Thoughts?

I watched the first season of this show and alternated between thinking it was kinda creative and thinking it was ridiculously bad.

I dropped it afterwards.

When I heard that they were pulling deep cuts from the comics like Azrael (but not the JPV version, meh) I thought about getting back in....but no.

It is shot beautifully, I'll give it that.

You missed the mutants who were totally not a plot device to decreepify poison ivy

I wish the writing would be up to par with the rest of the production, it's a gorgeous show carried by great atmosphere and style. Everything else is spotty.

I was never able to get into the show. Probably will try again when it's done but it's definitely the best looking comic book show. Hell it looks better than a lot of non comic book shows too

Legion is way more visually interesting

That being said, I am greatly in love about how Gotham drinks from EVERY SINGLE MOMENT IN BATMAN's CARREER from nolan to silver age. I am impressed a gorilla still didn't appeared in the episodes I watched

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Sometimes it's one of the dumbest shows on the air, but their production design is A+

Costumes, sets, CG backgrounds to alter the look of New York. The list goes on and on. It makes it really hard to go back to what Marvel TV has been popping out because they do literally the bare minimum with their Netflix programming, which also films in NYC.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Is it still on the air? Shocked if so. The episodes I've watched were terrible.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Been watching over the summer and still early in S2, but despite some problems it is one gobsmackingly gorgeous show. The set dressing, costumes, lighting, architecture, all stunningly beautiful.

No idea what the difference is I only saw the last couple episodes of the last season randomly on TV.

The people Barbara and/or the penguin employ are a god damn circus.

Barbara should have been written off the show two seasons ago. What else is there to do with her? Then again, the show can't write female characters that aren't somehow fucking James Gordon or just "crazy" so whatever...

There's a lot of things that need to be fixed plot and story wise, but I think it's too late for that and they're just saying "Ok, we Batman now."

All I know about Gotham is in one episode there was a villain who killed people by tying helium balloons to them or something. That was enough to keep me from watching it.

Should've clicked since I'm not even halfway through s3 hahah.

Not that I know who The Thing is supposed to be.

I think it looks garish, but admire the dedication to at least be visually distinct from other shows in it's genre.

Gotham's visuals are pretty but I definitely agree with people that Legion has the best visuals out of all the comic book shows (Hell Legion is the best superhero/comic book show out there)

Tho Gotham does have the best visuals of the network/netflix comic book shows (Tho It's writing could use some work).

I dislike the term "tryhard" but that's exactly what comes to mind when I see that Joker stand-in.

Garbage show. I hate it. I hate everything about it. Could have been so much more if they stuck to Gordon and the crimes surrounding Gotham.

Instead it was

Here's baby Bruce!
Here's baby Ivy!
Here's baby Selina Kyle!
Here's baby Joker!

fuck off.

First tragedy, then farce.
Gotham is a very well shot show with core characters that are well acted and likable.

The downside being the show likes to focus on outlandish bullshit stories and characters that are not good as the season long arcs.

I think early on the show was committed to doing it's own thing and then sort of fell into the "fuck it, we need super villians and Bats for ratings" and it went sideways from there. The S1 crime heavy stuff was much preferred.

So let me get this straight. Bruce Wayne is 13 years old. That means the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, etc will be running around gotham for 20-30 years?

Even when Batman or Gordon captures them and sends them to prison, they escape and do the same shit over and over again?

So wait did the joker stretch the skin on his face, except for a arts around his eyes or did he stitch another person's face onto his?

Visually the show looks nice.
It's also one of the stupidest shows on TV. The writers don't seem to know what to do besides make characters evil or do stupid things.
