Dragon Ball Super |OT9| Genki-Drama

The Shadow Dragon saga had the potential to be great. I wouldn't mind them doing a similar premise with having to track down a group of villains but having the Z-warriors (do we still call them that?) split into groups to track and fight them rather than just having Goku beat them all. Give me a chump team of Tien, Yamcha, and Chaotzu trying to take down a dragon.

The Shadow Dragons was a fantastic idea that was completely botched on every level.

Either Piccolo or Gohan has to go so one of them can be their own character in this tournament. I don't care which one, but Piccolo should at least get his own episode when he isn't attached to Gohan.

piccolo is going to go out with both the u6 namekians

you heard it here first

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Gohans entire character arcs have always been based on slow bulds to eventual pay offs its meaningless to be impatient

Why do you want them dead though?

Soo how come Shin never wished back the other supreme kais lol

I'm also wondering where they are. Elder Kaioshin was dead for a little while after he gave Goku his life and just continued chilling in the Kaioshin Realm.

The warrior guy and the fat guy probably completely merged into Buu or something, but I don't see what happened to the female Kaioshin for example.

Also wondering why U7 had so many Kaioshins, the other universes seem to only have one with maybe one apprentice.

Dragon Ball AF. Believe!!!

Or had Buu spit out the one that's still alive. Wait, Buu absorbed 2 of them right?

The fuck Buu, spit them out.

When Goku and Vegeta went into him, they didn't see those two at all, so maybe they were absorbed completely because it's been so long.

Doesn't explain where the female Kaioshin and the old Kaioshin with the sword went though. They should be sitting somewhere in Heaven with a ring above their heads right now.

You know, as much as people poop on Yamcha getting railed in the chest by Dr Gero, that scene accomplished an intensity that Dragonball rarely has. I think Super is doing a really outstanding job making the tension palpable when Roshi was nearly dying to stand off against much stronger opponents and it's a good narrative dynamic.

It would be way more interesting seeing these underpowered but crafty fighters get cut off from their savior, Goku. It would have been awesome to have seen things like Piccolo, Tien, Krillin, and Roshi having to go hard to take on Tagoma and actually win.

I mean I guess Yamcha is great as a dumb jock joke character now, but like---Tien keeps getting bodied when he could at least make some stands as he did in the past against Sr. Piccolo, Nappa, and Cell.

Huh, you really miss some stuff if you watch the movie instead of the BoG Super arc. All this stuff about Vegeta trying to train to God level and refusing the ritual is new to me.

The Goku vs. Beerus fight is also more interesting imo. Of course not animated as good though.

Also Whis and Beerus are characterized way better.

I really hope at some point they revive the shadow dragon ball idea. It's such an amazing concept and I fucking loved the throwbacks in GT to the wishes. One thing I wish Super had was that in GT the stakes felt a lot higher then in Super. I loved the imaginary of the Earth in ruins and even the last vestiges of humanity being wiped out by Omega Shenron's presence.

A Pretty Panda

fuckin' called it, man
Did any of the dragons relate to their wishes or did they simply mention that they were made from a specific wish, have a flashback, and that's it?

I watched like one of these dragon episodes

I only remember that the one who exists because of Oolongs panty wish was pretty embarrassed and pissed off about it

I belief they made reference to it like the Oolong's wish one. But also that the more powerful the wish was the stronger the shadow dragon. It's been quite a while since I saw it though.

I think there should be a seperate thread for Fanfiction like that (GT, AF and the Super Manga)

kidding :p, well not really :D

I think she's alive and still pregnant with Goku's son Xicor currently. They'll probably work them into the next arc.

Since I've been super into Dragon Ball and Yakuza lately, I made this ToP hype video using Yakuza Ishin's intro song. I think I'm satisfied with the result since it's my second time trying this.

Shumanuki is a good supervisor, Nii and his team are totally fine and have 9 weeks this time, Yashima and Karasawa both do good storyboards, and the director is perfectly competent. The only staff member I'm not a fan of is the writer, Fukushima, but he has also done some good episodes too.

Fukushima is pretty much Super's worst writer, and while every storyboarder is perfectly fine on his own, the fact that there's three of them doesn't inspire much confidence. I feel like the episode will be a bit of a mess production wise. Didn't know that Nii's team had 9 weeks this time though so that makes me feel a bit more hopeful.

I just googled it a bit.

What the fuck did I read.

Actual quote from a wiki: While Goten and Uub were stopping john cena and sanic from robbing a bank, two space pods landed in a wasteland, with popo memerging with The meme team. The two immediately head to find Earth's greatest power and come across Goten, whom they nearly kill and causes a great shockwave around the whole planet. Gohan senses the power and comes to his brother's aid, questioning who Goten's attackers are.

Indeed, What the fuck...

SON OF A FUCKING BITCH.

So they had the chance of making GT not absolutely terrible but decided against it... LOL

Also it's telling that the writers can't consider Vegeta without Goku or Piccolo without Gohan. No wonder the writing was terrible in GT and is questionable in Super. That shouldn't be the case for any of them. They are strong enough characters individually to not need others to be relevant to the story.

People going to be eating some crow when Gohan gets one of the biggest moments this tournament, likely saving all of Universe 7.
Let me have this. Or have Gohan be one of the last standing. If he wins the tournament for U7 the Dragonball fan in me would be happy inside. Fully redeem him after that Buu saga treatment.
