They should just talk about what Eidos is going to do next since there is higher chance of that not being either a remake or a pile of shit.

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
At this stage, woudl there be any point?

Most of the people who WOULD buy these remakes are most likely PS3 only owners anyway, so why bother?

Most of my friends are on the PC and 360 and they still have good memories from PS1 era RPGs. The new JRPGs lost something along the way, so buying the new hardware to play them is of no interest to us. Remakes however are good.

People seem to forget that oldschool FF are portables-bound, it would be quite a miracle if we were to get a Peace Walker-like collection on PS360 with FFX-XII and Type-0 HD.

Ever single interview with S-E goes the same: we are very excited about X, looking into Y, etc., etc. Nothing ever comes out of that. I guess it's a different culture - in the West you won't speak about anything if you are not sure about its future application. In Japan the developers just run wild.

Is SE a turd like Capcom to you yet?

No, Capcom being a turd is only partially related to their apathy towards Sony platforms. Being liars, and the whole MML3 bullshit are much worse (especially given I bought a 3DS for MML3, gah!!).

I wish they would stop cock-teasing remaking any PS1 FF and just do it. Every single person would kill for FFVII in HD and they continually bring it up in roundabout ways but do nothing.

Never have I met a developer that is so oblivious to what it's consumers want.

The FFX HD thing was only talked about at a Sony conference and hasn't been mentioned since. You really think they would talk about an Xbox version then? Why don't we wait until there is actual info on the thing beyond vague talk.

Usually, in cases like this the other platforms would've been announced after the conference ended.

Like Metal Gear Rising being announced for 360, and then Konami saying "hai guyz ps3 too" after IGN ran a story about it being exclusive and junk.

FF7 was published by Sony, You think they'll let Square publish it on Xbox platform?

Ain't happening.

Unless Sony gives SE a compelling argument(money) not to publish, Square Enix won't give two shits about what they think. Those contracts signed years ago are null and void by now.

What? Source or something.
Heard it from another GAFer. I'm trying to find a source. In Advent Children Complete, only the new scenes were apparently rendered in 1080p, while the rest were upscaled. Though I'm finding conflicting info that maybe the old scenes were re-rendered but in a very lazy way. I edited my original post, I shouldn't have said that as fact. I read an interesting tidbit that the movie began production with the intended viewing being on a PSP screen, which has a resolution lower than 480p.

Square holds the crown for the worst PS3 support out of basically every major Japanese developer, I personally don't think there's any doubt.

There hasn't even been a formal announcement of the thing. Let alone an actual announcement of Western release.

Not saying it will happen. Just saying it can happen.

come on, I want to see an x360 ff7 and see the internet explodes.

it'll definitely better than whatever sony secret game at vga.

Well, XIII and XIII-2 are only two years apart so obviously we have to stick to the same platforms, otherwise we would have to give XIII-2 to the people who haven’t played the previous work, he said.

I do not understand what this is supposed to mean.

I'd love to see ports of Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX on XBLA. Would also like Final Fantasy X HD on 360, as well as Final Fantasy X-2 HD and Final Fantasy XII HD on PS3 and 360.

The less third party exclusives there are, the better.
I like having games that are focused on taking advantage of a single console's hardware. Considering how the majority of third party games are multiplatform anyway, I think having a few here and there being exclusive isn't such a bad thing.
