I had Nov 13th on the page back, but if it's only for members than no biggie.
3 cities would be ideal, and not unrealistic, I mean in comparrison to GTA you could have
Los Santos - As big as Alderney + Bohan
City #2 - As big as Algonquin
City #3 - As big as Bohan + Dukes
Multiple medium sized and highly detailed cities + expansive countryside >>>>> 1 massive city

And I think I like the idea of just one huge Los Santos.
For the release date, i'm going to have to say October 2011. Practically every single 3D GTA has been released in October.

While it's probably true, it's still more of a go-to marketing thing, everybody says their next game in a series is bigger and better.

I'm definitely going to replay the GTA4 DLC. But for now I've been revisiting GTA San Andreas for the last 2 days. Mostly out of nostalgia. Not playing missions, just doing stuff like flying the planes, jumping random vehicles off Mt.Chiliad, and goofing around. Still fun!

It's quite realistic to expect this at the end of next year, but I have an inkling it might just be next May. Just for kicks.
(And I expect the PC version will again be six or so months behind)
Also, completely OT, but I just recently bought EFLC after this trailer reminded me that I hadn't actually bothered to play them, and am currently plodding through The Lost & Damned. In the last mission I played,

I like causing mayhem in the cities. Your idea of non-stop entertainment is my idea of entertainment that's been stopped. They removed what I enjoyed doing outside the main story, making the game worthless to me once I'd completed it, unlike the previous GTA's.
GTA IV put it back.
But yeah, to each their own, which is kinda what I've been saying anyway
For what it's worth though, I did enjoy SA's story and characters, so I got my moneys worth at least.

With GTA IV and the EFLC seeing the story from multiple perspectives was so cool. I imagine Rockstar really enjoyed that too, but the expansions did not do nearly as well as the main game. That must have been disappointing from a storytelling perspective. If the rumor of multiple playable characters for V is true I think it's a reaction to that. And if that's the case I hope they let you play through each characters campaign individually (and with the option of alternating). It would create a unique experience for each player, especially if your actions as each character affected the other stories. That would certainly be a "bold new direction" for the series.

But LA is by its nature a large spread out city. Also don't forget it's highly likely the map will include LA's smaller satellite towns like Long Beach and Anaheim, possibly San Diego.X26 said:

I'm hoping for at least a RDR sized map, but obviously more densely populated. Based on this, and if you believe that the trailer supports a more elongated map (covering more of the coast and less inland) the southern boundary could be the International border while the northern boundary could be one side of an inlet created by a cliff face, which characterize the Californian Central Coast. As a minimum I expect Anaheim to Malibu.
