Next project! Perfect X-Wing companion piece!

God damn it, stop it! I have already looked at the LEGO site 20 times, and am not planning on visiting Target on the way home to compare prices and see if I can save on shipping! This is not fair!
Dude, it was $41 free shipping on Amazon as of yesterday, but it's at full price now.

Just ordered the X-Wing and TIE Fighter at the local B&N. Use the membership and hopefully a few coupons come out this week. That gets them to a hell of a lot cheaper than Toys R Us.

Finished the Tie Fighter. Looks nice, but I don't know, something's missing and I can't quite place it. Hope the XWing is a bit more fun to build.

You're not helping!
If I were you, or if I didn't already buy it, I would put it in my amazon cart and not think about buying it unless the priced dropped again. I can't bring myself to pay $60 when I know it was $20 less a day ago.

I want the X-Wing too but I've been buying too much stuff lately.

Ouch, was planning to go the Liverpool Lego store soon to buy the Pet Shop with the £20 voucher I have....didn't think it would be so expensive! Might stick to something a little cheaper!

Recently got the X-wing, and both packs of Hoth troopers. Maybe a Tie Fighter or a Y-wing?

Oh wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. Never had a big set as a kid but I recently started to buying some. Too bad they are extremely expensive here, I've always been jealous how cheap they are on the US.

The other day I bought an Alien Conquest minifig set + lego rose + lego marrying couple + a star wars mini planet. Grand total = US$80, ouch :(

And so it begins.

My first ever Lego sets. When I was a kid, I only had loose bricks to play with, never got full sets. I found the Falcon and Police station for 50% off today at Walmart, which is apparently a very YMMV deal. They were impulse purchases, I'll sleep on it and see whether I'll want to return them once the rush has worn off.

Very nice and lucky! I went to 5 Walmarts in Orange County and nothing scanned as 50% off. I'd love to get that Falcon for that cheap.

Thinking of picking up a set tomorrow. Cant decide on which one, the Tower Bridge, Imperial Shuttle, one of the modulars, or mini modulars.

Fuck it. If I have money left after paying my credit card with taxes I am getting the Imperial Shuttle instead of an iPad3. Maybe the SSD as well. URGH!

Damn this thread! Especially you, Whitta! I can't escape the Lego on GAF or on Twitter.

I thought that version of the Shuttle is out of print for awhile. Is it available again?

I want to break into gary's house, he'd hear a noise in the middle of the night and see me all in black with a balaclava on the floor building lego

All of them!

Shuttle and tower bridge are huge builds. I'd go for the mini modulate. That'll either satisfy your modular appetite or make you want the big brothers even more. I was the latter

I like the look of the TIE and it complements any SW ships you might have, but it doesn't look a particularly interesting build. I'll be happy to pick it up for free with VIP points though :)

I'm kind of glad I'm not a fan of Star Wars. Saves me a bundle.

Same. No matter how much I try, I can't get excited for Star Wars. It's saving me a packet.

Just spoke to my friend, he's ordered the SSD, Imperial Shuttle, Tower Bridge, The VW Camper Van and a handful of Modulars and Mini-Modulars. Looks like I'll be helping him build them this weekend. Nice.

Yup, I've posted this a bunch of times in this thread already. Star Wars sets just have zero impact on me. And it's not even price - I'd easily spend $400 on a set (Lego addict wooo), but not on a theme I have zero interest in. Tower Bridge was such a simple purchase for me because of how gorgeous the set is. While the SSD is a beautiful model, it's just not my kind of theme.

Wait, Wal-Mart 50% off sale? What are the details about this?

Why doesn't the TIE come with a TIE pilot? It looks like the minifigs are an Imperial Officer and a security guard plus an astromech.

Every store does their own individual sales for Lego. All you can do is go check it out. If they have a scanner, you can just start checking prices, otherwise, they'll have marked down sets in the aisle. They also do NOT match their online prices (discovered this the hard way).

I'm middling on star wars, but I guess I just love nice spaceships. Don't give a shit about the SSD, looks a bit plain. But the x-wing, tie fighter, imperial shuttle, falcon, star destroyer and venator (precursor to star destroyer) are just fantastic ships

Some of the ships do look cool, I would have to agree. But I think it comes down to me rather spending the money on a new building over a ship of some sort. It's too bad, too - Star Wars sets accrue value like WOAH after they go OOP.

I'm quite the opposite of some of you guys it seems, only SW sets tickle my fancy really and unless a set plays nicley into a space themed MOC I don't buy it.

Maybe it's because as a kid I only had space sets.......

A severely ymmv clearance deal. I've gone to three different walmarts and found nothing. One store even had far more shelf space dedicated to mega blocks halo shit than Lego.

I did find the apples to apples card game for $5 though.

It's really a pain in the ass because of the random way sets are marked down. I checked a bunch of sets last night at a local WalMart and found one out of about 10 on the clearance list that was actually marked down.
