Oxenfree, Stardew, & Axiom Verge - Which Switch games are you buying this week?

Vanillalite

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Of the big 3 heavy hitters coming to the Switch eShop this week what are you coping? Oxenfree, Stardew, or Axiom? All 3? Picking one and gonna get the others later? Still reeling from last week's onslaught of games?

At this point the "Switch has no games" argument is laughable to me, and not in a good way.

I have about 10-15 games on my wishlist (Canadian dollar value doesn't help). Just bought Golf Story (because I only just 100%'d Steamworld 2) and Picross, will probably buy all three of the games in the subject of this thread too.

Christ.

AND I still gotta play Mario + Rabbids. Maybe that'll be a Christmas Break game...........oh wait Xenoblade.

Definitely Stardew Valley. Axiom Verge can wait a bit since I have it on WiU. I should wait on Oxenfree as well considering how many games I want to play right now are available to me.

Stardew is all I’ll need between everything else that’s going on until Destiny 2 and Mario come out.

None of those as I already own them elsewhere, but I might pick up Golf Story as everything I’ve heard about it sounds great. Outside of that nothing else until Fire Emblem and Mario.

Seriously considering buying Stardew Valley in two days, might buy Oxenfree as well, although I might finally play Ni No Kuni instead.

I own all three on other platforms already, but will double dip on Stardew for the portability.

Edit: as mentioned by others, Oxenfree is really great, don't miss out on that one Switch owners.

I just bought Golf Story last week, and I'm still playing Mario + Rabbids. Hell, I still haven't finished all of the Master Trials. Switch is burying me.

I'm buying Stardew Valley.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does Stardew Valley to set itself apart from your typical Harvest Moon experience?

I'm still working through Cuphead and Pokken.

I'll hold off on Stardew until a physical release. I have it on PC, so I can wait.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does Stardew Valley to set itself apart from your typical Harvest Moon experience?

There's no real time limit on events like in Harvest Moon (you can spend years before marrying if you want), and it incorporates dungeon combat elements and some Animal Crossing elements (fishing, foraging) into the game. It's got an excellent soundtrack and very, very memorable characters. You will grow very attached to the NPCs

It's an evolution of Harvest Moon, taking the annoying parts and refining them, while leaving the core farming and marriage stuff intact, but improving it.

Stardew valley, Golf Story..

I already own Stardew valley on PS4, but The Switch seems like a more desirably platform to play on.

I already own Oxenfree on PC and will play it there.. Axiom Verge was fun on PS4; can't see myself double dipping.

Axiom Verge is eh.

Might do portable Oxenfree.

Stardew on Vita or not?

remote play?
but it isn't the same

I've yet to grab SteamWorld and Golf Story...

Never played Stardew. Axiom already own it on PS4 and Wii U. Will maybe get it on physical eventually. Oxenfree looks interesting.

Played Oxenfree with my kids this weekend. Very fun and they loved adored it.

I had a ton of fun with it to boot!

None I guess. Beat Axiom Verge on PC and would buy the other ones on PC if I cared about them. Guess my next Switch game will be FE Warriors.

Finally gonna hit up Stardew Valley. I've always had a thing for those kind of Harvest Moon type games. I would have picked it up already but having it on a portable seems like a perfect fit.

None, for I'm still completely busy with the SNES Mini, but hell I'm glad all those amazing games will be on my switch at one point. Such a great indie library on the go and at home is a perfect match for the Nintendo titles on the damn thing.

As a PS4 owner who bought a Switch for Odyssey, I've played all of these before, but damn that's a good looking selection of games for people who haven't experienced them yet.

Most of these I wouldn't buy if I had a Switch, because they're just things I already own or finished on other platforms.

I bought Golf Story and will buy Stardew Valley. I'm gonna try to burn through Golf Story and the Destiny story and maybe chip away a bit at Persona 5 but I think we're firmly i the time when all of my money is gone. This holiday season is nuts.

Oh and ninty gamers should be in for a treat if they played Shinobi 3D on the 3DS, Volgarr was made by some of the top talent who worked on that game. If you haven't played Shinobi 3D, go play that too!
