More than this game, which is a RIP now, it's the fact that we lose Mane for 3 games for that shit bit of refereeing.

Doesn't hurt us that much tbh, just play Mane in the Champions League and Salah will play in the League (Woodburn can play in the league cup).

I'll take it.

If it's truly not a red it'll get rescinded, I'm fully expecting it to stand.

Mane's actions and the height of his boot were completely reasonable. Players raise their leg that high a dozen times a game. It's not really his fault that the keeper was flying out of his box at the same time while Mane was staring at the ball.

Punishing the result and not the action.
How many people said this when nani got sent off against Madrid I wonder.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
If this was any other team with that challenge it would be challenged.

Yeah Mane's foot was high and yes he hit the goalkeepers head, you don't see those as red cards in games when both players are trying to get the ball.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

That's a very weak argument.

Because if you break someone skull even without intent does it mean it's a red card also?
It's not a weak argument at all.

The example you used was an accidental clash of heads. Everyone should know by now that high feet always come with red card risk. Fact

Red card won't be rescinded. Fact.

Yeah, but it doesn't need to be an automatic red. Could have been given a yellow given where the ball was and the circumstance of Mane running out to go one on one, plus not expecting Ederson to have been preemptively ran out far to clear.

The referee gave the keeper too much protection.

yeah this is what i feel

it's more dangerous than the initial view in motion made it seem which most people were upset at, but not as awful as the single frame shown in that screecap looks.

If that was a high boot from Cahill instead of a header, then yes. In this case both players are challenging for the ball in a legitimate way, Mané wasn't.

Tbf your initial post was that Mane tried to take his head off which is bollocks cos it suggests it was deliberate. It clearly wasn't.

On replay, I agree that it's a red though. I never realised there was contact.

Although I am furious with the decision, I do hope Ederson is ok. I don't want to see players injured and I hope he recovers in time for Cities next game.

No, I'm a Liverpool fan and it was a red card all day long.

I know you are Moc and you know me, I've just seen those challenges before and barely seen a red card so I'm angry at Mane getting sent off.

I have said in the name of the law the ref can send a player off for a dangerous challenge, which in isolation it is but I don't feel this decision isn consistent with previous ones.

I don't think you can judge intent one way or the other. In my view, it was reckless and naïve, even if unintentional.

Hope Ederson is okay, looked like it hurt.

Oh well, I'd say use the opportunity to give Ox a run out while all is lost anyway. Curious to see how Klopp sets us up now.

On the replay now on Sky they show the keeper moving immediately after so hopefully he was just staying still and didn't go out for the count.
