So my issue was due to me doing this in a virtualbox VM. You need to install the host extensions and enable ehci usb 2.0 for it to work on the rom moving steps.

Got it working.

Ripped games with retrode added them and they all worked.

NBA JAM!!!!!

Oh okay, great that you got it working. Boomshakalaka!

I tried super star wars return of the jedi, the wiki says it's working without any problem but when i play my light saber doesn't make any sound, I'm the only one with that problem ?

the weird thing is that the empire strikes back works perfectly..

Well shit, just play Empire then. It's a better game, no? :p

Hey, Koji and Robin! Thanks for the patch! I can confirm that IoG is working perfectly fine on my end! (Well, there's a graphical glitch in the form of a black bar in the initial menus, but it seems to go away in-game).

Edit: By the way! I was inspired by the work of PMS341 and made my own Switch-like icons for the games I was missing. Take a look!

There are a few more in this gallery. Feel free to use them if you want :) I'll probably be doing some more, but so far my collection is covered ;)

Hey Joey, your Imgur link isn't working. Can you please re-upload?

Tried the PAL2NTSC patch on Smash Tennis (EUR) only for it to give me the region lock screen. Any way around this?

You could try using uCON64 to remove the region lock. It's a command line program, so do "ucon64 /?" to find out what the switch is to perform that task. I'm at work, so I can't be more detailed I'm afraid.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but even so, it's good for visibility.

You can now install the NES Classic Mini kernel as an HMOD for dual-boot in your SNES Classic!

Hey guys,
I wrote a guide a few days ago to dual-boot SNES Classics with the NES Classic firmware so you can get both console experiences in one, but no one was able to replicate my efforts.
Well, here's a tool that can convert an NESC firmware dump to a hakchi2 HMOD file that can be installed just like any other HMOD (Retroarch, etc.). Once installed, you will have both the NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Editions in one system, with a launcher icon in each menu to switch back to the other one. The NES Classic Edition features all work just as they did on the original system (save states, filters, menu UI and music, etc.)

Video of the mod in action. (For advanced users only!)

Edit: Needless to say, you need your own NES Classic kernel dumped to use this mod! Don't go asking for it here, or anywhere!

Ah man, this is perfect. Artwork as the title image, with no title name on.. Beautiful. Given I rely on my sprite thumbnail row to get to where I want quickly now anyway, this would be perfect.

If I have dumped my save files from an original cartridge, could I get the save to work on the Mini?

How about if I got a save state? Could I import it to the Mini?

Nope, all he said don't ask for it here because you won't find it here.

Interesting I suppose. I watched the video. I thought the kernels were unique to your unit. Maybe that's not necessarily true. I guess it's cool if you have both and want to go through the extra effort, but I thought digital foundry said that the NES classic emu is inferior to the SNES classic anyways. Not sure if that makes any difference if you're using retroarch. So for me it probably doesn't matter. And when DF did their review, it's not like this mod was available so I don't know if this mod would be better for playing NES games on the SNES CE, or equivalent or what. I'm okay with retroarch though. It's cool that it's become available. I didn't mean to shit on anyone's parade, sorry. I really love this cute little system. Brings back so many warm memories for me. Best $83 or $84 spent all year in my opinion.

Played Super Mario World for the first time earlier tonight on mine and it felt like I was playing it really again for the first time. I really am going to treasure all my experiences with this little emulator all through the holidays.

Yeah my point exactly then it just turns into a mediocre emulation box

To each their own. Wings of Wor on Mega Drive plays just as I remembered it. Still kicking my ass. I like having a simple HD way of playing my old favorites.

Agreed.
That said, I need a NES Mini when it "relaunches" in summer.
Is the hacking community there as advanced as here? Probably so.

Same! Then again, I got lucky and got an NES Classic. I hope to hack that after I finish my SNES (and play a ton)

Agree. Seeing GBA and Neogeo ROMs on the splash screen is just wrong.

Made logo-less "Switch" style icons for the base 21 games. I'll be adding the games I've personally added next. Feel free to take any, add a logo if you want it (easier to add than remove), whatevs.

Nice! Without the logo and text it definitely looks more stylish.

Looks great! I really really dig the switch look you guys are doing (and I will be using)

Without the titles though, you have to know what all the games are! My wife and some friends would be lost. Although it shows the game name above huh?

That’s the thing, I’m already navigating by using my row of sprites on the thumbnail row. The boxes are just art at this point so I figured why not go all out. So yeah it won’t work for everyone, but I’m good this way.

A couple requests:

1. Boxart/Icon for Famicom Detective Club II

2. Boxart/Icon for Super Street Fighter II (I’ve got no love for the original)

3. Thumbnail sprite of Celes singing in her opera getup

4. Thumbnail sprite of Ness posing for photo

5. Thumbnail sprite of Gunman’s Proof’s protagonist doing peace sign

6. A guide on how to add the sprites as thumbnail images (and for it to be posted to OP)

As for the custom backgrounds people are making for the main menu, has anyone managed to have them scroll like the default one?
