Looks cool. Awful music though.

I never liked Jon Berenthal -- he looks too clean (which fits the MCU look). He doesn't have that gruff you'd except from The Punisher.

The trailer was alright. Nice use of heavy metal but the action pieces were... not good from the clips shown. Looked John Wick-lite. Plot seems to be find evil government guys who wanted to kill me but got my family instead, payback's a bitch, and I'm just an anti-hero stopping bad guys.

I suspect this is gonna be around Defender's tier of quality.

Besides DD, this is the only Netflix Marvel show I'm hyped to see. I have JJ, Luke Cage, Defenders on my list but just not a huge amount of interest in diving in.

Jon Berenthal too clean?! I thought I heard the limit of ridiculous shit with One being a bad song. Now Berenthal is too clean-cut? He can't even enunciate his words properly.

I haven't seen Iron Fist or Defenders, but I thought all the Netflix stuff other than Daredevil S1 and S2 (Punisher parts) was really bad. I'm excited for this though, the trailer looks great.

Sorry, I'm with Papa on this one.

I think Daredevil S2 is the best season of Netflix Marvel. While I enjoyed the Punisher stuff more, I had no issues with the Hand/Elektra stuff.

Also, a hot take: only Iron Fist is bad. Every other season of Netflix Marvel is either good or great, usually with a poor episode or two.

S2 of DD is the best season they've done.

I think Iron fist was better than LK and better than the back half of JJ.

I despised Diamondback so much.

For a minute it looked like we had the release date but that was just 2017. Do we at least know how many episodes it will have?

And for some reason I always thought his family was murdered while he wasn't at home, but he actually is huh. Are they following the original comic book story with this?

It's 12 episodes, the Marvel Netflix standard.

And as was already pointed out to me in the thread, the scene with Frank's wife getting shot at home is almost certainly a dream of some kind. DD S2 made a point of explaining that on account of Frank's head injury, he continually lives out the moment his family died, putting him in a constant state of continual trauma.

Ok thanks for letting me know. So the actual murder takes places somewhere totally different than his house and that theme park ride place? I have never read the comics and know very little about the character other than what Daredevil showed.

Daredevil S2 Punisher arc
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage 1st half
Daredevil S2 Hand arc
Luke Cage 2nd half
Defenders
Iron Fist

I thought the Defenders was not that good.

Daredevil, S2 directly mentioned that all of Frank's family were gunned down in the park, at the carousel when Frank's daughters were on the ride.

This looks great. Bernthal was so good in season 2 of Daredevil. I am beyond stoked for this. I'm still expecting a late October release date for it. Maybe November at the very, very latest. Seems like a perfect show to watch over Halloween weekend.

MARVEL NETFLIX BINGO!

Pick three of the following as predictions for Marvel's upcoming Punisher series. If you get all three correct, you win a prize!

1. A character will once again make a passing reference to "The Incident".
2. There will be a scene where a gang of criminals meet in a dimly-lit warehouse.
3. The central antagonist will be abruptly murdered by another character at some point in the series, only to be immediately seceded by that character as the main villain.
4. There will be a sweeping shot of the New York skyline, directly showcasing the Met-Life building, rendering Avengers Tower once again jarringly absent from the view.
5. To establish himself as a threat, the main antagonist will do something shockingly violent and gruesome to a henchman (eg. decapitate him, push him out a window)
6. We'll be treated to a direct close-up shot of an edition of "The New York Post", complete with a story related front headline.
7.There will be an elaborate fight sequence set entirely within the confines of a hallway, as captured in one, uncut take.
8. Someone will specifically make one of the following oblique references to a Marvel superhero: "the hammer guy/dude", "the guy/dude with the shield", "the big green guy/dude".
9. Claire Temple will magically show up and make a sarcastic remark whilst healing Frank's wounds.
10. The opening intro will utilize a distinctly urban motif as a means of creating a visual metaphor that will sum up the thematic backbone of the show.
