4K/HDR/Atmos gets added for Xbox One X on November 7th while 4K/HDR gets added for PS4 Pro on the same day.

Nice! Good to hear, I was sure it was going to be one of the drawbacks of having less power than the Xbox X.
Hows the particules/sand when in the desert? Wind affecting any of it?
How's the framerate and popin?
Framerate has been stable so far but definitely dips during cut scenes.
Will report on that later.

My hype levels for the whole AC series have fallen precipitously in recent years.
I enjoyed Syndicate for a few hours but eventually that trademark AC cut and paste mission design killed it for me.
The historical aspects of AC are still fantastic but the series is in desperate need of a total reboot.

Just pre-ordered PC version from GMG ($48) after seeing PC footage in that other thread. 60fps put me over the edge on that version.

Sounds very good. You can run by holding the left analog forward.
Would it be possible for you to check the HUD options and see if highlighting it and then pressing X allows you to go into more options or is it truly only four options like I have seen in videos?
Also, could you post an image of the Legacy Control configuration? It would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure if I'm the only one with this mindset, but I'm going into this game like if I don't like it, I'm probably done with the AC series. I mean, I've always liked AC, its act just wore thin on me and ever since ACIV, I haven't really liked it. So if this revamped, reimagined AC game doesn't do it for me, it's probably time to bail on the series.
So hope I really like it. It looks like it has promise.

The four options are - "show all", "light", "minimal" and "all off". I'm going to see which does what between light and minimal. Below is what I was hoping to have on and off.
OFF
1. The white glare that goes around the rims of the screen. I have hated this shit since the beginning and get so turned off when watching videos so I can imagine how it will be when im playing.
2. The detection meter completely.
3. The compass.
4. All the notification text that appears in the middle of the screen such as "press UP to call Senu"...I literally saw this message stay on screen in a centerstrain video for 15 seconds while he was still traversing and I only think it went off because he called for Senu.
5. The numbers that appear when you hit an enemy ala Division.
6. The big icons that appear in the game world that's not a waypoint. Like seeing the "?" or whatnot while exploring but yet, it's 800M away. The previous AC games also had this and I was always able to turn it off.
7. The info box that appears on the right side of the screen once you acquire a skill, etc.
8. Any other info that appears in the middle of the screen during combat, etc.
ON
1. Health bar (even though I don't like that it's just a straight bar and in the bottom middle of the screen).
2. XP/Level Bar/Icon on the top right corner.
3. Current Objectives in the top left corner.
4. The loot info that appears on the right side of the screen in a little box. Coins, skins, etc.
Also wish you could turn off when you're low on health and the screen starts desynchronizing becoming all warped and whatnot. Never liked this. Oh well, hoping light or minimal actually does what im hoping but im not holding my breath.

Do enemies "re-spawn" after you clear an outpost/fort/location or does it stay cleared? And does loot "re-spawn" or is it all just one and done?

Enemies re-spawn after a while, the map will always show you that the camp/outpost/fortress is cleared though.
Not sure about loot, but nothing has re-spawned thus far.

Yeah I was deciding that too, I went with PC though which is hooked up to my 4K TV anyway. I got the deluxe edition 20% off from the Uplay store, it's the same price as standard.

I just found out that Best Buy found a way to combat people getting games early. They now wait until the day before release date and use overnight shipping due to vendors hitting them with fines. New company guidelines. Why does everything good go away? Lol!

So the camps, etc. are like Ghost Recon Wildlands? Damn it. Happy that the loot doesn't re-spawn. Thanks for the info and hope that you're enjoying the game.

This is the first time in years that I'm excited for an Assassin's Creed game. Just found out that this is the first AC game to bring back the tombs that have been missing since Brotherhood, and they were my favourite part.
i was (and still am) pretty hyped over what i've seen... but Elex (in spite of all its issues) scratched my open world rpg-ish itch so i'm kind of wondering what's the point since i'll be playing that for awhile.
kind of bummed because i really wanted to see my 1080 ti tear into the game but i can't really justify picking it up until awhile. maybe if a black friday deal drops it below $40 or whatever

The world looks amazing, but I'm a bit disappointed by the urban areas. They feel empty and to.. clean and idealized.

Amazon shipped it early getting mine later today..just need my X man, another week and all these good ass gms dropping now and nzt week.
GAF doesn't have a very large AC fanbase. Just wanna explore this world.
And just the QoL features made to the gameplay make it incredibly exciting for me let alone the overhauls.

I'm in the same boat, and I spoke to customer service and they basically said that the code won't be active until 9:00PM pst. So basically when it goes live at 12:01 est Friday.
We only have PS4 Pro videos, so it can't really be ours. Thanks for looking out though
