Anyone have any escape plan impressions?

Have only played a handful of levels but so far it's nice. All touch-based gameplay as you probably know already. The thing that has struck me most so far is how beautifully crisp the black and white graphics are. It's really great looking...

Really enjoying the vita so far. Wipeout so far has been rough. The first elite time trial seemed almost impossible but after I'd say a couple dozen tries I got it within a .04 of the time lol.

Man, that HSG Lobby...they should have created something like that for the VITA so people can interact.

The future is social, and a lot of the things they're doing with the VITA OS is Social-geared, having a "HOME" on the go would have made so much sense! Here's hoping they add one soon, so gamers can just hang out, especially on the go.

(didn't PSP have a Home like software, only with better looking, chibi chracters instead of the ugly Home style?)

Played some demo's in a store today on a eu vita. 2D games look fantastic on the screen. Might pick up a fighter along with Everybody's Golf next week.

No, PSP had no social stuff at all.

And I love these "hang out" places. Too bad Home was so ugly.

PSP had Room, but it was canceled. The Adhoc Party PS3 "bridge" is also interesting but it's incompatible with Vita I think.

Is this sale underway already? Called a local store yesterday they were not aware of it.

Nope the sale starts Sunday.

I got my first edition bundle from amazon yesterday, my impressions are fantastic system overall, there was tons of menus to go through in the OS which kept me busy for a while, if you are like me and enjoyed going through system OS's ever since the GameCube had that little description of games before you started you will like it. I was a little disappointed with the Uncharted demo and probably wont get that game, although the graphics looked amazing.

Does that date still stand though? NZ and Aussie are PAL territories and we usually get the games the same week, or at the latest a week later and ours (New Zealand) isn't slated till March either.

Amazon says 22nd Feb, GAME says 9th March, HMV says 16th March. So, it doesn't seem to be a launch game, that explains the shortage of reviews then.

Everyone has their opinion, but I'm glad the Vita has DD. It's one of the main reasons I'm getting it. I prefer convenience, even if it comes at a higher cost.

Exactly, I feel the same way. It's so much more convenient when all your games are consolidated on one card.

So far, lots of fun! I was just gonna try it out for a quick minute last night, as I was trying all my new Vita games, and ended up playing it for a solid 45 minutes! It's one of those "just one more room" type games for sure. Awesome visuals too!

Yes. Go to the picture in the photo album thingy. It's one of the options. "Use as Start Screen" or something like that.

Awesome, thanks. Yes, they refer to that as the Start Screen. Learned something today, woohoo.

Can't get enough of this new system. For some reason I've been around for every new system launch since around the NES days and this one just has me really excited. Not sure why exactly but it is.

Bring on more games!...

Nope. No option for that.

Damn, well that sucks.

Regardless, I am beyond happy with the system and that I ordered the FEB. The games I got have all looked terrific on the screen and the quality is there too. There are times when my hands seems to cramp up, but I think that's more of my fault and how I'm trying to hold the system. Once I play around with it more, I'm sure I'll find a more comfortable situation. The FEB case is a tad bit bulky for my tastes, but it does hold everything I need it too, and does seem like a safe option for the system.

The touch screen controls seem hit or miss, though I am enjoying them for Uncharted :) Looking forward to more games.

This thing is amazing.
Glad I got the FEB.
The user interface is incredible. I love how you can easily go from playing a game to chatting with others, then go right back to the game exactly where you left off.

I think the euphoria over this system is due to the fact that a handheld has the same graphics and better controls than a console currently on the market. A PS3 in your pocket with better online, OS, and touch controls. SOLD!

reading through the CAG thread on next weeks b2g1 free deal on Vita games....

it's looking like a setup for massive disappointment, as there are some key titles (namely Rayman and Lumines) that don't seem to be carried in stores.

Also, Lumines is not anywhere on the Best Buy website (can anyone find it?) and Rayman is not being sold in stores at Best Buy.

edit:

Also looks like no Katamari or Shinobido in Targets either.
The scanned ad seems to say it's Online as well, and their website has many (though not all yet) of the launch games.
Stores haven't really started to set up their Vita section which is why some comment that way.

I love Amazon. Just got my Replacement FEB from UPS. No dead pixels or other issues.
That was fast!

They did, but I think it was canceled? It's called Room for PSP.

I think its the same idea as HOME. Something like this for PS Vita would have been nice.

And thanks to this topic, I am not cancelling my pre-order. I was sorta on the fence for the PS Vita, but seeing the almost all positive impressions, I'm getting the hype again.

Just hope the software down the pipeline will be decent!

are we sure thy near is triangulating an individuals right location? People seeing this many people so soon seems odd for me.

Near doesn't work like Streetpass - you do not need to be in the same place at the same time. Near is somehow pinging wi-fi hotspots and checking how many people with VITAs passed in the neighborhood. That's why you are almost guaranteed to get multiple hits.

So Sony got back to me on a help email I sent last night.

I was asking about a save file manager thing like on the PS3 and PSP - where you can see individual saves and copy/delete/whatever. The customer service representative confirmed that there is no way to do that. You can only delete the entire game and all its saves unless the game itself has the option to manage save files.

And then the other 80% of the email was advertising extended warranties to me.

I'm sad...
I sometimes end up with like 20 files for one game. That's going to be annoying to deal with when I can't clean up useless ones.

Yep. Random people coincidentally made up stories about how their cases stunk during their drive back home from picking up their FEB

Haha, you're Austin based right? Let's go do lunch, you can smell my case and....

Wait that didn't come out right.

In other news, my coworker was playing with my Vita this morning and now he's making desperate calls to Best Buy and Gamestops right now.

Feels like a basic feature that should have been there.

On a related note, he said I had to delete the game to delete saves. Well, if my memory card is full and I have to delete games to clear space... does that mean I have to lose my saves for the game too?

Because that would be really bad.

Here is a snippet from the email
The game saves on the PS Vita™ system are actually contained within the application and install data for the game itself. The only was to delete it from the menu of the PS Vita™ would be to tap and hold the icon for the game application, tap the (...) symbol to bring up the options menu, then select delete.

I don't know if I should keep waiting for Taco Bell to eventually screw me over or just go ahead and pick up a FEB.

Also, the non-uniform formatting of that Google doc drives my OCD crazy.
