yeah like skyward sword right ?
This is a neat perspective to hear. The Switch is my first Nintendo console and I had the most fun on it this year (well maybe outside of Overwatch on PC). BotW and Rabbids/Mario are both incredibly good games. Especially Zelda was mind blowing. Cant wait for Mario. Super pumped for my first mainline Mario console game. (Never played even the first Mario games outside of a few levels of SMB at a friend when I was a kid)
Which was a 10/10 to most people here.
Bullshit. If that was true that game would've won GAF's 2011 GOTY Award and it didnt. I still cant believe that that game got a 10 in many places. It stands for everything opposite to what BotW ended up doing that made it such a critical and commercial success to the likes SS never had a chance.
yeah like skyward sword right ?
Like the best Zelda ever? I'd be delighted.

So any new deets from the actual review? lol
Similar number of moon stars to Korok seeds.
Haven't played a regular Mario game since Sunshine so I'm looking forward to this. Couple more weeks right?
Perhaps you think we should disregard the 10s for The Last Of Us and Bloodbourne too, right?
Two perfect games from Nintendo in one year, but Gaf's GOTY will still be Horizon. BotW and Odyssey will split the votes of Nintendo gamers but rest will vote for Horizon. No idea what PC crowd could crown as GOTY.

In the shadow of BOTW, few Zelda games survive. Zelda 1, LTTP, OOT / Majora, Wind Waker are the only ones that even come close to surviving IMO.

As a person who played both (Zelda & Horizon): Horizon is not even on my current top 10 2017 list.

Haven't been paying attention to not spoil myself.... but I hear there is something like Kirin seeds in this that we collect. Is this gonna be a more bloated open Mario?
If you're lucky digital stores will update in a few hours before print subscribers post excerpts in about 12 hours. So is the review posted any where it what?
I left the plateau. And what awaited for me was more chores.
In Brazil?!
A lot of people dismiss Skyward Sword because of the motion controls it had.
When you dealt with it, it was a wonderful game with some of the best dungeons in the series.
It deserved the 10/10 imo, the ending was fucking good, too.
Not a bad start, I might keep my preorder.
I wonder how close to Zelda's 97 score this will end up. In any case what an amazing year for Nintendo this is turning out to be.
Aside from the games that I haven't played on that list (Bayonetta), I can't disagree with it. I'm telling you folks, now that switches are actually on shelves you should grab one now before the holiday's hit. This list is impressive. EDGE has great 10 picks overall.
I'd argue the motion controls don't need to be "dealt" with at all. They're great.

No lies detected. 3D World was the most fun I had with a Mario game since... Well, Super Mario World. Only slight flaw is that the initial worlds are a bit on the easy side.

yeah no amount of backlash will keep skyward sword from being a great game
some of the best dungeons in the series, enemy encounters were great because of the motion controls, the overworld being dungeon-like was really cool, the story and presentation was amazing, yeah. great game. so many feels towards the end. I don't care how annoying the pop up stuff was with Fi she was a great character in terms of the story.
Ain't that the truth.LittleBigPlanet sticks out like a sore thumb
I'd be with you - it wasn't the controls that killed it for me. It was the insane repetitive bullshit at the end where I was forced to walk through the same environments 2-3x in order to finish that dropped it way down for me.
I'll also give a nod to tadtones, as I have several friends that wanted to kill themselves after that while trying to play the game. Again, I don't feel the same but there were enough complaints where the discussion was warranted.
When you look at BOTW though - any complaints are outside of gameplay typically. Story depth / dungeon depth / construction. All valid complaints but the core of the game is so good they are nothing to me, at least.
