Flat design is everywhere now. Once Apple embraced it with iOS 7 it became the new cool thing to do.

Well the new logo has been ruined for me. I already preferred the old one, but this is distracting.

I'm kind of tired of the trend of new logo's looking plain, sharp, and minimalist.

Have no preference either way here, my favourite would be the red font one used in Spyro 3 because of nostalgia. The newer ones are all just average logo stuff.

To chime in a bit more:

I genuinely think it's a great logo. Great font, color and implementation of the moons is clever and very well done. However, their previous logo just oozed character so I can see why people don't like it. I don't see it as a downgrade at all though, just different.
