Except him getting SS made complete sense, unless you didn't watch that episode (it's among the best in Super imo). Vegeta clearly stated base Cabba was powerful enough to at least battle against his base form too, so he helped Cabba by enraging him and making him ascend beyond his base. SSB is a whole different thing.

Edit: You edited in Kale and Caulifla later, which I was not talking about because I believe the execution regarding how they go SS could've been handled a lot better, instead of the tingly back shit they did.
