Final Fantasy VII Remake shifts to internal dev under Mobius project leader

If Cyberpunk is 2020 then, yes, Cyberpunk 1st.

DQ battle road and DQX are pretty big tho.
Wasn't hos involvement in DQX after ARR?

Either way, tbh the idea that Sakaguchi could lead a modern HD game with the experience he has is pretty silly. He'd be better off in a producer role. Not that that will happen.

They can still win PSX by showing Tifa and Cloud talking in a cutscene and a brief battle scene of them fighting together.

This is a mess and its getting worse. Right now it has lost my interest, especially since its episodic and is going to be delayed at the start and then each episode (based on history) will also be delayed.

Much like the kingdom heart remakes which started on the ps3 and then moved on to the ps4. The final 'episode' will probably be on the ps6. The entire package will be on the ps7. And no backwards compatibility. On one hand I feel SE wants to make fans happy but then their actions seem, not just make a profit, but suck every penny out of you.

I don't want to be XVed again.

Take all the time you need Nomura.

Yeah, it's a huge "coincidence" that every Final Fantasy had huge production problems since Sakaguchi leave

Beside that, since FF X SE also lost an amazing director (Kitase) and got an okayish (?) producer (Kitase)

never realized that lol

FFXI was his true last Final Fantasy and then he went and supervised two of the greatest 360 RPG's Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.....both of which are fantastic.

FFXII and on has been pretty.....terrible IMO, I liked FFXV a lot but I can't imagine it ever being released if Nomura was left on it.

looking at the list.....the last thing Nomura did in full directing that wasn't a portable/mobile/remake title.....was kingdom hearts 2......and we all remember how insanely long that took. Dear god, how did this not wave red flags immediately blows my mind. This man is not Kojima

XII and XIV are just as good as X, if not better, and XI was not Sakaguchi.

I still agree largely that Sakaguchi was the magic that made the best FFs, but there have been amazing FFs since that were little to do with him. XI, XII and XIV.

Sakaguchi was executive producer for XI

But XII being as good......I threw up in my mouth a bit.

Agreed for sure on FFXIV.....but only when Yoshi took over

Sakaguchi didn't directly work on XI, but he is the one who came up with the idea of an MMO FF after he discovered EverQuest when he was living in the US (during development of IX and TSW).

What comes out first Cyber Punk 2077 or Final Fantasy VII Remake?

The gulf between Witcher 3 and SE's recent output is unbridgeable. Witcher 3's been out for two years already.

So,unless they fuck up royally and start making CP2077 in their sleep, its guaranteed to come out sooner and be a much better game.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Wonder how many Open World RPGs will have been released by the time SE has released all of FF7R.

I know but when you're talking about who's responsible for XIs quality, that's not down to Sakaguchi.

So complete collection pushed even further hun? Thankfully my anticipation for this is only with the full collection so I already have a "not in my lifetime" mindset for this game.

Edit: FFXI and FFXII > All. FFXI remaster co op + solo with gambits > FF7 remake. Please SE!

Enough of this revisionist horseshit. One artist who previously worked on textures did not "make" an entire dungeon by himself, that requires a team of programmers, audio engineers, artists, QA, etc.

The article you linked which I've seen linked multiple times before simply states he designed it. By the same logic Yoko Taro created Nier Automata all by himself. Get real please.

I remember that rumor about all the Final Fantasy games being put into one collection for the PS4.

It was funny then but now it's hilarious.

Will Dragon Quest XII come out before 7R?

I still find it bizarre that you think that one of the most critically lauded aspects of FFXV was a waste of resources. That's like saying chocobo racing was a waste of resources in FF7, just because it's nothing like the rest of the game.

Hey I liked Chocobo Racing. Well, whenever I won at least heh heh.

Versus had more updates through the years than FFVII Remake. And Versus was a project that never really took off.

The fact that this is happening for a second time with Nomura and FF is both hilarious and sad.

Playing through IX right now and god damn I love it. Only problem is the overworld sucks really bad. Please remake IX after you're done with VII in 5 years, thanks SE.

Don't move goalposts, I'm responding to someone who is putting forth a fake narrative that literally one man created a dungeon that takes hours to complete, which is complete lunacy.

And I do personally believe that a secret post-game dungeon that is so well-hidden that you get an instant game over just by approaching it incorrectly, and whose production values are far beyond any dungeon in the main campaign is a self-evident misuse of resources and man hours. Why spend time and energy, in a game that was already released unfinished after being delayed, on content barely anyone will see?

Comparing this to chocobo racing is absurd as chocobo racing is freely available to players as a mini game during the main quest.

Well since things are going swimmingly with this game, I think that it will still maintain it's episodic release but they will combine two episodes into one.

I also have this nagging feeling inside of me that they will change the battle system.

This is actually very promising to my ears.

Reminds me of them saying "NOPE" to Final Fantasy XIV and restructured it in to my still favorite MMO (although I don't really play ARR anymore, I have the best memories from it compared to any other MMO).

I have faith in Nomura, as I always have. Plus, this time Kitase and other people are there to help him see this through, rather than taking staff away constantly.

Imagine if it was Tabata stepping in to "save" this. This same people would be shouting from the rooftops.

Come on, Jeels.

I think at this point every thing is up in the air. We can't be sure anymore about the platforms it will appear, what generation, if it will be multipart or one game, the gameplay etc.

And i totally expect that Sony will drop any kind of exclusivity they have, judging from other games that were PS4 exclusives but developers didn't deliver in a certain time (Rime). But this is the last that matters now.

True. Plus if I remember correctly, Nomura and the other people making this game did say that there were looking into multiplayer elements so that might take a little bit more time.

....or was I just misreading things?

The only horseshit is your comment that they wasted 'resources' and then listing the dungeon as an example. Atleast come up with better arguments next time and when pointed out, don't shrug something that is coming directly from the devs unlesd you actually worked on the project and know the resources wasted on useless assets.

Ehhh... don't need to see Tabata come back and salvage another one of Nomura's fuckup. More excited about his new IP rather than have him take over this mess.
