They really do, I agree. This became painfully clear in RDR2 too after a while. I love the game, but the story missions are absolutely not my favorite part of it. The other day I watched a video by Jakey or something and he explained it really well.
He said that after GTA 3 it became less and less player freedom during missions. He named one example in 3 where in a mission he had to chase after a dude a long time. But instead of a long chase, he decided to get the enemy's car, rig it with a bomb in the shop and put it back so the enemy would drive off and then booooom.
This kind of possible stuff later indeed became less and less, and it shouldn't. He showed RDR2 during a sneaking mission. He thought it be cool to climb up the building and enter sky a window, but the mission already failed, because it's basically Rockstar's way or no way.

It is nice that it seems like we will be enter buildings. I feel like in GTA4 you could enter more buildings than in GTA5.

Jason stood out to me in the trailer for some reason, it took me a little bit to put my finger on why. At first I thought he looked vaguely familiar. Then I realized, he just reminds me of the general GTA 4 character design style. Jason seems like a modern/realistic evolution of that super-duper stylized almost cartoony look GTA 4 characters had. I don't really notice it with any other characters though, just him.
His hair[line] just stands out to me. In a trailer with absolutely insane hair tech you suddenly get this guy with his ps3-style haircut.

If the leaks are to be believed, the map in GTA VI isn't considerably larger than Los Santos. If the map design is just GTA V with better graphics that would be very disappointing, for me at least.
A sandbox with increased density and interactive elements is the only way to truly impress imo, especially with open-world games having been the norm since the release of GTA V.

Well as it happens I found myself jumping back in GTA 5 to replay story mode after nearly 10 years past 2014 PC release.. and woah god damn this sucked me right in way more than I ever expected this time around.
It's very nice to play it maxed out 120fps fluid on a modern PC
Oh yes and the personal Van Halen radio just puts it to a whole different level of awesomeness! Suits the city perfectly!!

Yea, it’s clear who’s wearing the pants in their relationship. I’m very excited to experience the world Rockstar has been cooking up the last couple of years, but this is clearly a very strong-woman focused story. Jason will most likely be a beta male.

I mean, Rockstar saying they won't punch down on certain groups is one thing, it's unfortunate but not the end of the world. But don't do some annoying bullshit to main characters please.

Yep, mods can only do so much until they hit an engine limitation.
Even GTA5 with every realistic mod added fails to look better.
