Hot Shots is asynchronous in the sense that you don't see each other swing. That would take forever. This is like real golf anyways. You're not watching every swing of the tourney anyways. We completed a match in like 20 minutes and no one straggled. It was incredibly fun.

regarding AT&T data plan... How long can I wait before activating the plan? Is it even worth it to buy the first month now?

I'd rather purchase SSD now, than pay for a month, and wait for another 30days for the code.

But isn't this like... playing alone and only becoming aware of the results in the end of the game?

The GameStop girl told me the AT&T promo period is 3 months but I did not verify.

I haven't played the PS Vita version, but on PS3 you see the shots of the other people as trails in the sky as they hit them. And when you're on the green you can see their ball on the green, and see it rolling in. And if you finish before them, you then see the hole with them playing on it.

You get a lobby after every hole to chat it up. It's not like just 9 holes no pause or break. It works great.

Didn't notice anything like that. Then again I was too focused on doing my thing.

Not being able to manage my saves is not minor to me. At all.
It's way slower than how it used to be. A very important feature to me was taken away.
It's a huge deal to me.

WKC for example. I created like 20 characters before I came to one I liked. I deleted those 19 saves from those characters I didn't like. If this was on the Vita? Too bad. 20 saves forever.

And you...
You make me really want to swear right now. "Return your Vita". I just... I do not like you.

Lol, I'm just saying if it's making you that angry then maybe it's not worth it for you?

Anyways, I can't test it out atm but wouldn't you be able to delete saves and whatnot if you transferred the specific game from Vita to PS3, delete whatever files you don't want and transfer back? Not sure if it works that way at all, but worth a shot?

Mine had dropped off of the main order page because they'd been ordered more than a month back, maybe that's why?

True, could be.

Not long now, 6 days! I still haven't decided how I'll get FIFA. Download, Online purchase or a shop. I don't want to spend the full £39.99

Thanks. I will just wait few more days and see if they will do some discount.

You haven't tried added a song to your Vita from a very large mp3 collection. I was hoping to use this for MP3's in my car since my Ipod touch is fucked, at this point I don't think it's worth it to even bother trying. Thankfully that's a relatively insignificant bother to me...

What kind of car do you have? Mine has USB reader that reads any USB 2.0 drive so I just bought cheap 16G USB 2.0 and put in there and shuffle it forever.

Destructoid did a review for Escape Plan.........but Jim Sterling wrote it :(

http://www.destructoid.com/review-escape-plan-221958.phtml

4.5/10

Complains a lot about touch controls unresponsive and not doing what he meant to do. User Error? The demo I played felt very responsive and folks feedback here has not mentioned any complaints on control.

I knew the reason Vita games got high scores was because Sterling didn't review them. Now we're back to good, old Destructoid trolling.

'07 GTI, it only has a headphone jack =( My next car will have a USB reader or a hard connection to and SSD.

I prefer these, I would have told you to fuck off had you asked me about them last week. With the easy access from the game and awesome screen it works out so well.

Yep. If this is how we get the return of longer manuals with full color artwork, I am completely for it.

I had a few PSN invites that I assume came from Vita people, however when I went to accept them it said they may have already been cancelled - perhaps because I tried to accept them on the PS3 rather than Vita?

Yeah, mine did that too. If I choose "orders 6 months and newer" or whatever the option is though, it shows up.

Good to hear you have your order back Cyport, maybe there is some hope of Amazon sending them out after all!

I love having my manuals in-game. In most EA games now I just pause, access the manual from the options menu, find what I need and then continue on. Love it.

I want a Kindle app.

Shinobido 2 showed up from gamefly today. An hour into... it's the definition of an average launch title. Fans of Tenchu will have some fun with it, especially while the hardware is new and shiny. But anyone else, feel free skipping it.

I went ahead and paid for the first month, and redeemed the code. I understand the code won't be sent until the FREE month begins. I'll probably get SSD before then.. And sell/give away the code.

So Sony got back to me on a help email I sent last night.

I was asking about a save file manager thing like on the PS3 and PSP - where you can see individual saves and copy/delete/whatever. The customer service representative confirmed that there is no way to do that. You can only delete the entire game and all its saves unless the game itself has the option to manage save files.

And then the other 80% of the email was advertising extended warranties to me.

I'm sad...
I sometimes end up with like 20 files for one game. That's going to be annoying to deal with when I can't clean up useless ones.

I wouldn't take that as the last word. VITA is fresh out the factory so give it some time to stretch it's legs. Firmware updates can do wonders.

I agree with you. It's a pretty big knock against the system... I similarly mess with game saves constantly and often have too many that eventually need deleting.

Current system sounds analogous to "throwing out the baby with the bath water".

Hopefully enough people will bitch loud enough that they address it.

Yeah right - blame the game for "unresponsive controls" and not your big sausage fingers lacking the finesse needed to play it.

Unresponsive? They were absolutely fine for me when I played the demo, really liked what I played and I'll be picking it up with the £5 voucher from the preorder pack.

I watched that (hilariously behind-the-curtain) webchat between the D'toid editors about Vita's prospects. Sterling seemed pretty reasonable to me. Most of the things he bitched about are the same things I bitch about. All those guys have echos of the "Sony... :eyeroll:" thing that seems to carry over from PSP/early-PS3 days, but Sterling wasn't any harsher than the others.

I'm in love with this thing. Have I said that already?

It's a beautiful device and I could see it becoming my primary gaming machine.

So what's up with this Standby mode issue? 9 times out of ten when I put the thing into Standby, I can't get it to turn back on after a little while. And I had it in standby today while I was at work, and the battery was dead by the time I got off.

Anyone else having these issues? It's a pain because standby basically doesn't work, I always lose my game state because I either have to do a full power-off or the battery has died.

Haven't messed with any more unique things with this lobby but discovering double jump was a nice surprise.

Ok, Uncharted is a visual monster. What was with the "mixed bag" remarks? I'm a stickler for graphics and this game is gorgeous!

nope don't believe you have said it already. :p

and on the destructoid review, IF the game is anything like the demo, then JSterling is being his usual troll self

so I guess this answers my previous Q. You can do many things depending on the lobby

Regarding Near, i hear it has a radius of like 10km. But what happens if you travel outside of this radius? Will the history of the people you've "connected" to be stored somehow?
