Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite |OT| Marvel vs. Capcom: 4 Female Characters

Why does the single player portion not teach Counter Switching. It sounds like a pretty damn important mechanic and they never mention it, but that's okay let's teach mission mode combo's that are the most unoptimized shit ever conceived.

SFXT restricted tags to meter and it had a bit more restrictions as to how you could use it. In this game, in the air (super jump, regular jump, short hop, during dashes/air dashes/teleports), during hypers, during block stun, during hit stun you can tag. And Marvel has crazier moves that put a greater strain on the tag system than SFXT ever could.

It's not about how does it first, it's about how does it the best.

Jesus fuck hawkeye's mission 10 is rage inducing bullshit. Lets randomly have hawkeye tag in to the other side and fuck up everything

Reality surge basically feels like this game's hidden missiles. Seems to make just about everything safe and really breaks the flow of matches. I'm not sure if it's really OP, but its the biggest hype killer for me in these early day matches.

That was one big problem I had with the mission mode. Like, it's fine to miss stuff, but man they miss the weirdest junk.

Doesn't teach about tech rolling, wave dashing, the properties of the fly mechanics, or even how a combo is structured really. Capcom really doesn't give a fuck.

I enjoyed SFV, but it ended up being a bit too "back to basics" and I lost interest the past 5 months.

A few days into Marvel and it seems like the tag mechanic will create endless possibilities as new characters come. I'm not a fan of the base roster or art style, but damn is it fun and it feels like it'll have legs.

If their goal was to be welcoming to beginners, they failed extremely hard with this game.

"NO! Untrue! Look! We let you auto combo now by mashing LP, we got rid of dreaded SRK/Z-motion moves, and now you automatically jump when performing a launcher! This is the most accessible fighting game ever ™!" -Random Capcom Producer

I'm still amazed at how they changed Ghost Rider's Spirit of Vengeance hyper (the one where he gets on his bike and ghost rides the whip) from being such a lackluster combo-ender in Ultimate, to being this godlike nearly unstoppable hyper here in Infinite where you can just start doing doughnuts and shit. It's nuts! So happy that Ghost Rider is viable, at least for now.

The sad thing is,
Ultron Omega
has an attack that would have been absolutely perfect for teaching Counter Switching. You know, the really long grab of his? Make that give a lot of meter to the victim and have the game flat out say "Use Counter Switch to attack before he can finish his attack!"

Any point to Franks heavy version of the camera? Just seems like it takes longer.

I haven't messed with it but there really doesn't seem to be lol. No real point in delaying a picture to my knowledge... Like, there certainly wouldn't have been a reason for that in Ultimate.

im having a hard time understanding the fundamentals of the combos in game. I keep missing stuff that should combo, but I guess i fuck up since it never does for me.

like, any hit will give a launcher to my opponents for a combo. I keep getting a light hit, but then the launcher never connects. I get a hit with Thor's "divekick" thing, cant combo off it.

I know the problem is me, I just dont understand what the problem IS. Frustrating.

For example, I understand that I get hit out of blocking because I press up-back, which I shouldnt, but I still do. But at least I understand why thats happening.

Does it even teach about the free level 3 off of Stone? Watching a ton of pro matches a bunch of them didn't seem to know you can use it. There's a couple mechanics that aren't really spelt out well at all.

Also for those playing Thanos out there here's a video someone made on how to do the Palm Breaker corner loop. (Don't know if anyone has linked this yet)

Reality Stone needs that research to make it less effective. I've been seeing people use it and generally I pushblock it back to them and get a free tag off of it but man people can hide that shit real good.

I think all the gems are pretty dirty in their own right, but Reality is just the easiest to abuse right now (and at lower levels like myself).

God bless you for posting that. I've been dying to land that haha. I haven't played a real match yet, just been fucking around in training mode. I forgot how much I suck at Marvel :(. But it's fun.

Dante is the worst looking character in the game. His animations just look so janky in addition to his graphical effects/ particle being just worse. Everyone else is fine enough, maybe Chris is just as bad but seesh.

I really don't see what's so bad looking about the dude in-game.

There's no evidence of Nemesis after Raccoon City blew up. He wouldn't have any useful data to collect and archive.

I mean, if his partner told him about it, he wouldn't need a stack of data to inform him.

"Hey man this huge ass monster dude stalked the shit outta me fam it was crazy"

It reminds me of SFxT Poison - she was clearly designed as a traditional SF character.... but that really didn't work in terms of how SFxT played. But when they moved her to USF4 her kit actually worked and did work for you.

Trying to do some solo combos with Ghost Rider and I've fallen into a rut...

So, what's the difference between a "spike" and a ground bounce and how come so many moves just make the opponent fall flat on the ground without me letting me pick them up? Dahbomb, I need you knowledge!

Maybe in terms of the face, but Dante does have the upper hand overall... at least his hair isn't 🍌 bananas 🍌...

B A N A N A S

Dante's weird though. It's not like it's the lack of comic book shading that's making him look odd, because he looks fine in all 4 of the games he's in, and they don't have any special shading going on.

It's Ken's face all over again.

I'm obviously taking about in motion. His model is fine, even tho it's a downgrade but his animations are much worse and janky, ditto on his spell effects. Tell me his jello flame twister is just some ken face shit. Just look at how lackluster his Beowolf moves look. 100 percent downgraded visually.

Playing Dante really exposed my scrubby button mashy ways. His movelist cancels into so much with an extra button press. Need to learn how to play properly.

It looks fine (mainly in the colors and lighting) but there’s still obvious issues with it. Mainly in the character models more than anything else. Especially when compared to its peers and even SFV.

Jill would not have been able to describe what Nemesis looked like. At least accurately.

"He's tall like that Tyrant dude we fought back at the mansion and he's ugly as fuck!"

"Jill..........they're all ugly as fuck."

I feel like this "Mahvel looks like shit" meme has beyond taken a life of its own, to the point when even game reviewers are saying it has horrible graphics.

Like...this actually looks good to me.

I agree to an extent.
Certain characters look and animate well (Gamora and Cpt. Marvel specifically).
The backgrounds are all really well done.
The problem is the artwork is uneven to the point where things like Dante's face stick out like a sore thumb and bring the overall impression of the package down significantly.

It's like getting a brand new monitor and it has a stuck pixel right in the middle of the screen.
Yeah it looks good overall, but... FUCK! I noticed that stupid pixel again!

Yeah this is it summed up pretty accurately. Currently running through arcade mode and a lot of times that’s happen. “Looks good” does Franks Level 1 with terrible textured zombies “ewwww”. Constant back and forth. It’s not enough to take me out of the game. But it’s enough that I won’t give it a complete pass and act like it’s perfect.

It's far from perfect but it's also far from garbage which is what a lot of people were saying (or still do), that's when it goes into meme territory. Like you said in your previous post, it looks fine, which is what I've been saying for months :/

Btw, you can unlock colours playing lobbies aswell not just matchmaking.
