Yes and it was a smart move. They wanted to give you reasons to stick with the PS4 ecosystem since Sony will lose the technological advantage very soon.

Of course Sony has to compete with Microsoft for mindshare. They can't be too complacent when dealing with an opponent who has bottomless amounts of cash.
From the perspective of a consumer though I don't think they have much to be afraid of. There seems to very few compelling reasons to own this new Xbox. Bearing in mind, I say this as a person who already owns a PS4 Pro, Switch and a gaming PC. Maybe it will be appealing to people not so well stocked for options.

MS need to deliver where it counts though, with games. The trouble is they have no forward thinking concepts and have been left behind. I dont think they will ever recover from this, and with Nintendo going from from strength to strength they are now last in a 3 horse race when for the past few years it was only really them and Sony and they trailed massively when it was just those 2. MS are fucked in the games industry, but they will keep trying which is a great thing for the competition and us as consumers. It wont be long before the 1X sees a price drop, which will, rightly so, piss off all the early adopters, and it will make their situation even worse probably.
Give me ingame footage please, I like to see what's so amazing, I missed it. I only can find some kind of video without ingame footage.
I hate it when they don't show ingame footage, I really do. Sony always does it, and it's misleading from them.
They need a heavy hitter like Knack 2. When MS are releasing stuff like Cuphead, it really just shows a lack of integrity and faith to gamers. I just feel more culturally aligned with Sony.

I'll say they were happy to try and steal some launch thunder from Microsoft's One X but I wouldn't think they'd delay announcements for this purpose. If anything I think they would have a strategy of staggering announcements over the year in general as it gives the impression of a lot constantly going on as opposed to putting all their eggs in a single basket.
Rolling year round announcements get people talking about the platform and its upcoming new titles year round as opposed to just once with E3. This seems to have been Sony's 'MO' for a few years now.

This is typical with a teaser. Sony has upwards of four major first-party games (DET, GoW, Days Gone, Spidey) releasing in the next 12 months that have shown gameplay. TLOU2, Death Stranding, and now Ghosts are still clearly in the tease phase.
Dont worry. The gameplay will come.

It was the week of a major conference, of course there were gonna be games no matter what else was going on. If they were the least bit concerned about MS, they would have had some price cuts.

Why would i regret an X when im buying for best place to play multi-plats..exclusives will come tho its not a priority for me, never was..in the mean time Pro got me covered with few (UC,H:ZD & TLOU) exclusives I'm feeling it, and that's it.

The Xbox One reddit top discussion yesterday with over 1k votes was controller colours, said a lot to me that. That's not the Xbox I loved over the years. Will be a great day if they ever reach the potential they are capable of in the games department, not a knock against Sony, they are doing great there, studios, momentum, quality, what you would expect from a system four years in.

I really doubt that, there's no pressure at all to release a PS5 any time soon. They could go on until 2020 at least, and just phase the base PS4 out in favour of the PS4 Pro.

Yup, it's usually a good move whenever companies do this. They reassured people that there's still a lot to look forward to in the future when Xbox is starting to build significant goodwill.
