It's so frustrating, with the amount of effort it takes to get into a lobby, when the host is fucking afk or sleeping or doesn't know wtf to do. Don't host a match if you're not going to pay attention.

I can't wait for Tuesday. -_-

If the original host leaves and there's still people in the server someone else becomes the host. Problem is there's no notification.

Overall I love this game and its going to be something I keep in my system for a while. But a few quick complaints

1- The unlocks system is a little stupid if you ask me. Just let me play as all the vehicles, yeah unlocking the side arms and other stuff would be nice unlocks but I just want to play as the whole cast.

2- The Single player gets a little ridiculous esp on harder difficulties.

3- Networking issues aren't bothering me too much but I do get booted from some games and it takes a while for somethings to get started.

4- The targeting feels off a little in certain circumstances

I was raging so hard at this Axel player who was destroying me. Argh! So, when it came for him to play offense, I Axeled him twice, both times when he was an inch away from launching the nuke.

For the guy who was talking about Sweet Tooth being banned from LMS, it's because of his Special, which goes through walls.

Earlier today I had two Axels ramp off me back to back, but I had shield on so I took no damage. Was very amusing to me.

What was your name and was I driving roadkill?

Not saying, and I think so. Either that or Crimson Fury. Can't tell the difference in my memory.

Well, those kills didn't count since roadkill sucks :x. And why not? Scared the Warthog might come back to hunt you down?

I am not sure why but I picked up an overpriced import copy of this game last week.

Loved Twisted Metal and kind of went into this one blind(I played a demo at E3 last year and that was all I knew). Kind of disappointed with what they did with the characters/story.

The live action scene really just grate on my nerves for some reason but I would have been able to ignore that had the general feel of the characters still been there. Sweet Tooth not in his ice cream truck just seems wrong.

Hopefully the network problems get cleared up as the online modes seem pretty fun. Ran into a lot of lag even when I do get in though.

Im not a big fan of this system either. It's annoying when you have enough players, yet the host never starts the game.

I don't understand why they don't use matchmaking for ranked and lobbys for cusotm games.

Anyways...I actually got into a game yesterday but it froze halfway through the match. This game is a blast online it just sucks that it's so hard to get in an online game.

The best is when you get into a lobby, wait the 8-10 mins for the game to end so you can actually play, only to get kicked with a DC error right after the loading map screen disappears. You HEAR the announcer, you see your car, you're in the game but then its all LOL NOPE, FUCK OFF.

Side note, Jaffe, if you read this, is there any art assests for TM up online anywhere? Specifically the black and white icons you guys used in the SP campaign to denote Sweet Tooth, Mr. Grimm and Dollface's portions of campaign progress? I'm mainly looking for Dollfaces but I'd take all 3 =O Alot of the black and white line art (for the skin icons etc etc) are killer. Props to your art team! I've already mentioned how much I love Dollfaces design in this. Love the pink!

EDIT: How the hell do you have so much time played Helscream, I can't seem to stay in a game =/ of course i just join a game and now im stuck on "SYNCHRONIZING GAME" for the past five minutes.

His health is lower then death warrants, his special is trash, the camera is too close to him(same with road boat) I just hate road kill. Glad I got my 50 kills out of the way for him.

lolwut

I have a feeling you weren't doing it right, because Roadkill's Secondary Special can hit for up to 100 damage, which is up there with the most damaging specials in the game.

I'm not a big fan of Roadkill in this game either (usually my go-to vehicle in other TMs), but trash? lol no way. I think Death Warrant is worse - neither special is damaging enough. In a situation where you're low on health and higher base health isn't a factor, a damaging special like Roadkill's secondary is key to survival (or at least getting a bigger assist reward).

I would like to a take a moment of yalls time to rant.

If you (you in general, not really targeted at GAF) are playing a team game and your teammate freezes an hard to pin down enemy, pls stop shooting at the guy momentarily with your weakass pellet shooter. Damage done to a frozen target interrupts the freeze ability and lets him escape the lockdown prematurely. Chances are the guy who used freeze has something nasty in store for the dastardly player (such as bumper to bumper contact :), or a power missile or even a flaming chainsaw). Either way, temporarily suspending damage allows chasers to decrease the distance between them and their prey. So pls stop shooting for just one second... The target ain't going anywhere, I promise!

Thank you for your time :).

Something needs to be done about this. Is there a timer letting you know how much time is left? There is just nothing to do while waiting. Maybe if we could watch the game while in the lobby or have a stupid mini-game to play or be able to mess around with the paint customizer thing while waiting it wouldn't be so bad. This especially seems odd given that one of Jaffe's mantras as of late is "user experience" and how annoying it can be just to turn on a system, navigate the XMB, put in codes, download patches etc.

Is that what happened just now? Ran into you in a game but you were idle the entire match, went 0-7 for your team lol.

So? It moves really slow, it's easy to dodge, you get a big warning, and you can shoot it down. I thought all the vehicles were supposed to be balanced, so if ST is such a big problem here why is he fine on the other kill based modes? What's keeping you from finding ST so he doesn't have the wall advantage and blowing him up?

What irks me is that Jaffe claims it's just the cars that are the characters, but this is the first title to actually be able to fully show the drivers in gameplay. In previous games we only saw the drivers at the select screen and the endings, so yeah, there is a valid comment for that in the past. Then, you look at Axel, who had the driver visible, and all the comments now where it is weird for fans to be playing axel and have sweet tooth standing there. So, I really think all along people tied the driver to the vehicle and in their imagination had ideas of the driver there. Especially in TM1 where there was the driver seat view and you can see the way they decorate the inside, see their hands or gloved hands, see their perspective from the vehicle, etc.

I know Jaffe said if they continue with the series they will find a way to address the "memory issue," but for the meantime, I do feel this is just odd.

I'm on Dollface's check point race, holy fuck! I'll keep it at it till I get the memorization of all the points down, but damn. Fall out of one building and you're fucked.

The single player is hit or miss. I like SweetTooth's, but yeah, the other two get a little crazy. I do like the different ideas they came up with so you aren't just always playing death match with bots till the end. But then the flip side of that is you only have the three stories.

Finally tried the online last night and took about 20 minutes before I got into a game, and when it started, I got booted out in about 10 seconds. Fuck. I had an easier time getting online with the demo.

As for separating the drivers from the vehicles....yeah, I don't care for it. It certainly doesn't kill the great gameplay, but I miss the way it used to be.

Also, in single player challenge mode, I'd like to be able to set up my own check point races. That'd be fun.

My import copy finally arrived.

I'm immediately going online, only to be disappointed that the majority are playing ranked despite the stupid grind. I have to take my compliment back that I issued after the demo. Games that require me to play for tens of hours to unlock the actual game can fuck off. At this point I have to just accept that I'm the minority. Please milk me and let me pay 10 dollar or some shit because clearly game designers don't have faith in their product any more. Imagine if all characters in Street Fighter were unlocked from the start, clearly EVO would be canceled.

Why was unranked used for the demo if grinding with less options and less weapons is the big draw?

Also what's up with unranked and everyone being able to choose Juggernaut all the time?
Jaffe said at different times how important it is to use Juggernaut at the right time, as you only have access to him once per round.
Apparently that is not true in Team Deathmatch, because I just played against 6 Juggernauts continuously respawning and one dude that tried different vehicles.

This was Black rock, maybe that map is particular suited for Juggernaut play because they just drove the exact same route all the time. Also: It doesn't do twice damage to shoot in the opened back of a Juggernaut. Features that don't exist shouldn't be used as an argument why your game is balanced.

Well look at it this way. You are going to be playing this game well past "ten hours" anyway. Just use the time to play vehicles you wouldn't always go to, you might enjoy em. Unlocking the vehicles is no big deal really.

I already play different vehicles. I don't want to be limited by the choices to artificially lengthen the time people play it.
It's like being forced to write tautograms as you haven't unlocked the latter part of the alphabet yet. I'd rather have access to the whole range of words from the start and only be limited by my own ability.

What jaffe said is true. The limitations to juggernauts use, only applies in ranked games though.
Then I guess I have to play that because the other alternative is even worse. I still rather pay premium to everything from the start. (Because that's the only way people like myself can reasonably expect to get old gameplay back.)

If it was an EA title you probably could.

That's just the state of gaming these days. No one plays games for the love of the game anymore. It's all about KDR bragging, unlocks and leveling exp. Things have sure changed from the early BF1942 days.

Maybe. I did play a game with a Warthog that managed to double my score(I was in second place), as if he was a Reaper (though like a Reaper he didn't cause me any problems personally). Most of the time they are nothing special, but I have to imagine when used well they can be quite destructive (and safe?). I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to use one.

Yeah I agree with u, but Actually it may be because he can fly. Talon and Juggernaut also seem to be banned from LMS, I think.

Also, can someone teach me to do Death Warrant/Roadkill's secondary?? I hold down R2 but I just end up doing the same exact special as their primary (machine gun)

Hold R2, release in the red and then quickly hold R2 again and release in the red when nearly full. For Roadkill's secondary, you have to do the step one more time. The later you release it in the red without overcharging, the longer the attack lasts (up to 65 damage for Death Warrant, ~100 for Roadkill).
Just hop into live training and just play with the Specials until you get the timing down.

Ah sorry I didn't ask this earlier, but Saint's Row 3's online pass would give u SR2 for free, but that offer only lasted until February.
Is it the same with Twisted Meta Black?

No, it has nothing to do with the Online Pass. The free TMB offer is limited to first-run copies of Twisted Metal, the "limited edition". It's a separate voucher from the Online Pass.

Nope. That was pretty much my experience with every unranked game I was able to get into yesterday. I just wanted to have some fun playing a game with all vehicles/unlocks available. Every game being a Juggernaut Fest wasn't much fun. :(

I'm with you on this. I'm not a fan of the grind. I am at level 11 now with all tier 1 vehicles unlocked, but I have all the other tier 1 unlocks still to do before I can even start tier 2 vehicles.

What is the finisher though? "Drop Mines"? Because all I see is the chain gun.

When you say release in red, does that mean dont hold it until its fully charged? Because that's what I'm doing

Yeah, just release (and hold again) as soon as it's in the red for the first stage of Death Warrant's special, and the first two stages of Roadkill's. The final one is where you release near the end for maximum damage.

As for Drop Mines, pretty sure that's a typo. It's supposed to be Blood Missiles.

Drop mines is not a typo. Press Down on the d-pad ;-)
You get 4 of Juggernaut's mines, very interesting in a light car.

Ahhhh! I see, you have to press R2 and down (you mean left?) on the d-pad. They didnt explain that in the training, did they??

How about for the other vehicle!? (Death Warrant or Roadkill) They have a different secondary, but I cant seem to do that one either

Thanks a lot, I will try this

Sidenote: for those saying Twisted is difficult, it's a walk in the cake doing co-op with Talon/Juggernaut

Really? Wow. Roadkill just got better. lol where the hell do those things even come out from on Roadkill?
I'll let you try it out and see for yourself, it's really cool the first time you see it because it's unexpected (kinda).

Just a tip, once you press down you simply display them, you have to press down again to drop them (people are saying R2, I never used that. Does that make them for forward like Juggernaut's?), and they drop REALLLLLY slow but it's worth it if you can get a sucker to chase you in a tight corridor. And once you display mines you can't go back to your other special unless you cycle through.

For the mines, you press triangle to get the alt special selected, then press down on the dpad to pull them up. You can press R2 do drop them. You press it once and they will all drop off one at a time. Each one does 25 damage.
