I said next week. Damn it MS. Couldn't you have waited for Monday?
:p

Yep... No games at all. Like, not even one.*

*Except for the same 3rd Party Games that will release on almost every other platform, but those obviously don't count. Already released Games also don't count.

Feels like I'm reading YouTube comments sometimes.
lol literally the 4-5 biggest games of the year coming out between September and December don't count as something to play. I forgot Xbox doesn't have yakuza or Nioh

OH BOY THE XBOX ONE X I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL THE GAM---oh.........well...well then...

I really want to like the thing but there's nothing to play on the system

Maybe I don't pay attention enough, but what games are coming out this Fall/Holiday that are worth playing that are not on Xbox?

Other than Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade, I have no clue what I would be missing having just an Xbox.

I have the x900e, and I am also surprised at how good 1080p content looks. I wonder if having it pass through the One S is a benefit. The TV recognizes all of my cable TV content as 3840 × 2160 even though most channels are only 720p. The One X has a really good upscaler. Obviously the content is not 4K, but sometimes I admit to doing a double take, thinking that it is as clear as the 4K content I stream.

Just can't wait for the One X.
Yeah I think both the 900e and 930e are great allround TVs, picture quality is great, I was watching my wife play Stardew Valley on Switch on the TV and even that looked amazing.
Btw, I used the rtings article for calibration...
x930e calibration settings
x900e calibration settings
...and it became very very good after that. Try it! The image is really natural looking, nothing is exaggerated.

correctemundo. Everything "exclusive" on the XBO that came out after Quantum Break is playable on PC.

Multi-plat games aren't a reason to buy an XBO. They're called multi-plat because they're on...well..multiple platforms. If I wanted to play, idk, say...South Park. I don't need an XBO to play it.

If I wanted to play...let's say Forza Horizon 2 or 3. I don't need an XBO to play it.

If I wanted to play Gears of War 4, I don't need an XBO to play it.

Etc.

I'm trying to find the point here, If you don't think you need an XBO, don't buy one?

It's interesting how when people say why would you play PS4/Xbox One instead of a PC people say that not everybody wants to play at a desk, PC gaming is complicated, etc. However, in pretty much every Xbox One X thread it feels like there's a crowd of people saying "Why would I get this when I have a PC".

I'm gonna be between getting an X and upgrading my GPU to a 1070( from a 750ti) till the day this thing comes out. Yeah, you'd think the upgrade would be the logical move but I kinda want the 4k player and BC.

Can't wait to watch this commercial for Xbox One X, the Ultimate and Most Powerful Games Console and Entertainment System of All Time

Yeah, but they're different crowds. Some PC gamers don't see the point in owning a console. Some console gamers don't see the point in owning a PC.

I cant believe people are still trying to put down the X. The console is for gamers thats who its for. Its for people who want to spend 499.99 for great performance without having to tinker. You pay the money you get a box and you put games on the box. No OS to worry about, no drivers, no OMG AMD performance is bad why, no OMG whats wrong with this game and nvidia, no building, no begging for multiplats (red dead 2), no worrying about a games performance over the game itself. Everyone saying why buy this when all Microsoft games are on PC now.... thats the point. The more people playing the better you are not informing people of some secret that Gears is available on PC. Guess what Halo 6 is going to be on PC and thats awesome bring on the PC population because thats great for gaming.

So I am not missing anything other than the two games I mentioned...

Gran Turismo Sport (released) - Xbox has Forza 7, so these cancel each other out in my mind
Mario Odyssey - I already mentioned this
Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon - Who cares? I played Pokémon Moon a year ago
DOOM VFR - I don't even know what this is. Doom in VR? I'd rather play it in 4K on my Xbox One X
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - I already mentioned this
TES Skyrim VR - I played Skyrim five years ago; I don't care if it's in VR

All the big titles not on XBO.

I have all of the consoles and a gaming PC. Honestly besides VR, LoL, and Warframe I end up using my consoles way more than my PC just for convenience. With my setup it's too hard for me to get my good gaming rig on my TV without messing up my VR setup, and I have never had good luck with Steamlink (I get a huge perf hit)

In terms of ranking it is probably:
1. PS4 pro
2. Switch
3. PC
4. Xbone - Will change when I get the X, since I prefer the Xbox controller, but I can't justify playing multiplats on the Bone.

This the type of misleading that is just shameful. You pick GT and ignore Forza, you bring up old games retooled and ignore perhaps one of the biggest console games this Christmas with PuBG (console gamers can only play it on xbox), this is like trump style misinformation being spread here, there are big titles available on Xbox if your a console gamer (most Gaffers).

I look at Pro as more of a competitor to S than I do to Xbox One X. This is a true 4K console.

This seems quite similar to Sony's dumb comment of 2006 with "Next gen doesn't start until we say it does", which was back then very justly made fun of tbh.

But hey, if native 4K is indeed achieved on a mode for every upcoming game, we're all good.

Savage derail. Teasing the opportunity to be marketed to is dumb, though.

The whole point of the Xbox One X is that multiplatform game now ARE a reason to invest in Xbox. If you want the best console version of every multiplatform game, you go Xbox One X. Period. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons Xbox 360 did so well, & one of the reasons the PS4 is doing so well now.

And please, just stop with the whole PC gaming thing. High end gaming PCs are niche. About 5% of Steam users have a GTX 1070/980Ti or better, which is the rough spec equivalent of the Xbox One X. Not to mention you'll pay nearly twice the cost to build a PC comparable to the Xbox One X.

I can't even get the teaser to display for me. No feeling the true power for me :(. Well, not until November 7th, that is.

Also, folks really need to restrain themselves for the games and PC discussion where it's not appropriate. There's many other threads to talk about that stuff, and Scorpio owners to-be don't need to be constantly reminded of your opinion on how the system fails to live up to your expectations.

Well there goes the usual 'conventional wisdom' that MS would do a Sony and not really advertise their machine. Seems they're going with all guns blazing. I expect non stop blanket ads until launch perfect way to build hype to breaking point.

Knew something would be happening anyone near a MS Store could see they were prepping new ads and stuff inside and have screens setup in store with Xbox One X's

Please point to me where Phil Spencer says that all games on Xbox One X are going to be 4k native.
There you go

When I think about techniques to somehow manufacture a 4K screen like what some other consoles try to do, this is different than that.

Edit: btw I am not questionning how powerful the X is. It is obviously more powerful than a Pro, at $499 (and far more than an S), I am merely pointing out that it is possible that the messaging could very well blow up in their faces (as it should) if they cannot substantiate it in the end.

Exactly! it boggles my mind every..single.. time, what PC has to do with it in an Xbox thread, what are you doing and who gives a flying @$!# about PC tbh in a console thread.

1st party it'll get there, Billion dolla company so don't kid yourself..1 step at a time..plus third party it's where I'm at atm.

You aren't the target audience. If you have a PC, buy the games on PC. Microsoft doesn't care.

Not sure what you're really on about here. Phil & Microsoft never said that every game would be native 4K. In fact, Phil specifically said otherwise several times:

Phil Spencer Interview with Gizmodo/
Phil Spencer said:
We know devs will make other choices like checkerboarding and we'll support all that, but at the base level we wanted to have a 4K native buffer.

Phil Spencer Interview with The Guardian
Phil Spencer said:
We're not dictating that that's what developers do. They can make other decisions with resolution and framerate, and the Forza stuff we have shown was running at 60fps, 4K. You'll have people who do that, and you'll have people who'll make decisions to do less than a native 4K frame buffer.

Phil Spencer YouTube Scorpio Interview
Phil Spencer said:
Scorpio is a 6 teraflop gaming machine, which will be a great gaming machine for true 4K gaming, giving you a native 4K frame buffer so you can see games in all their beauty. Or, if developers want to use those 6 teraflops in other ways they're free to do that.

Many of his quotes came well before Scorpio was even officially called Xbox One X, so it's not like they changed the narrative somewhere along the way. The message has always been that the Xbox One X is a 4K capable console, but that it would be up to the developers to take advantage of the horsepower any way they see fit.
