So I queued up the download when the demo came out but only got around to downloading it on the weekend. I'm unable to play, it just keeps saying I can't connect to the servers.

I haven't been keeping up with it but is it a timed demo and the time period is now over? Or is it because I don't have PS Plus?

I only have a certain amount of download per month with my ISP so I think I just wasted a good chunk of it lol.

It is over.

How are historic GT numbers in Japan? Because PS4 was not released in Japan when GT 6 launched, so the situation in the rest of the world is different when it comes to GT 6 sales comparison.

PS1
Gran Turismo [All Versions] - 648.650 First Week, 2.379.059 Total
Gran Turismo 2 - 748.581 First Week, 1.460.687 Total

PS2
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec [All Versions] - 468.391 First Week, 1.513.700 Total
Gran Turismo: Concept 2001 Tokyo - 198.284 First Week, 334.215 Total
Gran Turismo 4: Prologue - 203.300 First Week, 747.692 Total
Gran Turismo 4 [All Versions] - 663.543 First Week, 1.210.463 Total

PS3
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue [All Versions] - 108.040 First Week, 533.752 Total
Gran Turismo 5 [All Versions] - 410.486 First Week, 731.164 Total
Gran Turismo 6 - 187.640 First Week, 376.432 Total

Strikes me as somewhat good considering how everything is declining.
Yeah, I think it is decent. At least retaining the GT6 audience would be much preferred over another significant drop. It probably won't ever reach the highs of the series from back in the day though.

I think this will be the first GT game that releases day and date with the launch of the next console. They'll simply update the textures and bump it to 4K/60fps.

Is the Limited Edition worth it? It's $2 more on Amazon but apparently the prime discount isn't working right and it's showing as $55 with Prime.

Is that the steel book? I think it comes with extra cars unlocked right away :<

I pre-ordered the normal one not knowing about this shit months ago *cries*

I just looked and the "limited edition" one on Amazon UK is just a controller? No game?

Got my T300 Alcantara cleaned up and ready to go. It's been to the side since DiRT Rally came out for Rift. Not going to bother with VR this time though, racing in VR is intense to the point of fatiguing for me.

It unlocks cars, but they aren’t exclusive cars, so it really depends on if you want a head start on that.

I went digital even with a higher price because the convenience of doing a quick race without swapping discs outweighed the Prime discount for me.

Alright this game finally broke me. I finally got a wheel. Got a T300RS GT edition and was playing around with it in Dirt Rally, Driveclub and Project Cars while I wait for GT Sport tomorrow. I have never driven a car and developed a somewhat fear of actually driving in real life due to having only played driving video games. I dodn't bother getting a license due to this. Hoping this game can cure me of this fear. So far, driving fast makes me crash to everything and is kinda making me freak out. Driving at a real life speed is somehow okay. I am pretty decent with driving with a controller from playing so many racing games though.

I was supposed to get the G29 but I heard the T300RS has much better feedback. Is that failure rate on the T300RS really a thing? I thought I read somewhere that much newer versions have a lower failure rate.

Man, I remember being in the beta earlier in the year and thinking...there’s so much terrible online lag, there’s no way this is going to work. Cars were skipping and jumping around everywhere.

What a huge improvement the demo was. It’s like it was a totally different game. I had zero lag on all my matches.
Me too, I was astounded how flawless it was. No warping, nothing.

For comparison's sake, here was one of my experiences during the closed beta.

The only thing keeping me from the T300RS is the alleged failure rate. It's hard to ignore so many 1-star Amazon reviews.

GT Sport PSVR Bugatti Vision, Nürburgring gameplay

What's with the straight cut gear noise and drive line lash? I doubt the Bugatti vision concept car has an identical drivetrain sound to a forumula racer with no sound proofing and a gearbox for track work but maybe I am wrong either way it sounds like they pasted the transmission noise from another car already in the game i have heard it already.

This T300 sale tomorrow has me shook. I don't have this damned money.

Did you get to try the motion control?

I can't afford a wheel either but the motion control turned out to be excellent and that's cheered me up. You get speed and accuracy and muscle memory build up that's more like a wheel than a thumbstick.

I'm not saying it's a replacement for a wheel, but i'll be playing that way and not missing a wheel as much.

Was the demo supposed to be playable for a limited time only?
I had downloaded it but today it says the demo can't get online (even if my PS4 is connected). Or is this an "online PS+ only" game??

This is so true, i tried the motion control as a joke but after few labs I started making better times than with analog stick, it's actually really good but the downside your shoulders are gonna get tired really fast and you can't scratch your face when you have to lol.

It's so much fun and I'm slightly peeved I didn't discover it earlier in the demo. Come Tuesday, though, it's all motion all the time.

So what I ended up doing was holding the DS4 somewhat flat and then pulling up each side instead of steering it. The benefit? Increased motion, and being able to palm it with one hand which gave me momentary freedom lol.
