Honestly I’m glad Nappa fans are happy. He’s not my cup of tea but I’m sure there are plenty of people who feel that way about my picks. I’m just really sick of people feeling the need to bag on Super and it’s fans. But your right and I wasn’t being much better.

Also screw whoever said King Piccolo as a summon fighter because now I want that and I know it will never happen./s

It's all good, I apologize too if I was an ass.

At the end of the day I hope everyone's characters get announced or at least characters who we all can play in place of the ones we want. We'll just have to see how it all plays out.

I was admittedly a kid when I was watching DBZ weekly, but Nappa was an effective villain.

You knew how strong he potentially could be because of Radditz, then he turns up wipes out the city and starts stomping Z-Fighters, the situation truly seemed hopeless until they agreed to wait for Goku to turn up. Saiyan warrior curiosity, a wonderful plot device lol.

Honestly wasn't expecting Nappa to make the cut given the SS base form for most people, but going the Saibamen route is smart and should make him fun to play. Being a big body is a nice plus too since DB is low on them, could even round out a whole big team
with Broly
.

Ginyu I thought always had a decent chance, I'm glad they're using other members with him. Really curious how body swap is going to work with a game like this, gonna be hilarious.

Heh it sounds like a fun moveset idea. I feel like King Piccolo has probably the highest chance of any original Dragon Ball based character getting in as like DLC or something.

I feel like you've all missed my original point.
Which was that some* people are disregarding major and well established characters from the franchise as "wasted slots", because they're getting in over Super characters, who deserve to be in because they're more relevant currently (due to DBZ being like 20+ years old at this point).

*massive emphasis on some.

Then Goku showed up and kicked his butt without even trying. Goku was always on the way and a real threat to Nappa let's face it. Then Vegeta killed him, his own teammate. Nappa's feats were impressive but he's not on par with Freeza, lol. Still it's awesome him and Capt. Ginyu are in the game, I'm real happy about that.

Knowing how they add all the subtleties in, I wouldn't be the least surprised if you could throw the Namekian frog in the path of the change if it's Goku. Like how Sorbet can shoot his ring if you are using Frieza.

nappa's only real legit kill was piccolo tho
Everyone else died because they were scrubs...

But yes I just rewatched the saiyan saga I agree with you on the real villain part.

Frankly, I start to roll my eyes whenever I hear the word "deserve" when it comes to fighting rosters. All that really matters is what characters have the highest chance of making the roster in comparison to other characters, due to factors like popularity for example.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If people are complaining that these two are wasted slots, then it's obvious that they believe that they don't deserve to be in the game. There's a difference between saying you're not interested in playing them, and that they just shouldn't be in at all over the characters you want.

I'd say potential/variety would be more important than popularity for this game though, just due to how same-y a lot of Dragon Ball characters can get in terms of abilities.

I bet it will be like 16's self-destruct where it can be blocked and only used once. Plus I hear the one who gets body changed on gets recoverable health? So you can at least swap out. Hopefully you can make someone jump on with an assist to take it and leave them with a weakened fighter

Of course if the swap happens with the final character for each side it would suck, but that is the same with 16's move

I imagine it's just going to be a matter of risk/reward. With the Ginyu player having to have the rest of the roster in their pocket to some competent degree, they'll pretty much be relying on the idea that the recipient won't know how to play Ginyu so that they can win.

In theory, I think it's fine. Especially if it's a Level 3 super in a game where meter is a precious resource for more than just supers.

Not because Nappa was the joint antagonist of the first saga of DBZ, and Captain Ginyu and the Ginyu Force were the main antagonists of the Ginyu Force saga/the first half of the Namek saga?

I didn't say they weren't important

Just that everyone so far sans Yamcha and Tien were in the 3DS game as well. It feels they simply used the same roster plus a couple

Which is not a bad thing really

Beerus is the one character from the new Dragonball content that deserves to be in above all others post Z

If Saibamen act as Jack-O's minions then I'm all up for it. I ruled out Ginyu since 18 already had the summoning gimmick, tho I guess 18 would be kinda closer to a puppet character while Ginyu is full on Captain Commando.
