ND Got GAF Feedback Re: UC3 Aiming Issues, Cutscene Viewer, Animation Changes Coming

So by the time the patch is out nobody will give a shit about it anymore. Not that I'm complaining because I understand there's actual work behind these updates and they take time.
But then again, the game shouldn't have been released in that state and this patch comes too late. It's cool for people that who haven't played the game yet, but not for me who paid full price on day 1 and have beaten the game already.

Yup, all I'm saying.

It's up to you dude. I'm still playing Co-op Adventure. I don't know what the patch includes. It's supposed to be big.

I may also do a second run with 3D on.

I just wish they would release some information on what's in the patch instead of waiting for certification. I mean, are they really worried about the content of the patch changing due to certification?

I even bought the shitty fighting game and DS game because I loved the series so much. :(

Damn right. And it just struck me how Damian Wayne there looks like he could be a Viewtiful Joe character, although that might just be Cameron Stewart's art.

The Earth is in danger one last time, Capcom. Captain Blue said so ;_;

Speaking for myself here, but I don't regret spending $60 on Skyrim day one, UC3 I do.

I've played Skyrim (360 so no save file issues) and UC3 for about the same amount of time and the aiming issue is by far the most annoying bug I've experienced in either game. You can try to trivialize it all you want but it's an issue that has negatively impacted a lot of people here. Not to mention the fact that you're comparing a massive open world game with a non-linear structure to a completely linear game.

Do you really want to know what's annoying? It's playing a game that literally turns into a slide show once your save file gets too big.

I sure hope they surprise us with the patch tomorrow. It would be so nice for everyone to be able to experience the game properly during the extended weekend. At least in the U.S.

Not actually that important
This post has many great points, and I agree with you (except for the anger, although I get where that's coming from).

Thanks. :)
Although I assure you I wasn't angered nor my intention was to convey that feeling, and definitely not for the game/patch itself despite others in this thread trying to sway my post that way (posted plenty ITT and you won't find any about being pissed about the patch, delays and such) . You shouldn't read it with Amir0x's "PS3-is-done".mp3's satirical voiceover :p
English's not my first language and I guess that can sometimes mess with the intended tone of my posts.
Seriously, no hanger, but disbelief a-plenty. The proper tone was more on the lines of "Holy Cow, *LOL*, so fucking appalling": some gamers are so embarassing in their walk-all-over-me my lords attitude that it makes me sad and laugh at the same time; reading those cringeworthy replies "be thankful blablabla etc." is what triggered my reply.

Anyway, back to waiting for the patch.
Almost beat co-op adventure in split-screen tonight. I didn't know it was using U2 as a template! Kinda like Rebel Strike having Rogue Leader 2 for its co-op campaign. Wish more games had offline co-op nowadays.

It may lose some momentum, but it's not like games have expiration dates, right? At least not this early.
I was disappointed with the game and yet, i know that when the patch will be up, i'll be gladly do another playthrough.
It's not like 6 months have passed.
But yeah, i agree that it would've been far better to release the game with the aim fixed, 'cause for a game like Uncharted, the first playthrough it's much more crucial than other games'.

I guess Naughty Dog are using the Grace Chen version of "soon".

I LOL'd.

Well, it's kinda too late for me since I already platinum'd the game weeks ago but I am curious to see what the game is like with proper control.

I can't imagine what the shitstorm would be like though if the control doesn't change things much. And don't you dare making the enemy waves easier using this patch, ND! I want everyone else to suffer through those enemy waves as I did!

Saving my Crushing run for post-patch. I can't get over the aiming and it occasionally made the game a challenge even on Easy (I beat UC1 and 2 on Crushing btw).

The patch makes the aiming so much more agreeable that Sony Cert Team are taking their sweet time with multiple playthroughs of the campaign. They fight each other to choose who's going to test the game next. It will finally be released in a month.. or two.

I hope the patch fixes stability issues with the game. It has locked up on me several times, especially during multiplayer.

Very soon...

Huh, I quit playing the game after the first shooting section. I will start playing it again after I am done with Skyrim. The only reason I bought Skyrim was because of this issue and the time they take with getting the patch out. I couldn't care less about the MP.

The cutscence viewer is coming in the patch
@Slimz09 I did! The cutscene viewer should be back in the upcoming patch, it's at Sony QA awaiting approval. Thanks for your support!

Changes to the animation system is coming as well
With everyone out for the holidays it seems the perfect time to plan some large changes to the animation system. #evilhandrubbing

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
If the patch isn't out tomorrow/imminent release date stated, sending the game back and I guess I'll play it some point in the new year. Disappointment of the year, no contest.

Unfinished game is unfinished. Since this is a discussion forum, thought I'd state tomorrow as the limit for my patience and off it trots unless the defence force has designs to slit my throat in the night for such publically stated herecy?

Had the game sitting there for pretty much the whole calendar month, I think thats more than a generous amount of time to have endured.

I'm waiting on the patch for my crushing playthrough, but it's totally playable. In response to sending it back until its patch confusedjackiechan.jpg Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting skyrim until that's patched but uc3 is far from unplayable.

I'd be in the dick
With this week being a holiday one I expect the patch to be approved for the week after the next one.

Last week was a holiday. I think there's a decent chance it might be out by the end of this week. Not getting my hopes up, though.

How is the game in anyway unfinished? Some people had issues with aiming and others didn't. Thats why the new aiming will be optional. If this is the way we're gonna look at games now then that means every game I play from now on that has even the tiniest mistake will now be deemed unfinished and unplayable. Thats crazy and you know it. Cut Naughty Dog some slac.

Changes to the animation system is coming as well

http://twitter.com/#!/cowbs/status/139154828025794560

It will be fine.

Any idea what this actually means? Like... multiplayer? Drake animations in single-player? Enemies not reacting to being shot in single-player?

I don't even know what to think of it, if it's anything single-player. The aiming stuff needs to be fixed stat, because it's borked, but beyond that it just seems like it might be best to let it go... or you end up with George Lucas syndrome.

Uh changes to the animation as well? I hope they're careful with that.

Yeah, no idea how to interpret that.

With this week being a holiday one I expect the patch to be approved for the week after the next one.

thankfully I rented it on LoveFilm, but used to buy Uncharted games day one. Guess I had a sixth sense over this one, otherwise I'm sure the halls would bellow forth with gusts of my fiery rage. I foolishly believed the 'very very soon' tweet, so the discs just been sitting there for a month, going unplayed and taking up one of my slots. I expected U3 to be a shoe in for my GOTY contenders, but since it seems like I won't get around to playing it this year thats off my list and I certainly won't ever be buying it post-rental like I do all other classics.

I'm sure ND don't give a crap about filthy renting criminals such as myself, but until the games industry actually begins to bother finishing their games before shipping them I'm quite happy not throwing my coin their way.

Ah ok, so you have to return it regardless? I thought that you bought it, so i couldnt see why would return it if you were going to play it in about a month anyway.

When you say that the game isnt finished, are you referring to the aim? Because that was not techincally broken. Just because people didnt like it, doesnt mean that it is broken. But it also doesnt mean that it can be improved of course. But it wasnt something that was unfinished like that. Otherwise they wouldnt have to bring people in and ask for feedback.

One of the bugs I met early on was Drake grabbed a fruit off of a table in a street market. Quickly after he grabbed the fruit, his arms went straight to his side and the fruit just magically floated to his mouth and then back to the table. I didn't know Drake knew the ways of the Force! Definitely took me out of the moment.

True but you have to admit that lacking the cutscene viewer and motion blur, when the former was a standard feature in the first two games, and the latter was a huge aspect of the 2nd game's look, seems a little unfinished'y... no?

Note: I don't really care about the cutscene viewer at all; and even without the blur the game wows visually. I'm not trolling ND here. But this stuff is a little iffy.
