Favorite: Cid Kramer - felt like a good balanced Cid character, mentor and ultimate martyr for a good cause.

Least: Cidolfus - no personality, seemingly randomly thrown into the game

FFXII Cid was underdeveloped but had the potential to be the absolute best Cid. By far.

A great character overall and as a kid, it blew my mind how Cid Highwind "transcended" into this headmaster :lol

Worst: FFXV Cid. Literally no affection, couldn't give a flying fuck about him being best buddies or w/e with Nocts dad.

Favorite: Final Fantasy VII and IV.

Least: never played any FF past 10. And found the rest not bad. And I don't actually remember 10 much since I rememebe not liking it much as a kid

Fav: FF3 or 4 Cid. Actually am fine with all before X really.
(XIV Cid has moments, but I hate his design aesthetic.)

Least: X or XIII.

Final Fantasy VII's Cid Highwind is easily my favorite. He's not much of a standout character, honestly, he just manages to beat out the other Cids.

Final Fantasy XIII's melodramatically written Cid Raines is easily my least favorite. Suffers for the same degree of hackneyed writing and woefully half-baked story as the worst members of the rest of the cast.

FF11's cid is the most attractive, yet the FF14 cid is the coolest. Very Hard to choose.

I love FF15 but Cid is so boring, Cidney shouldve just been an actual sexbent incarnation of him.

I really love XII's Cidolfus design, he would be one of my favorite characters in the series if it wasn't for the nonsense gibberish towards the end.

VII's Cid Highwind is probably the most remarkable one. As for the worst one, I remember disliking VII's a lot, but I honestly don't remember a thing about him other than having a crush on Edea.

My favorite is III's. I think he captures the essence of "Cid" very well.

Least favorite is XIII's. He's everything that's wrong with the franchise right now. Cool concept, but he has zero depth and ends up being thrown away like trash.

I would go with FFT Cid too if that counts, and FF7 Cid if it doesn't for my favorite.

The worst is probably 13. Wasn't he the one they killed without telling the FMV artists so they had to bring him back for a cutscene and then kill him again off screen? That's all i remember of him. Just a disaster all around.

Cid to me is the quirky gearhead bro that comes in at all the right times. seems like after FF7 they kind of abandoned that and just slapped the name on whoever, even though they return to the concept now and again

FF7 cid was probably the most realized one, and the most hilarious, if that matters.

TG Cid is the best. Worst, maybe 15's I don't remember him doing much. I never played enough of 11 to meet that game's Cid though.

edit: Never managed to stomach 13 enough to get to that game's Cid.

Best:
IX's Cid got turned into a frog so he's automatically top tier. XII's Cid is so over the top and amazing. XIV is probably my least favorite FF but it's Cid is probably the only character I like in it and is interesting.

Worst:
VII's Cid is a verbally abusive asshole and I never felt like the game properly calls out that his behavior is wrong. He only stops treating her better once he finds out

. If Shera had truly been wrong it comes off as if he would have still treated her like shit in the end to me.
And before anyone comes in with b-but I love Cid and you're wrong!!! It's literally just an opinion.
VIII's Cid really came off annoyingly incompetent throughout the game. I don't understand how a dude who passes off all his responsibilities on a 17 year old ran Garden and was able to get with someone like Edea.

I was gunna say FFIX Cid just cause he's hilarious, but I can't deny The Thundergod. First real run through of the game I was struggling damn near every fight, then I got Cid and consequences were never the same.

Worst Cid is XV. By far.

Of the ones I've played:

VII's Cid is the template for me. He's the one I immediately think of when someone mentions Cid. The OG, for me.

Headmaster Cid was a nice character, but an absolute 180 in terms of Cidification for me. A bit jarring. I do like the character though, and his role in the story.

Al-Cid was...plain. He fit the Cid profile, but didn't feel like he made much of a presence in the story. Most memorable scene is when Home is being destroyed and he's got a case of texture-face going on.

I don't like XII, so I have no idea if I even got that far.

XIII's Cid was - like most characters in the game - completely unlikeable and motivations utterly incomprehensible. Definite worst.

XV's Cid is alright. He fits the mold, has decent presence in the story. He's alright. Nothing noteworthy, just alright.

Least favorite: 9 , i forgot he even existed

FFXII has the best Cid in the main series imo. He's a really fun character with great dialogue and fantastic voice acting. I also quite like VII, VIII and IX Cids.

Haven't played enough of Tactics to see that particular Cid, sadly. Maybe someday.

Least favourite? Probably XIII.

I know no Cid but the Thundergod of Ivalice, who's names is Orlandeau.

Though FF XII Cid is a close second. Found myself agreeing with his aims, if not his methods. And it his boss fight was fun.

FF XIII Cid is easily the worst. The common complaint against him is that he's just kinda ‘there' never really amounting to anything. I say he doesn't even meet that low as bar. He's barely a character. I'm pretty sure Hope's dad gets more screen time and plot relevance than Cid.
