Warframe Bundle Glitched Steam 9.99 instead of $140 [Dead]

So umm should I get this even if I didn't get the deal? Seems like a lot of pay to play stuff if it has 100+$ packs.

Wait for -50%/-75% platinum vouchers. You'll likely get one super quickly if you're a new player.... But don't wait. I got my second -75% platinum voucher after 200 days logged.

Farm a rhino, that and ember are the best two investments you can make.

Chroma's a better tank than Ember, but Ember is... dang, she's my favorite. Firequake is my favorite CC in the game.

They expire in like a day. I thought I could keep 'em, but, uh, no. You don't really need plat to play, though. Just useful for getting frames you don't already have that are vaulted.

Any recommendations for a support frame? The one that caught my eye in the warframe list was Harrow. Is he any good?

Harrow's a quest reward way way down the line, and frankly I've never even come across one in-game so I can't really speak to his abilities.

When it comes to support, you're generally thinking Trinity (the gold standard for healing and giving your team more Energy than they can actually use), Frost (Snow Globe the Defense target, sit back and have a smoke), Nekros (Desecrate all day long), or Vauban (Bastille and Vortex if you're helping, Bounce Mines if you're trolling). Of the four, Vauban is only available through rare Alert rewards.

Harrow's tricky and needs some solid mods to shine. He's one of the few frames I'd say that's easy to play wrong. You pretty much have to sacrifice your shields and energy to buff others and yourself. Thus the whole penitence and self-flogging action.

Trinity is good for healing and energy, Nekros is good for collecting resources, Frost is great for defending a spot (he creates a globe that deflects damage), Vauban has sort of a force barrier he can set up around a spot, and deployable mines/grenades to set up traps, Oberon is a nice healer with the ability to cover an area in an enemy-debuff field that also protects allies on it from status effects (like fire, poison, knockback, etc), Volt can give the team super speed and has a deployable force shield that deflects shots and buffs your own... Come to think of it there are a lot of support frames, but there are also a lot of varied objectives to deal with, and different frames will shine in each. Some of the best support abilities are unlocked via augments, which are late game mods - obtained from leveling very high up in the end-game factions, but you can find people to trade for them.

Yeah but as a new player Chroma is a long way off.

Better the get those two as they are easy and the materials are next to nothing to acquire.

It's also worth repeating for new folks that if you have a Twitch Prime membership, you are able to get Frost Prime for free through your Twitch Prime rewards. The promo currently runs through October 31st.

How long does it take to farm frames then, considering a lot of people are saying they're easy to acquire? Can you get them pretty quick from starting or?

That said, I'm quite happy with the excalibur frame so far, as someone who enjoys the melee quite a bit. I dunno if there's any better melee frames though.

Depends on the frame. Those that drop from bosses can be farmed in ~10 minutes, the 'hard' part is waiting for parts and then frame to build. If I remember right it's 12h for the parts and 72h for the frame itself.

Trinity has completely absurd support abilities. She can give the entire team free energy, and her ultimate ability heals the entire team's health and shields to full and has infinity range. Another of her moves turns her into a tank temporarily, which lets her take advantage of her ability to revive teammates faster than any other frame. I can't really speak to Harrow, but either way you can't even get him before finishing multiple lengthy storylines.

Wow that sounds pretty good. I... am not good at staying alive, so being able to become a tank sounds nice.

I'll definitely stay away from Harrow for now then (not that I could get him anyway, i'm super early in the game). Trinity seems like the best one to go for for a beginner like me. Ohh Frost having bubbles makes sense. I did an Excavation match and there was a ice person, I thought the bubbles I was standing in was just part of the mode.

The insane customization that mods and (i assume) augments open up is really exciting.

Thanks for all the responses!

The older frames tend to drop on bosses, with each frame tied to a different boss found on a different planet. These are easy to get and build.
Thew newer ones are tied to quests which are simple but the parts are harder to farm and build with some being quite hard.

Then there are primed version of these frames which are the hardest to get. Their parts drop from relics which must be farmed from other missions. The relics drop several parts so you might not get what you want so you have to use another relic. Usually more resources to build too.

44.000 people playing daily on steam, there the underdog on steam they are there but nobody notice them unless you say something about it.

In 4 years time they changed so much i remember playing the beta, they improved so much it is mind boggling how much content there is a long with warframes and customization.

Yea I went back and watched the new expansion reveal and some other streams and you can see how much effort goes into making this game. I'm hooked already.

Fair enough, thanks.

Also if you have Amazon Prime make sure you claim the twitch prime loot which is a Frost Prime warframe.

So are their any recommended frames for new players or solo players? I'm using the Hydroid Prime because it looks cool but I eventually want something that's agile and oozes particle effects.

Also for newer players like myself, be as agile as possible and use wall run and double jump and when you aim down the sights while in the air you can glide insanely far. Completely changes the combat.

Gotta be honest, the sound mixing is really bothering me. Sound effects are way too loud even when using the lowest number, and the voices / etc are way too quiet.

BTW, what's a decent number of slots one should have? All tabs, if possible.

In truth, "as much as you need". Most people don't keep ALL weapons they level up, but you'll eventually find you want to have a stable of your favorite weapons and then you buy extra slots for them.

The only exception is frames. There are no frames to my knowledge that are not worth keeping, unless it's a vanilla version of a prime frame. Even then you should buy slots as you build frames, rather than keep a stockpile of slots.

When I solo. I usually go with Nova , or Mesa. Love em both.

Rhino. Even in the early going he's nigh unstoppable. Heavily armored and with a large health pool he's already a tank, but his signature power, Iron Skin, gives you another fat layer of armor that has to be fully depleted before you take any damage and provides total immunity to knockdown, provided your feet are on the ground. Besides that he has an unstoppable forward-charge, an aura group buff and enemy debuff roar, and his ultimate is a radial stomp that damages and freezes enemies in place - even mid-air. Its the record-scratch of Warframe because everything just... stops.

Even without mods you can feel confident exploring and tackling the game's enemies and bosses - but modded with some real intent he can become damn near unkillable.

Fight the Jackal on Venus to acquire his parts. He's an old school frame, acquired on early planets, and he's always been solid.

The only problem with Rhino is that when you eventually move on from him to other frames they'll all feel super squishy, and you might have to die a few times to recalibrate ;p

As you gain more gear and frames and mastery you open up a whole world of build options, and the more you'll be able to solo most content, with any frame. They're all viable with some planning and tuning. And since everything since launch in Warframe has been additive, the more you play the more avenues of play open up, and the more possibilities, and the more directions to optimize your choice of frame, weapons, and mods, for any particular challenge.

Still janky. Warframe will never not be jank. Watching the physics freak out during ragdolls constantly reminds me of how janky it is.

It's 2017 no one uses proprietary engines anymore, use Unreal like normal devs!

Harrow is one of my favorite frames, but yes, you're probably a little off from being able to go grab him. Plus one of his parts requires farming a fairly unpopular mission, so I'd put it off for now.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Defection runs for the Harrow systems. That's a pretty complicated mission type, and not many people were playing it, so it was just me and my buddy trying to work it out on our own and getting our asses handed to us... at first.

The mix of objectives, enemies and the need to split up at some point was a real head-scratcher for us until we realized that with healing frames we could skip the med-bay objectives, heal the defectors ourselves and keep the train running non-stop to the evac point. Of course you still have to deal with unending infested (punch-through corrosive Somas and gas+boom Ignis were our solutions) and worst of all - Ancient disruptors and eximus units draining our energy at a distance, which is where my streamlined Trinity energy vampire build came in. My buddy used an Oberon for heals and his hallowed ground whenever we'd get stuck. His hallowed ground and my link kept us from being knocked down by mid-bosses, and my main role was to keep us both full up on energy, health and shields.

That process of learning the objective and creating optimized builds and the precise weaponry to synergize with them to tackle the objective is probably my favorite part of Warframe, outside of the combat and parkour. And once we came up with our plan we were able to tear those missions up. And now we just keep those saved loadouts at the ready if we ever need to dive back into them. But of course we'll have to tweak them for different enemy types.

So I take it that it doesn't work anymore (or just didn't work in the first place).

I'm still waiting on the open world expansion. It's out this year, right?

What is the recommended buy with platinum if there's any?
Slots (for warframes, weapons, sentinels) are #1. You'll eventually NEED slots if you keep playing and want to establish a large arsenal, but also some optional stuff: loadout slots, orokin catalysts (double weapon mod capacity) since they're super rare these days (you can still get orokin reactors and formas pretty easily through regular play), and of course the gazillion cosmetic options for everything from color palettes, syndanas, deluxe skins, Tennogen, swapped animations, custom holster locations, the works. Fashion frame is endless.

You can also hunt down some particularly hard to find mods via the trade channel and trade relays and barter some of that platinum with other players if you want.

As a personal rule I never rush builds, or buy frames or weapons, since that's the core loop of the game and I'm not going to pay to skip playing. But there's never a shortage of cosmetics that I *want* to buy. Some of those deluxe skins and Tennogen are incredible.

Surprised, but it all worked. Played for a little while earlier and the game had changed so much. Still very fun. Not sure I'll ever use the platinum, but we'll see.

I'll never understand that mindset. You want to win over people because you paid more, rather than because you're better? You want people that paid more than you (and let's face it, at 40$ you're barely an anchovy in a sea of whales) to win over you?

Well, afaik this game is primarily PvE? So no, I don't want to win of people. I want to win over the game itself!

I almost may not be serious.

Potatos (orokin catalyst/reactor) as well, certain mods that aren't worth the time to farm yourself can be had on warframe.market

Funny enough i used some of the platinum i got today and bought Harrow. I can void tear for two hours, and nothing dropped. I was beyond pissed. Harrow is a really fun frame though.

If there is anyone that missed out on this but it is still interested in getting it at a significant discount, send me a PM. I decided not to use the one I bought since I've stopped playing for a while now, though be forewarned, it requires me logging into your Warframe account for a minute to link it.
Sent you a PM - you are an amazing person for offering this.

That's why I got into Warframe and I'm loving it :) Frost is pretty tanky too which fits my style of play. That was the best Twitch Prime benefit so far.

Damn,..the open world footage really got me hyped for this, would've loved to get in on the pricing error. Anyone not interested in playing the game willing to sell this? I'll gladly pay a slightly higher sum for it.

Maybe I'll install it and give it a go tomorrow.

I thought it was Steam only, so I'm not sure how anyone would do that.
