There were quite a few workers backstage popping for John Cena's comments about Dwayne Johnson on Raw, feeling they were a shoot as to how some on the roster feel about Johnson. One talent commented via text (with permission to be quoted under condition of anonymity), writing, "[Johnson] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one. He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight. Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their asses off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."

In Johnson's defense, anytime he's been booked for PPV or TV, I've heard he stays at the same hotel as the rest of the WWE crew. It's not like the guy is sequestered away like a Grand Jury. I can understand the frustration of him being on top, but the reality is, his name means greater box office for Wrestlemania and that does trickle down to everyone on the card. There's certainly a give and take to him being there, and it's certainly not all a negative.

The Undertaker-HHH segment actually ran about 8-9 minutes over tonight, causing the Divas tag to be cut down drastically in time and John Cena's ring entrance to be moved off-camera.

Perry Saturn and Greg Gagne were both backstage visiting. When I interviewed Saturn late last year, he expressed interest in working for the company again in some fashion.

rofl @ this sour grapes attitude.

Rock put in his time long ago and was successful enough to the point where he was able to transition into another line of work and achieve success in that field. To hold that against him is silly considering that he helped everyone get a bigger pay day for last year's Wrestlemania (and will probably do so again for this year's Wrestlemania), and he really didn't even need to come back at all.

Watching Raw now. I was playing a game last night and lost track of time and it was 9:30 so i was like eff it i'll watch tomorrow instead of missing 30 mins.

lol forreal, sounds just as butthurt as cena did last night.

Did you guys see Jericho ask the ref what happened to Wade last night?
yess it was mentioned by everyone when it happened

I don't think anyone would have a problem if Rock came in and acted like one of the boys.
I never hear this shit about Stone Cold.

So I'm in the middle. Rock earned everything yes, but he could be less of a douche.

Creative plans have been discussed for the now heel Eve Torres to continue her feud with Zack Ryder according to F4Wonline.com.

Torres would be paired with a heel WWE Superstar and would feud with Ryder and a WWE Diva. As of now the most popular name that has been suggested to be paired with Ryder is Layla.

yes plz more layla

They need to bring Yoshi Tatsu up for the Ryder/Eve, not have him be a heel, just have him be completely clueless. Then they can wrap up the angle by him wising up and becoming a BUROSUKI.

Those comments about Dwayne are spot on. It's not sour grapes, it's the truth. Of course Pyromaniac is blind to the truth so he'll defend him to the end.

Somebody mentioned Gabriel, he's a solid choice. Swagger too but then they need a reason to break off him with Vickie, and Vickie's a great heat manger for him. Ziggler doesn't need her - she would be fine for clients, one being Swagger.

Sounds more bitterness to me.

What do you want Rock to do, wrestle week in and week out, put guys over and make stars? That's not his job anymore. He's not an active wrestler. That's for guys like Cena, Orton, etc. to do, and that guy who is anonymous sounds like Miz. Butthurt bitch. Soon enough he'll be down jobbing to Hornswaggle, or so I hope.

Someone tell Owl that the Kane cycle might be going faster than ever. Skip beauty and the beast phase to straight irrelevance.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, beauty and the beast stage is always cack but irrelevance isn't any better as a Kane fan, i'd like bombastic retirement angle if anything, complete with a finale so absurdly supernatural that some wrasslegaffers would unfortunately enter an Undertaker style vegetative state from embarrassment if they were to watch it.

I must say i agree. How can you be mad at a guy that has a chance to pursue other interests ? The Rock was just more than a wrestling star he was a star in everything he did. And that shit people are saying about him using the WWE to promote his movies??? have they seen the ratings for wrestling? This isnt Raw is War , highest ratings on cable anymore. I mean who went to see Fast Five because of wrestlemania? it was the fifth damn movie ...staring vin diesel. The movie already had a star, a franchise following, and that carried over into good word of mouth.

I could see if wrestling was way up and maybe he wasnt getting work but he's been busy as usual, and wrestling has been losing fans and interest over the past 7 years.

Ryder + Layla would be the BESTTTT.

As for the rock thing, like I said, Cena is flat out wrong. What the fuck is this dude supposed to do wrestle until he dies? He's a legend. He already put in work. He offered much more in a year than cena has in the last 5. Secondly, the fans are the one that wanted him to wrestle one last match, this stupid notion that because he isn't full time he is talking shit is ridiculous.

LOOK CENER and random butthurt text messeger, you're WRONG.

It's not that Rock doesn't wrestle 24/7, it because he's been acting like a prima donna.
Which is unfortunate.

He's no longer comfortable being one of the boys.

Awaiting your thoughts with a little bit of fear. Keep us scared Heavy! I especially want to know what you think of the orgasming girl in the crowd. Good lord.

I don't get that at all, it even says in that article that he even stays at the hotel with the boys when he is on the show. He is a pretty humble dude overall. The fans clamoured for it, he wanted to make it happen with Vince, and he is making it happen. Now people fucking bitch and moan. So lame.

Lol, are you sure about that?
yeah what are you 10 years old? The Rock when he was full time in the WWE offered WAYYY more in 1 year than Cena has in 5. I'm talking about entertainment wise, you know, the reason we watch. Not for the company. Everyone knows Cena is the best company man, but I personally don't give a fuck about that. Respect it, but don't care.

A lot of the heat Rock gets is that he doesn't interact with anyone backstage. He acts above everybody, says hello to nobody when he gets there, and has his own private dressing area. It's very easy to see how people might have an issue with that, especially people who were properly trained in terms of wrestling etiquitte.

CM Punk's interview where he talked about Rock's leave-me-alone attitude backstage at Survivor Series lends good insight into that.

Something amazing has finally happened, and I'm not talking about the Mania Hell In A Cell:

0kcTl.jpg

Controversial, out-spoken, brash…those are just three words that describe the man known worldwide as CM Punk, and during his tenure in Ring of Honor, he more than lived up to those labels. He also established himself as one of the finest professional wrestlers in the world today with historic bouts against the likes of Samoa Joe, Homicide, Bryan Danielson, & Christopher Daniels, and will forever be considered a legend in ROH.

But for three months in the summer of 2005, Punk shocked Ring of Honor fans & officials alike and it all began one night in June when ROH gathered to bid farewell to one of their own as Punk challenged for the ROH World Title one final time. What happened that evening kicked off three months of chaos as Punk took the World Title hostage and left ROH scrambling to find the man he would dethrone him. Be it Roderick Strong, Samoa Joe, or Christopher Daniels, they each faced off with Punk in hopes of reclaiming the title for Ring of Honor. They were three of the most exciting, unpredictable, chaotic months in ROH’s history, and they have since come to be known as “The Summer of Punk”…

Disc 1
1. CM Punk vs. Austin Aries (ROH World Title Match)...Death Before Dishonor III 6/18/05
2. CM Punk vs. Jay Lethal (ROH World Title Match)...Sign of Dishonor 7/8/05
3. CM Punk vs. Roderick Strong (ROH World Title Match)...Escape From New York 7/9/05
4. CM Punk vs. James Gibson (ROH World Title Match)...Fate of an Angel II 7/16/05

Disc 2
5. CM Punk vs. Christopher Daniels (ROH World Title Match)...The Homecoming 7/23/05
6. CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe vs. James Gibson vs. Christopher Daniels (ROH World Title Elimination Match)...Redemption 8/12/05
7. CM Punk vs. Colt Cabana (2 Out Of 3 Falls Match)...Punk: The Final Chapter 8/15/05

* This classic release also includes moments that solidified "The Summer of Punk" in the annals of ROH history including Punk's notorious contract signing, his confrontation with Mick Foley, and more!!!

I am definitely buying this Mania weekend.

Watching the Cena promo on the Rock, why is it being heralded as something great? He shed the same fucking shit about "I've been here the whole time!". YAWWWWWN

Gabriel is a solid choice, actually.
Someone posted about the faults of that promo in another forum I frequent:
Cena should have said "I've went toe to toe with all of the greats: I've battled Shawn Michaels, HHH, Undertaker, took a stunner from Austin... you were the only one left Rock but you left and that left an emptyness in my heart... I need to fill that void Rock. THe Best of the Past vs The Best of the Present at the grandest stage of them all WRESTLEMANIA... whatdayasay Rock?"

That's what all of Cena's promos should have been for the last year but instead we get "I'm here everyweek Rock, where you at?" Well duh you dumbass you're here everyweek cause THAT'S YOUR JOB! If you weren't there everyweek you would be on jeff hardy status and be fired. Rock ain't there because HE'S AT HIS JOB! Cena talks like a "smart-dumb" nikka, trying to make a point but does the same sh*t. Don't hate on Rock cause he makes movies because YOU MAKE MOVIES TOO, but Rock gets paid more for his movies and they are actually good... plus they don't go straight to dvd.
Pointing out the hypocrisy is pretty funny...

sums it up pretty well, guy getting bashed because he has a job that isn't wrestling. THE ROCK YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED HERE IN THE RING AND WRESTLED TILL YOU WERE OLD AND SHIT.

Who thinks that? I sure as heck don't. I think they don't like him because he's pretending to be someone he's not now. I suppose they could just try to ignore it because he's bringing in money, but hey we're not out there wrestling 24/7. It's probably hard to relate.

I'm just disappointed to hear that Rock has been acting like a douche. He doesn't have yo stay in the business, but he should respect the business that made him who he is today. I think he probably doesn't anymore.

And to be fair maybe people probably don't respect his movie career, but he got there because of wrestling and not the other way around.

Who thinks that? I sure as heck don't.
I'm just saying, that's the logic of Cena's promo. The Rock wrestled for many a years, he finished wrestling. He moved on to a different job and excelled at that. Whether people like his movies or not, they gross a ton and he is a very likeable movie star in the world. It's his new job. He has obligations to be on set, to be on tour to promote things, and so on. It's ridiculous to ridicule someone for not being at the show every week.

It's just a low blow by Cena to accelerate the beef since WM is closing in. Take a couple of personal shots, which I still guarantee anyone was done WITH Dwayne's consent, and now the angle is omgz seriouzz.

I'd say coming back when he absolutely doesn't have to and doesn't owe anyone anything, to give the match that everyone wants to see, is showing respect to the business that made him. I can't imagine how busy his schedule is and to fit in this whole thing and train for it and whatnot, that's respect for the business. The dude even has rings at his movie sets so he can practice and put on a show for the fans and not look like an old slob like triple H.

Next Cena promo content: The Rock should be banished from ever entering the hall of fame for his movie misdeeds, if he's lucky he can go with Drew Carey in the celebrity wing.

It's it's all a work to build the feud I don't have a problem with it. I just hate to think the Rock really think he's above it all. I won't give him a free pass on that if he's really been acting as such.

I don't know how he acts backstage other than 1 or 2 peoples opinions, but I've read/seen many things that indicate that he is actually really humble and really nice to all his fans, which most big celebs are not. That's enough for me.

He grew up intertwined into the family business, just think about how many of his relatives were in the WWE.

I do think he has a lot of respect for the business, it's just that being a modestly successful actor in his 40's makes him seem the opposite.

Rock-cena & hhh- taker are each 45 mins, minimum. Only so much time in show. So when punk-y2j gets 12 mins & bryan gets 7, dont be shocked
http://twitter.com/#!/SethMates

Don't know about Rock/Cena and HHH/Taker getting 45 mins, but I can certainly see some people getting frustrated if/when Punk vs. Jericho and Bryan vs. Sheamus get short-changed.

I'm trying to make sense of this post. Entertainment wise, they're both about equal, in terms of talent. Rock was the top guy and Cena is the top guy, they're interchangeable.

The "45 minutes" for each match would also include video packages, entrances, and post-match stuff as well, I assume.

I honestly don't get why anyone is bashing the Rock. First, they say "he's hogging all the spotlight"...and then say "he's only here once a year, i'm working 24/7!!".. So how is he exactly stealing any ones thunder when hes never here?! Shit, if people are complaining about spotlight then their anger should be at john cena. He was in the Main event/ World title match for 7 straight years. Which were all against over and mostly old wrestlers.

When Hogan came back to face the rock were fans and wrestlers this fucking bitter??? IT'S FOR THE FANS. Believe it or not Cena vs Rock is huge business. Not quite Hogan/Rock but pretty damn close. It's one of those wrestling moments that can only happen once in a blue. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

People need to swallow that bitter pill sometimes. Fans (like myself) paid good money to see Rock vs Cena. Why isn't anyone mad about jericho? lol Dude was gone for 2 years and is now getting a useless title shot a the biggest ppv of the year.

Rock vs Cena, HHH/Taker HIAC, CM Punk/ Jericho, Daniel fucking Bryan is WHC, potential MITB. Best WM on paper in YEARS.

The only thing that worries me is the crowd. Living in NY im used to hot crowds. WM24 had a really awesome crowd...every year after that has been pretty meh.

Maybe if they'd cut out all the other vid packages, segments and other shit they had last WM(and are likely to have again) they'd have more time for everyone this WM.
