Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC May 16th

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Is the game actually good tho?
It took the Assassin's Creed open world formula, but set it in historical Japan. The game has huge amounts of atmosphere, complex characters, and a fun stance-based battle system that's more involved than what Assassin's Creed does. Fun upgrades, an equipment system that allows for good build variety, and excellent traversal. The side quests are actually interesting, and typically have good rewards - some side quests even build on others to make for like... side-story... arcs?

One part of the story in particular was a massive emotional gut punch for me, which is why I'm hesitant to replay this on PC. But the fact that it had such a lasting impact on me (I played it 4 years ago) should tell you that the story is actually pretty damn good.

It does have some bloat that's common in the genre, and can turn into a bit of a collectathon if you let it. Another negative is that by the end of the game, after having unlocked all the skills and equipment, there was no challenge. I could walk into a stronghold full of enemies and slaughter them all easily without any strategy whatsoever. But that's also pretty common in the genre and is probably akin to "over leveling" in JRPGs, since by that point I had done all the side quests and had the best equipment in the game.

Overall though, highly recommended. Doubly so if you're a fan of open world games like Assassin's Creed.

They can keep it, 10 ass creeds on PC are enough
I was planning on playing one of the recent AC games but with this announcement, GoT also becomes an option. What, in your opinion, are the major shortcomings of GoT compared to the open world AC games?

It's not about being exciting or "boring", it's about offering PC players the ability to play an incredible game with the best settings possible.

Huge win for PC players.

When you bought a playstation for the same reason you bought it the last three decades it could be disappointing tho.

Everything went up in price and the offering got worse. Most sane people would question their "investment" tho.

Gameplay wise this has always just looked like Assassins Creed: Japan.

As someone who hated Odyssey and Valhalla, is this game actually better? Valhalla for example reviewed well, but the gameplay loop is like 60 hours of rinse and repeat and it's just not worth the ending.

Is this gameplay loop actually better? Just more of that type of open world rinse and repeat loop?

That’s exactly what it is, but it doesn’t try to sell you microtransactions or exp boost. But Japan, Katana, and Sony level production… masterpiece 10/10 game.

Then I'll pass I guess if that's exactly what it is. Valhalla I played because it reviewed well, but was just a mindless loop of do some quests, collect some treasures and follow a main story quest for 3 hours to finish a territory then do the same thing again... for 10+ more territories. It was so painfully boring.

I didn't mean it in the context of being ported to PC. Good for those players

I meant that these days they only announce ports, remakes and remasters

Another one bites the dust hahaha what a joke. Who's keeping tally of that Nvidia leak? How many are left? Sony will give it all up to the PC soon. Tell me why I should buy a PS5 when I have a 7950x3D and RTX 4090?

Tag, you're it.
Now a good thing would be to sync saves between PC and Consoles, so I could pick up were I left and do the expansion.

Anyone can play on whatever platform they want, at the end we are all here to enjoy games. Be better.

Gran Turismo 7 & Demon's Souls are the only ones left from the Nvidia leak. After that we enter the realm of the unknown.

- Ghosts of Tsushima
- Helldivers 2
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Ratchet & Clank
- Returnal
- God of War
- Sackboy
- Uncharted: Legacy of thieves

You really think those that waited 4 years for GoT will suddenly go and buy a PS5 for GoT 2?

It is that good, yeah.

But, it's not a PC gamer's game. I think it won't sell that well there - but those who do enjoy it won't want to wait 4 years for the sequel.

GoT 2 will be big news on console though - probably enough to warrant a PS5 edition.... maybe even a PS5 Pro bundle.

Amazingly the leak must had been years ago.

So it shows Sony and Nvidia were both already working on these games going PC way before they are announced or launched for PC. So a game like ghosts was already being worked in for PC in like 2022 or whenever that leak came out.

Thank fucking god it's not ported by Iron Galaxy.
Still makes me laugh that THEY were the ones who got to do Uncharted and The Last of Us, YEAH, sure, the company that badly handled Microsoft's Xbox ports and the bad port of Arkham Knight at launch, they deserve a shot at two of the biggest PlayStation IP's at the time!

Men I am officially dumb as shit. I got a PS4 Pro mainly for this game and still haven't finished it. My main excuse for keeping the damn thing was getting around to it one of these days.

fuck me for buying this playstation expecting exclusives. that was clearly my bad.
They are still console exclusive for a pretty decent amount of time. I do think moving forward that release window for PC is going to shrink but all the same if you can't afford a PC the PS5 will still be the only place you can play them.

I'm not sure how it would impact you. Unless PC is your primary gaming platform and you bought the PS5 for the handful of console exclusives only.

"With ultrawide monitor support, you can take in the expansive terrain and ancient landmarks with a cinematic field of view. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC is fully optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions and even supports 48:9 resolutions for triple monitor setups.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC features the latest performance-enhancing technologies. NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 are available with both upscaling and frame generation options. Intel XeSS upscaling is also supported and if your hardware has headroom to spare, you can use NVIDIA DLAA or FSR 3 Native AA to further boost image quality.

The game on PC also offers extensive controller support. Use Steam Input to remap and customize the peripheral of your choice to your preference. For a more immersive experience, use a PlayStation DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, so you can feel the tension of drawing a bow and the strikes of your sword. "

Checks all the boxes. None of this waiting for weeks to find out what is or isn't supported.

Finally, I will get.
At this point only Bloodborne is missing, maybe with the remake it'll arrive.

Just in time to get the PC boys appetite whet for the PS5 day and date only release of Ghost of Tsushima 2 during the summer PlayStation showcase

Nobody follows that absurd Trojan horse theory of releasing a game on PC and they drop their rig and buy a PS5 for the sequel. If that was the case, there wouldnt even be Horizon FW, Helldivers 2 or whatever other sequels on PC because they would had already transitioned over. And if PC followers were so big coming over PS5 forecasts wouldnt be missing by 4 million systems last earnings report.
