And of course the author of Felidae. Not enough that the movie of the book terrorizes children throughout the country, the guy himself is a prominent speaker at neonazi and Pegida rallies despite being an immigrant himself...
Ah....what? Fuuuuck..

The rest of your post is just you being stupid.

I knew only about the reddit history, what else popped up?

I honestly don't know what he did aside from his "ass eating" posts on reddit.

Didn't mean to imply he's racist. He's the definition of a milkshake duck though. People loved him and then 5 minutes later found out about his creepy reddit post history because he forgot to do his AMA on a throwaway account.

I think the only questionable racial related thing was:

”It doesn't have to be a one or the other view here. From what I read about the case the shooting of Trayvon Martin was justified," he wrote.

He did note that George Zimmerman, who was acquitted on the basis of Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law, was a ”big ole shit bird."

”Bad guy legally kills kid in self defense," he wrote. ”Sucks for everybody, including us due to media fuckery."

That and being undecided about Hillary or Trump.

honestly he seems a lot more average now than he did before. I fell like this would be the case for a lot of people if you are able to put a face and voice to an online persona. its kinda like breaking the fourth wall. everything you were conferrable with saying online suddenly becomes available for everyone to see and interpret how they see fit.

Its why white supremacists prefer to stay anonymous, they know life comes at you fast when all your thoughts and feelings are put out on display for everyone to see. and honestly he sounds like one of the better people on reddit.

as for the travon quote, it goes on.
As for his remarks on the Trayvon Martin shooting, Bone said that he believes the first outlet to pick up on his Reddit history mischaracterized his comments. ”Gizmodo picked up on the word ‘justified' as if I approved of his shooting. I do not," Bone said, explaining that he believes the shooting was justified legally, but ”not in the moral sense."

”A bad guy shot and killed a kid," he said. ”How is that good for anyone?"

Bone decided against deleting his past comments, despite the controversy, because he felt that doing so would be ”disingenuous."

A lot of people didn't like that she was not a fan of Corbyn. She was still anti-Tory, but didn't think Corbyn had it. Personally she was in the right - all the evidence prior to the election campaign suggested he was incompetent if well meaning. Then they ran an excellent campaign.

Also, I believe she is anti-Scottish Independence, which winds up people in favour of it.

Basically she hasn't done anything bad.

Thanks. I suppose her American politics are different because unless you're a shitty person it's unlikely you're siding with Trump at this point. It makes sense others might take more offense at her European political views.

But yeah had no idea people didn't like her. She has destroyed Trump on twitter many times and I love it.

Also not surprised she didn't call out Depp. She probably doesn't want to be responsible for attempting to damage the franchise and possible lawsuits. He's horrible though.

Without even clicking I know what this is.

Can't believe how this guy is wasting his life and money.

The dude needs a friend who's willing to deal with the bullshit and talk him through his issues. If we go by what the few people who've talked/ still talk to him and his social media accounts, he's in his house all day wallowing in his own self hate and pity.

Although not gonna lie, I still get a tickle that he bought a ton of candy for a party that nobody went too and whenever he donates to a charity and they have a stream, EVERYONE ACTIVELY GROANS AT HEARING HIS NAME. Like the Candy Going Bad situation would have made me do some serious self-reflection, but if I donated $10,000 to charity and people begrudgingly accepted it and were vocally upset about it? I would start seeking some serious mental help.

I haven't heard the candy story.

Got anything I can read?

His gaudy disaster of a house has a room where the walls are covered in plastic candy dispensers. there pictures here: https://www.polygon.com/2015/1/13/7540175/notch-housewarming-party-minecraft

AFAIK people did turn up for his housewarming party but since then he's had basically no social life so the candy in the dispensers went bad. Apparently he's been lonely and miserable, so that's some good news at least.

Imagine being such a tedious sack of shit that you're a billionaire in LA and no-one wants to be your friend.

This thread is making my work day positively fly by. I'd heard rumors about Louis C.K. before but that Tig Notaro interview makes me completely done with the guy, it does very little but I'll throw my Louie shirt away when I get home.

And Larry Bundy! He makes incredibly sub-par youtube videos anyway, so I'm really not going to miss the guy. I hope Ashens is an alright person.

I think with a lot of these people it is self-perpetuating. They are miserable and insecure which drives them to nazi ideas, it gives them a feeling of community and belonging. Then people react with hostility (for good reason) to his expression of these ideas, which drives him further into them. Isolating himself every step of the way.

He has the money to do so much and so much of value. Fuck him.

Not really a milkshake duck, since I didn't really care about her but, growing up a Catholic, Mother Teresa had always been this undoubtedly good, selfless, saintly figure. It was interesting to learn that, as it often happens in this world, nothing about her was quite so black and white. My grandmother loved the woman.

Nah, he was always this bad. Nobody drove him anywhere, it just wasn't as clear before.

A longtime pinball designer (who still is actively designing games for Stern Pinball), John Trudeau, was arrested last week for child pornography possession. This one hurts. If you've ever played much pinball, you've probably played some of John's games. His most recent one was Ghostbusters, which I owned the limited edition model of until I recently sold it.

Real bummer. I've met him several times and really admired his work.

Oh, wait, does KnowYourMeme count? I recall that in the height of Gamergate they claimed it as theirs because it didn't police their content, so they could write in their own narratives.

They have a page on Gamergate, and this is the overview:

GamerGate refers to the online backlash against perceived breaches of journalistic integrity on video game news sites that occurred as a result of the Quinnspiracy, an online controversy surrounding indie game developer Zoe Quinn’s alleged affairs with a number of men working in the video game industry, including Kotaku staff writer Nathan Grayson. The term has also since been used to describe the group of internet users, based mainly on Twitter, who claim that there is a lack of transparency within the video game journalism industry. These same people have also been criticized of practicing misogyny and sexism by many, most notably social justice warriors

Axe Cop sort of qualifies but really the part that everyone likes is by the kid brother and nobody much cares about the art of the older racist-ass brother.

Doug TenNapel is definitely the one that sticks out for me, and I'm not sure why. I liked EWJ, mostly for the creative aesthetics, but I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan (and I never could get past that bit worth the underwater glass bubble things, seriously fuck that level).
I think it's just because his bigotry is so damn egregious. It's not just some naive minor celebrity who shouldn't have been given a platform revealing his unexamined bigotry. There's an unpleasant glee to his homophobia; he seems to extract real pleasure from making people feel bad. He feels like a genuine villain... or at least he would, were it not for his pitiful habit of magically showing up to argue in any comment thread that mentions his name. The man must be Googling himself daily.

I met Doug about twenty years ago, and he was this lanky, energetic force of fun. I don't know if something "happened" or he was just slow to expose his private thoughts. But I believe he's quite religious too.

I had no clue about that. I haven't cared about Axe Cop in years, but that's awful to hear. Even if, again, people only cared because it was a story written by a 5 year old but drawn by a competent artist in a serious style.

Axe Cop is one of those comics where I feel anyone could've done the art & the end result would have been just as fitting, so I'll admit I'm not heartbroken. I just strongly regret giving him my money for one of Axe Cop's print runs now.

Professor Monkey-For-A-Head was apparently based on an argument he had with a college professor about evolution, & this drawing was supposed to be a dig at a professor doing his job & stating facts. At the very least, he was petty & unwilling to accept any viewpoint that didn't align with his in 1994.

This reminds me of that cuphead gameplay video of someone playing it poorly, I got a good chuckle out of it but saw it was from Cheong and wanted to hit retweet but I didn't... because it would be a retweet featuring Cheong >_>;

Oh, welp. Glad I fell off of following it pretty fast, I guess.

I think most people did, tbh. It was a hilarious idea at first, but it's a premise that gets old quick, & was inherently on a timer as the kid grew up & thus wouldn't have that childlike imagination the series was contingent on.

Cheong himself would count as a double-dip Milkshake Duck.

Especially if you used to be mutuals with him on twitter.

I knew him back in '91, when we were both involved in the comics industry. He was kind of a jerk back then.

Years ago when Cheong was getting shit on for criticizing Gamergate, Gators would bring up old IRC logs of him praising Hitler and claiming Jews deserved to get gassed.

I can't confirm if those logs were real but if they were it would be hilariously ironic to see him go from being known as a "notorious SJW" to swinging back to defending neo-nazis these days.

Can someone truly be a milkshake duck if they always were a duplicitous Nazi loving PoS?

Oh no, what did the artist do?

I thought it was worth noting for any fan holding their breath that Louis CK just denied (for the first time, that I've heard) the rumors about him.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/11/movies/louis-ck-rumors-wont-answer.html?mcubz=0

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because there haven't actually been allegations yet, and hopefully Tig Notaro's statement was a little extra biting because she was ticked off about the clown skit. I'd much rather Louie be a plagiarist than a sexual assaulter.

Anyway, he's not a milkshake duck yet, you bastards!

I usually don't like to jump to conclusions like this, but Jordan Peterson fits the description for me now. I recently found his videos and I found them a pretty good introduction into psychology. But then I noticed his quostinoable decisions of inviting the sexist ex google guy on his channel. It's fine to have a discussion with someone even if you think they're wrong, but then the thumbnail to the video was spelling goolag in google letters). He also mostly appeared on other "quostinoable" channels like Stefan Molyneuxs and it's mostly to agree with them instead of challenging them on their ideas. He also uses thermes like "Sjw, virtue signalling, beta males" and claims that "white privilege" doesn't exist. And I haven't even brought up the whole "Transgender vs "free speech"" debacle yet. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt if he'd call out the alt-right he's clearly pandering to.

There was a guy who was a minor local celebrity who was breifly adjacent to circles i was hanging out in. He ended up losing his status for undisclosed unpleasant reasons.

I actually got to meet him at a later point where the shine was well and truely removed. He was personable but definitely left me with a negative impression.
