Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty | Review Thread

I don’t get you man, do you want to remind everybody how bad the game was at launch and no one should play this expansion or you want more expansions?? You make no sense I feel like you didn’t sleep well or something
I have no issues with people being excited about the expansion, I am also looking forward to it. I just find it amusing that people are touting these review scores as proof that CDPR is the best RPG developer in the industry or people comparing current state Cyberpunk to another certain RPG that just released a few weeks ago.

I'm playing starfield now (60h?) and I like it but based on CP2077 (base) this expansion will be much better in almost every aspect.
Even base cyberpunk at launch was a much better and less buggy experience than starfield on my end.

I never had bugs that fucked up hours of progress because a character didn't wanted to speak with me or because he phased throught the fucking floor in cyberpunk.

I am. I've been looking forward to it since I finished my first playthrough of the game years ago. However, I was bummed out once I learned 2 of the 3 planned expansion had been cancelled. Seeing people praise the dev team and the game as the second coming of Jesus for releasing a quality expansion without mentioning that most people have been waiting for these 2.0 features for nearly 3 years is what is grinding my gears a little.

From ign review:
At the intersection of (character) performance and technology, CDPR has found something in Cyberpunk 2077 that can genuinely move you.

And really thats where I am with cdpr, they craft these characters, dialogue, atmosphere and world building to create something deeply emotional for me to engage in. I remember tearing up when Geralt look to the camera in Blood and Wine after my 500 hour playthrough. They just get it man.

Truism. Base PS4 Cyberpunk never crashed on me once per 1-2 hours.

Now Starfield....

I usually never jump back into games for DLC. I just hate having to relearn the games and everything all over again. I may do it with Cyberpunk. I enjoyed the world, and felt like I stopped playing with a lot more to do. I just wanted to move on to other games. This gives me an excuse to go back in and finish a lot of the stuff off.

Reviews say the skill trees have been totally revamped. What does that mean for your character, that it resets all their abilities?

So what if they weren't native? How does that make them trash? Still playin at 60fps which can't be said for Starfield

You bein a clown
People purchased brand new $500 consoles in 2020 to have all the bells and whistles available to them, especially for games that released during the launch period like Cyberpunk 2077. If you think running Xbox One/PS4 codes at unstable 60fps was a justifiable experience for these brand new console owners, then I need to take some clown lessons from you.

I genuinely love this game and even when it was released I loved the atmosphere and feeling but let's not kidd ourselves. The way it was released in 2020 was a complete and utter disgrace. It was like taking a turkey out on Thanksgiving when it is only half cooked. The pieces of meat that did cook are delicious but it is still a half cooked turkey. I am glad they were able to save this game but it should never happen again. This is what the game should have been on release.

I played the game at launch. My gamertag is linked to my GAF account, so if I was lying it'd be easy to prove.
You did not play the game. Why are you now lying? Anyone who played it will tell you you're bullshitting. And your "proof" is a DF video released two days after launch when the patch history shows they released four patches launch month alone that addressed stability issues.

The 60fps was solid on next gen consoles at launch. Two people who actually played the game are telling you so. Why are you being a blind hater weirdo?

Played CP2077 last year on PS5 after finishing Witcher 3 and I thought it was already really solid. This update and expansion really seems to deliver that game everyone was hyped for when it was initially revealed.
I will probably wait with buying it a while (I wanna replay the whole game from scratch as welll) but I'm really happy CD Projekt has managed to turn it around because things really looked dire for a while there.

I’ve been bitching about Cyberpunk a whole lot since release, but I must admit I’m happy that they’ve managed to turn it around.

Well done, CDPR!

Maybe if there’s a good deal on the whole package I’ll buy it again some day.

I have over 100 hours played in the game and I earned my first achievement on December 11, 2020. I never played the game though...

People cried for a premium product price so they ended up with 2 cheap ass boxes, too late to cry because they can't reach a 3000 dollars pc level of performance.

whoever bought a 500 dollars box expecting pc bells and whistles is a moron.

Consoles are always about big compromises except with some rare exclusive games.

I wasn't expecting ray-tracing, but definitely not an Xbox One settings only with higher resolution and FPS either.

Higher resolution and fps are a bitch to handle dude, even on pc.

That + rtx was too much to handle for these console and maybe they didn't had time to optimize.

Like i said, only good first party studios are gonna squeeze 110% from these consoles.

The game was nearly unplayable on consoles for 6+ months and received 90+ Metactric score. It was so bad there wasn't even a native PS5 or Xbox Series S/X version of the game made available for over an year after launch. Current-gen console owners were literally stuck playing Xbox One/PS4 upscaled versions at sub 30fps. Would have probably been in the low 70s had it been an Xbox exclusive.
Cyberpunk has a metacritic score of 57 on PS4 and 61 on Xbox One. The console reviews arrived later because CDPR purposefully did not send out review codes for these versions.

Even the PC reviews mentioned bugs and a number of them gave the game 7 or lower.

Does anyone playing this in VR see any differences in performance? I know with my 4070ti it wasn't great before but worth it.
