Someone said that the PC version had about 10000 people on the ranked board and that only sold about 20K. So if PS4 has the same sort of rule going. It at least sold through 40K.
I'd wager ATM sold through (Not shipped) is probably around 100K+.

Kind of hard to go off just ranked though. Since there could potentially be a bigger gap of people who never even try a rank match. But with one of the most common trophies being win a ranked match (or play can't recall). Doesn't seem to be the base probably.

jesus christ.

Man it might be bombing worse than I originally thought.

I'm hoping the Marvel name got it to at least ship 1 million. Then again Dead Rising 4 was a the 4th title after a multi-million selling third game and that still hasn't broken 1 million shipped.

Is there a good blocking tutorial or mission? Seems fundamental but I feel like I’m getting slaughtered just holding back when a huge power attach comes and assume I’m doing it wrong.

Capcom isn't going to be able trick retailers to stock up on their new fighting game after SFV.

Is it possible to drop ranks after you rank up?

I want to say it happened to me but I honestly don't remember. I don't see why you wouldn't though.

Real life infinity stones?

I wonder what they'll do for the tournaments lol. Maybe Space Stone will make all your matches on stream? =P

Of course, with meme and hates around, it sullied the branding so people are being cautious with buying the game.

Yeah but I was thinking maybe close to but less than a million months ago. This sounds like they'll be lucky to hit 200k. That's a complete disaster.

Just bought from Amazon. I'll be joining the PS4 players on Monday. Big DMC/Tekken guy so I'll main Dante/Someone and hopefully be able to learn the game at a decent speed. Excited because the gameplay looks pretty damn good.

People typically don't like to spend $60 on a game that the developer hasn't even bothered selling them on.

This. This game us the first fighter in years I did not jump on day 1. Still waiting on dlc dates, some kind of indication there will be post support beyond dlc characters that should have been included anyway as well.

This was such a low key release despite the community getting behind it after playing it. Why Capcom did not ride the good will to release is beyond me but its too late now and I'm scared to hit that add to cart button on steam with the seemingly super low sales and player base.

I've been having a blast playing with my main team of Arthur/Firebrand/Power but after watching the SCR games I might have to try out space for the mixups.

I'm having a lot of trouble consistently inputting the short hop cancel crossbows with Arthur though on my PS4 controller, the down,up,down motion is pretty tricky to get.

Yo, why don't local Vs. matches count for unlocking colours?
I hope this new marvel vs capcom game comes up with sweet concept art like the past game did

It doesn't.
Real talk, who should I use as Captain Marvel's partner?
  • Gamora
  • Ultron
  • Nova
I'd say Gamora, but I just really like how Gamora plays.

I wish they’d settle on a more interesting art style in-game as well. MvC1 and 2 had Capcom’s excellent sprite art style; MvC3 always looked good and modern while remaining relatively faithful to the Marvel side comic roots while adjusting the Capcom characters to the style well (it was one of my favorite looking games of last gen)...

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite... Looks like an Unreal-powered game. I keep saying this in threads lately, but it feels like the transition to Unreal engine for a lot of games has resulted in art styles that looked “Unreal Engined” — bulkier, kinda uglier character models. Some characters like Megaman X and Zero look fine and retain their style pretty much perfectly from the source, but everyone else just looks... “Unreal Engined,” for lack of a better word. Human characteristics for the models to me feel like a bad blend of Gears of War and Korean MMO art style (like Black Desert) to me.

EDIT: to be honest, though, I’m already feeling a lot more compelled and interested in MvCI’s mechanics than I ever felt for MVC3 or UMVC3. Not that I felt that the MVC3 games were bad, but they didn’t capture my enthusiasm and obsessive play like MvC2 did back on Dreamcast for me. I literally havent’ followed anything except MVCI since it came out Tuesday, and I’m feeling constantly thirsty to learn more stuff from watching people play. It’s in my head. They got some good gameplay stuff going, and while I generally evaluate games on the whole package delivery (presentation matters to me, even for games that aren’t the most technically advanced) and not solely on gameplay, MVCI is turning out to be a big exception to the norm.

I've said it before, Infinite looks better than 3 in the same way those "Mario 64 in UE4" tech demos look better than SM64.

Watching SCR and Capcom said this game was supposed to be casual friendly? LUL

I think it actually really is, considering the potency of autocombos online with less than stellar connection. (sarcasm)

But seriously, beginners can play the game and have fun without concerning themselves with nuances of the game. The hardcore has plenty of depth to tinker with.

I think the game satisfies both the casual and hardcore. That in itself is a delicate balancing act.
