Yeah, I thought it was strange too... both Warriors series and the FE source allow for characters to use more than one weapon type, so I dunno why they went with this. Allowing characters to have multiple weapon types would have also alleviated some lopsided weapon representation too. (...probably)

Agreed. Cordelia was one of my favorite characters in Awakening. I know Tharja will make it in but I would also like to see Noire in some form in the game as she was a fucking beast in Awakening and her interactions with her mother were great.

Personally its not that I don't care for them, as I love pretty much any Fire Emblem I play. My general hate is only in the fact that this game isn't doing anything with the older titles besides stuff like Marth. Otherwise, this game is something I cannot wait for.

I dont think so because what is the point of changing classes if not to change the moveset/weapon. Even if they have the same weapon when they change class the moves/gameplay can be different.

Wonder if this means we're going to get a character trailers #2 next week that will showcase the Fates characters before we get character trailer #3 that will probably showcase Marth, the two OCs and hopefully some characters from his game (or possibly from other FE games just so that we don't have to limit ourselves to just three sets of games).

At least the decisions around this game still aren't as baffling as those around what SMTxFE ultimately became (#FE).

Nothing I've heard about #FE was particularly bad but I'm certain it was something absolutely no one envisioned when it was first announced.

It'd be like if this game was announced as Fire Emblem Warriors then the resulting product featured Lu Bu wielding Gradivus and Cao Cao with the Falchion.

#FE annoyed me because even the supposed "fanservice" there was really inconsistent. How do you feature Caeda as a main cast member and never bring up how she gets a bunch of people to join your party in Shadow Dragon (even outright fooling one of them into joining with a false promise)? Rather than that, somehow she was supposed to be innocent regarding relationships. So, not only her design was off, so was her personality. It's basically Caeda in name only.

If there's going to be any announcement regarding characters from other games in the core cast, I'd guess the only chance would be that last day of TGS, where there's going to be an event all around an announcement (a previous day also apparently might have separate announcements too, but it's clear the last one would be higher profile).

I imagine it was so they could include more characters from the represented series. Like if it was all of them you would have so many characters to pull from that that your likley to only get certain "major" characters.

We probably wouldn't have gotten ALL the Fates royals for example. While I'm sure there's a lot of you going "You say that like it's a bad thing" but as someone who likes Fates and its characters I'm glad to see them.

I do hope the other games get good representation in the DLC/sequel though.

Awakening and Fates have a different target audience than older FE. It's not hate, it's simply accepting those games aren't made for me. And that's ok.

Yes, they are clones. Only Male Robin & Female Corrin are playable in the story mode.

Because this game is launching on 3DS and Switch simultaneously and no new Nintendo platform is likely to be introduced in the immediate future, I hope the DLC we get can somehow compare to what we ended up cumulatively getting between HW DLC, HWL new content, and HWL DLC. Though HW's base DLC was impressive on its own, I'd really like for the FEW DLC to cover a significant number of missing titles like HWL ended up doing. I don't sense a sequel being inevitable (I suspect a Hyrule Warriors sequel or new IP crossover is the most likely next Nintendo Musou), so I'd like them to cover as much as possible with this game.

I'd be shocked and wonder what what's going through their heads. On a personal note I liked Cordelia, Panne, Henry, Donnell and others over Tharja. Enjoyed the character but I never understood why she of all characters became a huge fan favorite. So I don't really care that much if Tharja is in the game.
