Best Opportunity Ever to Start Playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper

I don't know why you're confused. Some games do not save your account information at all server-side, despite the fact that you can (and usually do) purchase items through microtransactions. This means that if you ever delete the game from your device, all progress and purchases you made are gone forever.

So imagine you bought a game on your Xbox and the DLC for it, but if you deleted it you lost that DLC forever. But it's actually worse than that when it comes to loot boxes, because

1) there's no limit to how much you can purchase, making the need to keep it on your device more insidious, and

2) you can't even purchase your items back 1-to-1, so would need to buy a ton just to (maybe) get back what you had before.

To be clear, I'm fine with games that are single player and don't have MTs not having cloud/server-side storage. But when you start charging for things in-game that are lost when you delete the app (or your device is broken), that's when I start to have an issue.

Hopefully this clears things up.

Either way, not sure this is the right thread for it as I haven't played FFRK and don't know if it has this specific issue (although, like you said and I acknowledged, it does have a FB option.) I meant this more as a quick aside, as it reminded me of issues in similar mobile titles.

You're conflating something you don't agree with onto something else you don't agree with just to beat a strawman over the head with terms like 'insidious'. PAD has had a similar account migration option since 2014.

Plenty of non-gaming applications allow you to log in via facebook as a convenient alternative.

I've started playing again a few months ago and I feel like I've hit a huge wall. I can do 140 consistently and some 160 as well but anything above is just plain impossible. I've got a few level 99 characters and quite a few nice SBs (group heal, overstrike, etc.) but even with that and Wall/Full Break/Shout etc I just can't survive being hit for group 2K+ every other turn.
Watching Youtube I feel like I need to hone a lot more abitilites, but with the slow trickle of Major Orbs (or even converting the lower ones), I don't see myself ever catching up (some Nightmare dungeons seem to be insane in term of abillity requirement...). Some fights even seem to require very specific SBs to be able to pull them off...
Apparently they are adding a big update in december which will make Crystal orb more available... hopefully Major will increase as well. In the meantime I think I'm pretty much done with the game.

Come post in the OT. Most of us were at your point one stage or another. A simple screenshot of your set up for the fight you are trying to do helps us assist you in any way we can.

If you're having difficulty in Nightmare fights, all of them are puzzle bosses. Just requires you to find out what the gimmick is.

As for Orbs, we have gotten several buffs to Orb drops. The D140 bonus battles in events give 10 (!) Major Orbs per clear and the Orb dailies drop rates are comparable/better to the special event fests that we've been having over the years.

All of us are happy to help. Come say hello.

I've had this on my phone for a long time, but only played it once. Got through the tutorial and was going mad with boredom. I liked what I saw in BE a lot more. It had an actual story that seemed interesting and the music and sprite work were a lot better. Though once I finished the first mission and got to the Gacha stuff I stopped playing that one too.

I have Mobius on Steam too but haven't given it a try yet. As a huge FF fan I want to play these but I just can't get into gacha. Maybe they'll get retooled as normal games with no micro-transactions after they finish like Final Fantasy Legends 2 is doing.

if you want a crossover retail FF game there's always World of Final Fantasy :V

My big tip for newcomes regarding relic draws (and with there being a lot of banners up right now). With your mythril save 75 and pull on the following banners:
*Dungeon lucky draw
*Crystal tower draw

Those both expire at about the same time (20th). The former is half price while the latter comes with two* bonus relics from a select list which you can freely choose (including several healing bursts which are extremely important to have and age a lot better than attack based bursts) so prioritise the latter.
*-It says one but they made a mistake last week with replacing bonus relics when they said they would not and their solution was to give everyone another bonus

Ironically despite the games reputation for not being a grind early on you'll get so many stamina shards you can perpetually play for hours and having the vast majority of 1.5 years of weekly events as a side dish is insane (especially as some of those older events are around 600 stamina to go through, more recent events are far more streamlined).

Thanks, I'll try posting soon there :)
On a side note, in the meantime I re-installed Exvius because I wanted to see what's up, but reading here that it's super grindy I feel like I won't be really diving into it. Too bad because I love the 2D srpite work in this game!

Day One player here. Finally deleted the app this week. It's just so fucking repetitive. They keep adding power creep features instead of innovating and actually giving the players what we need to stay addicted.

Good luck to those getting into the game. It's a great love letter to FF fans.
Yeah, that's how I felt. It just gets old fast. I appreciate the fan service, though.

Thanks OP. I guess I will give it a try this weekend.
Mobius is like the long lost stepbrother you never knew you had. Eccentric, full of surprises but pretty fun once you get to know him. It's actually probably got the most engaging combat mechanics of the three, especially with multiplayer simulating the typical role-based MMO party with mechanics that actually interlock extremely well. But whew it's also hell of a grind.
That's exactly how I feel about Mobius!.
