He was fine up until the very end and he probably just got nervous or something. They should have had someone up their with him to back him up just as a precaution if he got tripped up like that. The guy he was with just stands there and does nothing but laugh along with him.

Was actually cool seeing him speak the parts that he did. Got more guts than I would have... I mean standing in front of a huge stage and speaking a language that you aren't necessarily comfortable with. I can barely talk in front of a crowd of 10...

No it's not. Sure that's something that happened, but between 2 and 4, Raiden did many things that are stated in the timeline, before being captured and turned into a cyborg. If you don't think that watching a character deal with the erosion of their humanity would have provided a more interested story that "MY SWORD IS JUSTICE! TIME TO GO SLASH SHIT AND ACT LIKE MGS4 NEVER HAPPENED!" then there's no hope for you.

If MGS4 and PW are any indication, then revealing the specifics of what happened would be handled so poorly that it would retroactively ruin a bunch of older stuff. Kojima is horrible at actually explaining things in a way that doesn't make them awful. So yes, I'd much rather have the ultra self-aware and cheesy Platinum, who make fantastic games, make a game that acts like MGS4 never happened.

I think the "high heels" Raiden wears are shock absorbers to allow him to fall from great heights without taking damage. Also, as has been noted, they act as prehensile thumbs for sword-fighting with his feet.

I guess so. I want another good Metal Gear Solid game with stealth and shit, but that's never happening again. At least Platinum makes really good games, and ultimately the game being fun to play is more important than whatever narrative they wrap around it.
