken levels of long drawn out matches.

what does this mean?

What I'm saying is there's a good chance that what Max is dong is hilariously suboptimal and it will more than likely be a 1-2 hit death type game knowing how ASW does their shit. There are probably tons of combo tools in there people don't even know about yet because they only get limited time and do the basically autocombo tier tools and feel good about it.

what does this mean?

ASW puts in combo tools that aren't super strong but are easy to do so more casual players can feel good about hitting somebody. Willing to bet money Max is just using those tools rather than what real routes will look like.

I mean, say what you will about Max but is game ain't bad. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to pull shit off

I've never seen Max play an anime tier game and do a real combo. Even in UMvC3 I never saw him go close to optimal and he didn't even always finish basic BnBs. I'm calling it like I see it, he's not going to be the type of player to bust out a real combo on day -200. I wouldn't expect it on actual day 200 either though.

Got nothing against the guy, bu the's the exact target of "people who are interested enough to try but not enough to training mode" that these mechanics exist for.

Oh yea, my b. Read that wrong.

Seems like shots for no reason. I remember him going to wnf and placing in mvc3 ages ago.

I mean I guess he can't dedicate himself to one game because of the content the produces, but I think he's actually good at most and would be legit if he put in time.
