Xbox One Backwards Compatible lOT2l: Who would want to play these games?

I also had 20 BC updates waiting to be installed tonight. Adding to the list...

A Wrold of Keflings
Alien Hominid
Battleblock Theater
Prince of Persia
Toy Soldiers: Cold War

Looks like they have a new base/minimum build. They did this last June too. Most games will likely perform exactly the same, but given over a year's worth of fixes and optimizations you should see at least a few games performing marginally better.

I reckon by now the emulator can run everything. It’s just a question of optimisation on a per title basis.

Odds are they're close enough that they could just push everything and it would generally all be acceptable quality, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some inaccuracies and crashes that could crop up here and there among currently unreleased titles.

I think at this point though the biggest time-sink is just having to go through testing. The team is likely much smaller than the general Xbox Certification team, and may have stricter standards (cert testing for new, non-bc games is basically "does it break the console or perform 'illegal' operations", BC testing requires 1:1 accuracy to the original release at minimum).

Fable Anniversary was such a weird project.

Port Fable... to another engine.. in the twilight year of the 360.. and also port it to PC.. but not to the new console.

I'm surprised we haven't seen OG Xbox BC in at least the Alpha insider build yet. I imagine it's part of the final retail release of the new update, so there isn't a whole lot of time left to test that stuff out.

So it looks like the current wave of updates is almost exclusively XBLA games. Guessing they’re burning through the titles with the shortest expected test periods?

So how come every time I try playing on any of the DLC maps for BF3, I load in with huge amounts of graphical errors and bugs? Missing/blue textures, etc.

Is there any fix for this, or is it a problem with the emulation?

Seems to be a problem with the emulation. I tweeted Bill Stillwell about it, and he said that they will investigate it.

He also recommend to contact Xbox Support so they can collect data on the graphical errors.

Interesting. Been keeping a list of current emulator build number of the various BC games I own, and I noticed the games from the last couple update waves were also the first to be updated to the June 2016 build when they went and updated everything last summer. It's not perfectly 1:1, but pretty damn close. Pretty much just running through them all in order then.

I hope so! Otherwise you think it's just all the Halo games made BC?

I think we have 3 very obvious options, and then one third party wildcard.

1.) Halo games going BC.

2.) Fable: Anniversary going BC.

3.) OG Xbox BC.

4.) One of the CoD: MW games is going BC.

1 & 3 are most likely since they've been promised to release this year.

1 & 2 are both likely because they're both confirmed to be in the works, would be big hits for the 360 BC program, and fit the theme for a BC drop. I don't count 3 for this part because I feel we would've gotten a date beforehand, unless they're announcing a list of games today and an official launch date as well, with preview members receiving access at some point within the next week.

4 Is one of the biggest third party games that are heavily requested.

Would be nice if it's the OG Xbox BC. But yeah the Halo stuff seems more likely

Actually sounds like it'll probably be OG Xbox stuff, unless they're doing testing again like they did with Halo Wars?

Oh man I can't wait to see this! Don't think the kids will be kind enough for me to kick them off the TV right now lol

edit: I'm fine with Halo games, but as we're approaching the end of the year I really hope to see OG Xbox titles soon.

Time to go back and finish ODST achievements then? I already have 100% on Halo 3/4 and don't really want to go back when we have MCC.

EDIT: CE too! I never finished the Anniversary on Legendary actually :D

They should’ve just made MCC a game with gold next month and at least tried to inject some life into it. What a deflating announcement.

Would be nice if 1 and 2 were OG Xbox BC too.

I have no doubt that they will bring that with OG Xbox BC, but it won't have MP.

Speaking of OG Xbox BC... I really wonder when that will start to happen.

Doesn't DLC take a little while to pop? Only 1 map pack is showing for Halo 3.

It sometimes can take more than a day. I waited forever for Halo Reach's DLC, but I don't know if that's because of regions or not.
