Dear Leader Trump has finally noticed Puerto Rico. As you would expect, he...

Oh yeah. People have had their homes and towns completely torn apart, and many of those with houses still standing are going to go without power for months.

But won't someone please think of poor Wall Street?

It's impressive the level of tech that Wall Street has these days, sending hurricanes to punish those in debt. /s

What an idiot.

honestly I'm tired of reacting to Trump's insane behavior and his enablers doing jack shit. I'm trying to become numb to it now. Otherwise it just ruins my entire day.

Mr. President shut the fuck up about NFL. Do something about our people in need in #PuertoRico. We are American citizens too.

To be clear, Puerto Rico is not a state and I'm pretty damn sure US taxpayers are ALREADY bailing it out of bankruptcy. So you need to STFU.

No wonder Trump loves the poorly educated.

Sometimes it's hard not say "fuck off" to every Tweet. I know it's not productive, but I can't help it.

How is this the response of our President while people in Puerto Rico are suffering and without power?

Every day he is in office brings more shame to this country, but no one will do anything about it.

Tax cuts for the wealthy are too important.

Stripping people of their healthcare in the name of states rights and more tax cuts is more important than the status of our country as a respected world power.

Standing by as the President launches a crusade against all minorities in this country by using blatant scapegoating and race-baiting tricks in the name of holding a job title bought by men and women without ethics who are consumed with greed is the new status quo.

A better man would have resigned, but Trump is not a better man.

He will ride this sorry story out until the end, destroying this country and turning its people against one another for his own amusement and ego.

The man who cries "stand for the flag" has no genuine love for this country. If he did, he would stop.

It's no longer shocking. What saddens me is his actions will continue to lower the standard for what it means to lead this country.

The gutters of discourse are the present and future playground of American governance.

Eh no..wasn't talking about the people of Puerto Rico..... but US citizens can vote, right?.

US citizens are only entitled to vote in federal elections if they are a resident of one of the fifty states or DC. Residents of US territories cannot vote in presidential elections.

This leads to the somewhat interesting scenario where US citizens who move to foreign countries can still vote from their former state of residence, but if they move to a US territory, they lose their federal voting rights.

Trump's amazing talent is that he writes and talks in a way that makes it very easy for people without a clue about anything or empathy to nod it off and think it's a reasonable point he's making.

What the fuck.
Did he really spin the destruction like that?
Is he fucking crazy?

Para mis hermanos puertorriqueños, sed fuertes. Un maníaco como Trump no podrá con vosotros.

Well yea, Puerto Ricans, as American Citizens, can vote for President as long as they live in one of the fifty States. And any American Citizen who moves to Puerto Rico loses the privilege to vote. (Well, PR still vote in primaries which adds to the inconsistency) It's all very weird actually.

Back to Trump... What a heartless moron. What does the "debt" have anything to do with assisting in a humanitarian aid for fellow Citizens? Like, what a weird time to remind them of that. He's pretty much saying "Fuck you, tough luck". Definitely the worst thing he's said during his presidency.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
The presidency is at parody levels of being terrible and still over 30 percent support him. Is this bizarro world?

Go watch Fox News for two hours. Then realize there are a bunch of people for whom Fox is the only trusted news channel.

So he shits on Puerto Rico, offers no empathy(which I expected) but then goes back to ranting about McCain and the fucking NFL. The GOP silence on this bullshit makes me want to scream sometimes.

If it were a Dem Pres at all this Articles of Impeachment would be progressing through Congress as we speak. Hell a mere stain on a fucking dress was enough for the GOP to impeach Clinton!

the most confusing part is him ending with "food, water, supplies, top priorities are doing well..." wtf does that even mean after all the other things you just said? saying puerto rico is not doing well then saying help is doing well

As a Puerto Rican I’m saddened that I don’t even know the state of 90% of my family, and as fucked up as it probably sounds I’m glad this happened. I have a lot of Trump supporters in my family or “give him a chance” people and this finally changed their outlook

I just wish people cared about issues before it personally affected them.

I don't know if this is him just trying to add context to the situation, or if he's just being an arsehole again.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

Trump failed to turn around the resort and it declared bankruptcy in 2015. The Puerto Rico Tourism Development Fund, which provided project financing in 2000 and 2004, filed a claim in bankruptcy court for $32.7 million. The fund is paid for with tax dollars.

edit: I changed the quote I shared to another that's a little more fair. It wasn't entirely his doing but he shouldn't be blasting Puerto Rico's financial woes when he was involved in a shitty business deal that cost them so much.

Not watching. But did he really bring up NFL during this press conference? How does the GOP look at this guy and see this is okay? Shameful.

This genuinely, without hyperbole might be his worst tweet.

People without water, electricity and basic amenities. Desperate situation for a lot of them.

"Well................. your city owes money to Wall street."

Astonishingly callous.

Like joe rogan pointed out, if Puerto Rico was filled with perfect English speaking white people their situation would be all over the news

Their whole country is devastated right now and this prick can only tweet about the nfl

SCREW. YOU.

I couldn't find a worse take on this if I freaking tried. Like, I am genuinely surprised. I kept wondering to myself "How is going to make his response horrible?" And couldn't really imagine anything outside of staying silent, BUT HERE WE ARE.

What a joke we allowed this man to make it to office. I am completely stunned for the first time in a long while.

It's almost become part of my daily routine. Seeing this stupid mother fucker say something entirely tone deaf, evil, or just downright confusing. I can't imagine what is going to happen if we don't win the Senate back in 2018. America can't keep letting this buffoon make us out to be this idiotic.

Ok the way he swerved and had us expecting “billions of dollars... in damage” but instead we got “billions of dollars.. owed to Wall Street”

I missed this from yesterday. What a fucking cunt.

Most states have debt. Why would you even bring this up when millions of American citizens are in distress.

Wait, I already know the reason - because it's largely a Hispanic population.

The "that's because I'm smart" moment during the debates was a striking moment.

He doesn't care if something is right or wrong. He just cares if he's allowed to get away with it.

Hasn't Fema been there for days?

There's a lot more to do than just FEMA. For example, there are literally tons of wagons with red tapes in several American ports with thousands of items such as food, water, generators, etc. PR is close to reaching a humanitarian crisis seeing as there's not enough help reaching the island. These wagons haven't been delivered to PR because the commercial airlines won't send them without compensation.

Trump has the power to make sure all these wagons across many states all reach PR under an executive order.

This is just an example.

However, Trump worries more about the NFL than PR.
