Rose McGowan: Ben Affleck is Lying, he knew about Weinstein raping me and other women

Didn’t Elijah Wood back down and say he had no proof just that he heard stories? Because in his case if he does know he has to report it to the police.
Yes, Elijah was very fortunate to have protective parents that wouldn't let him go to Hollywood parties when he was a kid.

Feldman on the other hand very much lived the young hollywood lifestyle.

OK Luc Besson dated a 15 year old and they had a daughter when she was 16.
Is that illegal?

There were no raping, molesting, abuse or what not.

It is still a very young girl, dating a 32 year old man. Don't really care about the country rules. He'd be in jail in many countries for that. He is a creep. And what the hell does that matter.

Think it was posted a while back Age of Consent in France was 15, so if that is true it's legal.. but at the same time.. ewww

It should be.

Age of consent should be relative up to a point.

I don't think laws should make it okay for an adult to have sex with a child barely into their teenage years.

If anyone expressing outrage in this thread goes to watch JL before it hits the dollar theater, they're part of the problem.

Why? What has Zack Snyder done to deserve that? Especially given everything he's going through?

Or the rest of the cast and crew that all put months of their lives into the project matter?

We know all of Hollywood knows of this or things like these. No one can feign ignorance. No one. If you think your favorite actors like Bryan Cranston or Tom Hanks don't know women and/or young boys/men who have gone through this, think again. They'll claim they "didn't know it was this bad", but that's just wilful ignorance & turning a blind eye on the problem they very much know exists. Affleck knew of MULTIPLE cases. Many others in Hollywood knew. At some point (earlier), someone in Hollywood should've gone "there are many women now who have gone through this, maybe we should try to get them together and make a case against Weinstein to stop this disgusting shit from happening". The "but think about their future" shit doesn't apply to huge stars like Affleck & his ilk.

I mean, there's even a sizable defense force for a person who fucking FLED USA to escape being prosecuted for raping an underage girl. Forgive me if I don't want to give the benefit of a doubt to Hollywood. They fucking knew and it reflects poorly on all of Hollywood that this shit has gone on for so long.

Yes, it reflects poorly on Hollywood. Don't really see anything I posted that contradicts that.

My post was towards one other poster here, who was unsure as to whether or not to condemn this specific actor, based on the information that gets thrown around online now, and I pointed out that it wasn't really required, that we don't have to partake in every fight.

Or maybe you have some other view of what's required from us following it from a distance, being consumers of the Hollywood movies?

Same DA who dropped the case with the Trump kids. Dude is corrupt as fuck.
Interesting. Yep, he is doing favours. Scum.

Oh, he most certainly is.

Here's Cara Delevingne's account of her experiences with Harvey Weinstein. The man is a monster.

caradelevingne:
When I first started to work as an actress, i was working on a film and I received a call from‎ Harvey Weinstein asking if I had slept with any of the women I was seen out with in the media. It was a very odd and uncomfortable call....i answered none of his questions and hurried off the phone but before I hung up, he said to me that If I was gay or decided to be with a woman especially in public that I'd never get the role of a straight woman or make it as an actress in Hollywood. A year or two later, I went to a meeting with him in the lobby of a hotel with a director about an upcoming film. The director left the meeting and Harvey asked me to stay and chat with him. As soon as we were alone he began to brag about all the actresses he had slept with and how he had made their careers and spoke about other inappropriate things of a sexual nature. He then invited me to his room. I quickly declined and asked his assistant if my car was outside. She said it wasn't and wouldn't be for a bit and I should go to his room. At that moment I felt very powerless and scared but didn't want to act that way hoping that I was wrong about the situation. When I arrived I was relieved to find another woman in his room and thought immediately I was safe. He asked us to kiss and she began some sort of advances upon his direction. I swiftly got up and asked him if he knew that I could sing. And I began to sing....i thought it would make the situation better....more professional....like an audition....i was so nervous. After singing I said again that I had to leave. He walked me to the door and stood in front of it and tried to kiss me on the lips. I stopped him and managed to get out of the room. I still got the part for the film and always thought that he gave it to me because of what happened. Since then I felt awful that I did the movie. I felt like I didn't deserve the part. I was so hesitant about speaking out....I didn't want to hurt his family. I felt guilty as if I did something wrong. I was also terrified that this sort of thing had happened to so many women I know but no one had said anything because of fear.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I take great delight from knowing that Hollywood executives everywhere are shitting their pants right now. If a titan like Weinstein can go down, they all will. The whole sordid industry is about to be revealed to the world.

Rose Marie from the Dick Van Dyke Show is 94 and said it's been going on as long as she's been alive and in the industry.

It gets mentioned a lot, but there was a book that came out several years ago called Down and Dirty Pictures that was about the story of Miramax. It was made with the full participation of Harvey Weinstein, and despite being the "clean" version of the story, you would be utterly flabbergasted of some of the stuff that made it to print, with Harvey being proud of it.

It's an amazing book, but man is it depressing how THAT is the shit he's happy to be public.

I hope Ben contacted her privately as well to apologize, but we'll never know unless one of them says it. He should've posted a longer message on his Facebook/Twitter as well.

Léa Seydoux now:

When I first met Harvey Weinstein, it didn’t take me long to figure him out. We were at a fashion show. He was charming, funny, smart – but very domineering. He wanted to meet me for drinks and insisted we had to make an appointment that very night. This was never going to be about work. He had other intentions – I could see that very clearly.

We met in the lobby of his hotel. His assistant, a young woman, was there. All throughout the evening, he flirted and stared at me as if I was a piece of meat. He acted as if he were considering me for a role. But I knew that was bullshit. I knew it, because I could see it in his eyes. He had a lecherous look. He was using his power to get sex.

He invited me to come to his hotel room for a drink. We went up together. It was hard to say no because he’s so powerful. All the girls are scared of him. Soon, his assistant left and it was just the two of us. That’s the moment where he started losing control.

We were talking on the sofa when he suddenly jumped on me and tried to kiss me. I had to defend myself. He’s big and fat, so I had to be forceful to resist him. I left his room, thoroughly disgusted. I wasn’t afraid of him, though. Because I knew what kind of man he was all along.

That’s the most disgusting thing. Everyone knew what Harvey was up to and no one did anything. It’s unbelievable that he’s been able to act like this for decades and still keep his career. That’s only possible because he has a huge amount of power.

In this industry, there are directors who abuse their position. They are very influential, that’s how they can do that. With Harvey, it was physical. With others, its just words. Sometimes, it feels like you have to be very strong to be a woman in the film industry. It’s very common to encounter these kinds of men.

The first time a director made an inappropriate comment to me, I was in my mid 20s. He was a director I really liked and respected. We were alone and he said to me: “I wish I could have sex with you, I wish I could fuck you.”

He said it in a way that was half joking and half serious. I was very angry. I was trying to do my job and he made me very uncomfortable. He has slept with all of the actresses he filmed.

Another director I worked with would film very long sex scenes that lasted days. He kept watching us, replaying the scenes over and over again in a kind of stupor. It was very gross.

Yet another director tried to kiss me. Like Weinstein, I had to physically push him away, too. He acted like a crazy man, deranged by the fact that I didn’t want to have sex with him.

What I find surprising here isn't his actions (we know by now he's scum) or the homophobic attitude in the industry but the fact his female PA worked in cahoots with him. That's really troubling, she must have known his intentions.

This fucking guy.

The more I read the more angry I get, I need to get off the internet for a while.

I'm so glad to read someone say this. Sometimes it becomes too much and it is best to just step away from the internet. It really does help.

Why would it be?

It seems like everyone in Hollywood knew about this and were too afraid of losing influence or money to do anything about it.

Not sure why Ben is being singled out.

Rose specifically called him out as having direct knowledge, his brother, and his own shitty past?

Don't forget Léa Seydoux starred in the opening sequence of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds....a Weinstein Company film.

I wonder how long he can keep quiet on this.

He should have done something but unless I am wrong it seems like a ton of people in Hollywood knew about this but were afraid to do it because of his power in the industry.

Given the massively long scene in Blue is the Warmest Colour, the gross sex scene one is easy to figure out. Side note: her work in that movie is spectacular.

(And I'm guessing the director mention before that is easy to pinpoint, too, given she liked and respected him and his work.)

It's insane how many people this awfulness has afflicted. Like a lot have said, it's angering.

I think I'm just going to have to assume every Hollywood actress in their 20s-40s has been accosted by this asshole at some point.

Or, if not him, some other asshole who hasn't been exposed (yet).

I also don't think age is a factor. I'm sure tons of minor actresses got molested too. Just look at the Judy Garland story posted earlier. It's been going since the beginning of the industry.

It's fucking horrible.

Yeah, I am very curious to hear Tarantino on all this. He worked with Harvey Weinstein for basically his entire career and is one of the few filmmakers who was never fucked over by him, even when he didn't hit big at the box office. Hope he says something soon.

Lawrence put out a statement a few days ago.

Is ben's career over

any update on Damon?

I really doubt Ben's career is over. As for Ben and Damon, these two aren't the only ones in this. Many Actors and Actresses have refused to speak out. You have other directors like Woody Allen who have been accused of sexual harassment (I mentioned that earlier in this thread I believe), but many actors and actresses (like Selena Gomez) still plan to star and have starred in his movies.

Hopefully this whole Weinstein scandal allows more people to come forward. The story about Cara is fucking gross.
