so we got a cool teaser, MonHun release date and a bunch of already announced stuff

I simply cannot believe I missed my daughter's first day of primary school and got into a huge fight with the wife just so I could stay and watch this shit...
Please tell us you didn't really do this. This is horrible.

This is just... odd. It's not even E3 or anything (though even than it would be a huge stretch), it's fucking TGS, did you really miss your daughter's first day for this shit? What is wrong with you?

I don't know you personally obviously but even based on this post you should improve your parenting skills significantly, your daughter is above everything, especially above a mediocre TGS conference show :/

I wanted to complain but then I took a blobbers in the knee.

I thought the conference was good, tons of games shown and announced.

- New Monster Hunter trailer
- Left Alive looked interesting
- FF9, Dragons Crown coming to PS4
- Zone of Enders
- 2 Earth Defense Force games
- New Gundam Game
- 13 Sentinels looked good
- A new Ni No Kuni trailer
- Shadow of the Colossus looked amazing
- Dissida Final Fantasy
- New Virtua On
- Dynasty Warriors looked great
- New Fist of the North Star title
- New Super Massive game Hidden Agenda
- A bunch of new VR titles

They may not have had a bunch of new games but what they showed is a pretty solid line up imo.

Yup Cmagus, I liked the content in that conference.

Man, PSX is making every other Sony conference look so worthless... i don't like this new approach.

Eh. Sounds like jumping to conclusions after one E3 after two all-time great E3s in a row. Even that E3 had some good big announcements (like Shadow and MHW) and the Spider-Man first real gameplay among the non-surprising rest of the update trailers for the other upcoming first party titles.

This was a pretty typical, maybe even better than average, TGS and TGS doesn't usually really share much content with E3 or PSX.

This was announced a few weeks ago at a livestream by the Yakuza devs where they announced Kiwami 2, RGG online and this game: Hokuto ga Gotoku. They just showed more footage at the presser, and will probably show even more at their booth/livestream during TGS.

This conference sucked so hard that this is the 'highlight' of the thread.

If it's real I'm just imagining the argument

"You do know this is one of those moments you get to live for once, to see our little girl on her first steps to independence, to learn about the world"

"BUT DANTE-KUN!"

This was Sony's conference at an Asian game show. I can see why the stuff they showed isn't appealing to people who aren't into that kind of thing.

I really liked seeing ZOE, Ni no Kuni 2, 13 Sentinels, Virtual On, Hokuto no Ken x Yakuza, and other really Asian stuff.

I'm not sure why people thought this would be the place to see Devil May Cry, Last of Us 2, and other franchises that are really more popular in the west...

Better than last year's TGS at least. Might be a couple more announcements during the actual TGS show.

As soon as people accept that DMC isn't happening they might enjoy conferences again.

And when it gets announced it'll be a nice surprise. But people like being disappointed i guess

Nah, people always watch conferences hoping for 'megaton' announcements. THe other stuff is nice, but those kind of announcements actually generate hype.

What's the difference between that and Versus?

I'm not too familiar with Versus and can't really compare the two, sorry :s
The first one was F2P tho and i guess the new one will be too, so you can check it out for yourself

Nah, people always watch conferences hoping for 'megaton' announcements.

That too of course. That's a mindset that really has to change especially with the "B-Tier" shows.

Didnt watch the conference, but when people talk about a new Virtual On, do they truly mean a new game or that anime crossover crap?
Because that's not Virtual On.

The gameplay looks very much like VO and it looks really solid. Not sure why you people are really against anime.

Is it really the case that people think that Devil May Cry isn't popular in Japan at all for some reason? An assessment such as this would make more sense for something like Dead Rising. Either way, I'd say that expecting a new one to show up at PSX is just as much wishful thinking.

I simply cannot believe that you still have family.

Lol, I didn't even know this was going on 😛 . At this point, I only concern myself with E3 and PSX. Not even Gamescom holds my interest.

Pretty solid conference Sony, will watch again next year!

Lol @ missing daughters first day at school, if it's real, why would you not just watch the show later, it's not like it would vanish into the abyss of the internet?

Yea, need clarification on that, because according to that section:

Detroit
13 Sentinel
Fist of North Star

aren't PS4 exclusive.
Sony are publishing Detroit themselves much like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls before it, so pretty sure those aren't going anywhere else.

The fact that they shipped it off to a western developer last time around proves that they were trying to target it more towards foreigners. Whether it was successful or not is something else of course.

If it was a MEGA HIT in Japan like it used to be they would have kept it close to their chest and continued to develop it in Japan for Japanese audiences.

I'm sure any of the virtual girls in that VR game are much more understanding regarding one's availability on days of video game conferences...just sayin'

And DmC failed to be anywhere near as successful as DMC4 before it, which was and still is the best-selling game in the franchise. It's long since been established that there was no logical sense behind that reboot, much like the rest of Capcom's obsession with appealing to the West during the seventh gen.
