Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
If UMvC3 can get to $24.99 I'll grab it. I gonna get Wipeout 2048, and Hot Shots Golf. And I'm gonna rent Rayman Origins and Virtua Tennis 4 to start out with.

I need to get a 32GB memory card too. I hope they will have these in stock.

15 days we have left to go for First Edition Bundle. I for one can't wait.

Sony is finally starting to promote it. That is good news, lol.

That's my target price as well.

Those digital prices have to be a mistake. How is HSG more on PSN?

I was going digital with HSG, MarvelvsCapcom and Wipeout. But not at those prices.

Yeah. It looks like Sony raised the MSRP pricing of their originally $29.99 first party games to $39.99 for some reason. It happened a couple weeks ago.

Was waffeling on my preorder, then I decided to just sell my 3DS and get the Vita. I hardly play handheld systems, but if I'm not going to play anything, I'd rather it be the Vita than the 3DS :p

Will be getting the 3G bundle w/ the 8gb card.

Will re-buy 3DS when they release the redesign, which I think will be shown at E3

When did Sony confirm this for North America?

Do we know if the 3G bundle on Amazon is Amazon exclusive or will be available elsewhere? I don't mind ordering it from Amazon, but if I can get it Day 1 physically I'd rather do that.

You still get the PSN game and 250MB of data with the 1st edition bundle.

I just called on this and the GS manager had no clue what this was about. How new is this news on the 1st edition also getting the data plan and PSN game? I'm tempted to call another GS to verify but he didn't even know or believe that you would get more on top of what you got with the 1st edition.

Amazon has release date delivery on it though. You'll get it Day 1 if you select the right shipping.

Announced at the same time as the 3G bundle.

I mean, don't get me wrong -- it's a great game. I just think the standards set by the original would set a precedent. Especially when you consider the mobile market and bite sized games costing around a $1 each. I bought Geometry Wars for a dollar on my iPhone, and it's pretty much the exact same thing as Geometry Wars 2 on the 360 sans analogue stick, button control, and $10 price tag. It would be pretty obnoxious of Sony to go the opposite direction with SSDD and price it above the PS3 release. Unless it is packed with a ton more content that the PS3 version feels inferior in every way.

Ugh, my Gamestop had it stuck behind a plastic case. Employee said they're not allowed to have it out yet for people to play.

No I feel you the most i'd pay for Stardust is 14.99 and that's because I'm a fan but no other PSN game has had more value in terms of playing time than that game for me.

If you were one of the lucky consumers to pre order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date. [

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
Yep, even Krazy Ken mentioned the possibility of a pro-AV grade PS3 that fits in a home theater shelf unit. The problem is with all game hardware, the goal is to streamline the manufacturing as much as possible. The big benefit to keeping PS2 hardware onboard is that Sony and 3rd parties could sell their whole back PS2 catalog on PSN. It's not as attractive if only the early adopters and Pro-AV people can buy them.

I think this can still be a lucrative revenue stream for Sony even if they are not dicks about it and still let us play it if we have it on disk. People will still buy PS2 titles through PSN, just as they do now with other titles available on disk.

I think the convenience of the digital download would even provide good competition against Gamestop's ratty old PS2 section. After all there are no more new copies of these games to buy. The industries ire towards the used game market has more to do with a used copy sitting on a shelf right next to a new release, for $5 cheaper.

And it's not like they didn't already have the manufacturing infrastructure in place to make these PS3's. If they charge $200 more for them, and sell them at profit, who's going to get hurt? Nobody, that's who.

PS I miss Krazy Ken

I believe 8-4 Play tested out the UMD to digital program on the PSP and it does indeed uniquely identify one UMD from another. So it does work the way they state it works.

I think you might be Goin' Ape Spit, Toki. I'm up to date on my 8-4 Plays and they were scratchin' their heads about how this was supposed to be accomplished.

If I'm wrong, link me the article, please.

But if so then it just makes even less sense to charge so much for this service...

I'm sure it was on one of their podcasts. They mentioned trying it out on a game and they were amazed that it worked and yet Sony didn't do anything like that for the PSPGo or to prevent piracy. I'm think it was that half Vita/half MH special they did where I heard it.

Right i've finally sorted out what i want and preordered it.

3G Vita (decided it was worth the extra) - £248 (Tesco Entertainment £269.99 - 8% Quidco cashback = ~ £248) (early birthday present from parents)

16GB memory card - £39.99

Starter Kit - £17.99

Uncharted: GA - £30.47

= £336.38 which isn't all that bad really, seeing as i'll only pay £88.38 of that, and i got more than that in cash for christmas - yay :)

Shall use some vouchers i got for christmas to get some PSN cards too.

Ok that's good. It sounds like it's something automatic then and still voucher based or am I just reading that wrong?

Man I still wish they would have changed the FE from a 4GB to an 8GB. That alone is making me debate about canceling my FE.

I know lol

One of my friends is getting it so I am leaning towards it once again. I was never planning on 2 cards anyways so I'm trying to just talk myself with sticking to the 1st edition even though I still think the launch 3g bundle is better.

I was drunk and was this close to pre-ordering one from Amazon. But I decided long ago to never buy day one. I am also not happy about 3G speeds or data caps. I'll eventually get the wi-fi only version.
Buy the way, why are game cartridges so big? Is it because they are cheaper to make or easier to handle?

PS3 was the only system I bought day one and though a new shiny toy is exciting, I don't like the initial post-release droughts. I'll wait till I see at least 5 games that I really want. By that time, they'd probably fix any initial kinks.

PS. Man, I would've bought one day-one if they had 4G, internal storage and unlimited data...

It says "If you were..." for the preorder for the first edition bundle...does that mean it's not available for preorder anymore? I was going to preorder it this week...anyone know?
i'm pretty sure it just means some places might not be taking preorders for it anymore.

I popped in the local GameStop to check out the Vita, and sadly, it was behind the plastic case. The employee said they are doing the "unveiling tomorrow", so I may stop back up there this weekend if I have time.

However, while I was in the store, 3 people came in to preorder. I think the buzz is starting to get around.
