Wow, that is a lot of people. With the insane attach rate we seem to be having on gaf, I'm hoping the vita is a smash hit for sony.

Judging by the widespread promos for the Vita, I'd imagine it hasn't been terribly successful thus far. But hey, it's early, and I'm still hoping it turns into a success.

Not saying it looks better than the prettiest Vita titles, just that it looks fine and much better than the PSP versions.

Ah I think I misunderstood then. It does look fine. But the original post that started this was about how it looked so bad after playing Wipeout and Uncharted and stuff. So I thought this was all about how it stacked up to the other titles.

I can't answer for sure but I know the PS3 version doesn't. Considering its a "buy once, get both" game, it probably has the same feature set, so would have no online.

My order is shipping.

I can't believe this day has finally came.

I can't describe the feeling of knowing that I was walking out of the store with a new Vita. It was a little more euphoric when knowing that I was in the exclusive FEB club.

Does anyone else think the build in mic works really good? I was surprised at how much it picks up and the quality of it. Not too shabby.

I think I'm going to make more room for Vita friends. THe cross game chat is awesome.

Why hasnt mine ssssshhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd :(

Don't worry too much. :p

Back in the day of GT5's launch, I had release date delivery from Amazon. The website must have been so busy that my game stayed as "shipping soon" until almost 4AM the DAY OF launch (which I didn't find out about until later on). I looked at the tracking history to see the game was actually shipped the day before launch in the evening.

I got so worried that I actually ordered GT5 again from Buy.com instead with one day shipping (I live 4 hrs from the warehouse they ship from) and then later of course saw the Amazon update and felt like a fool.

I then received 2 copies of GT5 on launch day. XD I no longer worry about Amazon ship statuses.

People are so starved for new hardware. Something to get excited about, and Vita hits the spot. I think the first couple months of sales will be pretty good.

Is that only retroactive or do I get the PS3 version when buying the Vita one?

I think the next few months of games will not give up too much. I mean we have Gravity Rush, RR, and LBP coming but have other big hitters like Unit 13 and MLB The Show on top of PSN stuff. I see no reason why this should let up. Once people get into the ins and outs, they will flip though as it's got a very feature rich OS for a launch.

Close...In my opinion, I still think the Dreamcast had the best launch so far.

I think the HW should put the Vita easily over the top. The games are certainly debatable though but I would still give the edge to Vita if only by a small margin.

I see what you did thar Flunkie :p

I think game sales will continue to do okay, but I can also see the majority of the "early adopter" crowd all buying the system within the first two or three months. Then things are going to fall off for a while until the fall. The cost of buying in is high enough that it will have to be a Christmas or birthday present for a lot of younger players. This holiday season will be the most telling one.

It always is :p

I do think they got tons of good things coming even if not even on the gaming front. Games, PS Suite, apps, and other cool things brought by FW updates are pretty exciting to me.

Shit I am now worried if I will find one tomorrow :/

Hope it wont be sold out in a midnight opening or something before I go to futureshop tomorrow.

I expect $50 off sales in a month, TOPS, early adopters will rush but the vast majority of people aren't paying $250 for a handheld. They saw what happened with the 3DS and they don't want to get screwed by a price drop. If Best Buy didn't have the $75 PSP trade in special no way would I buy this system

Downloaded Corpse Party, bought the two year accident protection plan, and waiting for the Katamari patch to download. Lots of time will be spent with the Vita tonight!

It's nowhere near that bad. I think it looks great even if it's lower res. I don't know what people were expecting from Hot Shots.

I expected that since it's from Sony that it would at least run at the native res of the handheld. It's ugly. But it's Hot Shots, so it plays great. Makes me wish the makers of Pangya put out a game though since I preferred their PSP game to all the HSG titles.

Actually, I could see a firesale on the FEB if they hang around too long, they existed mainly as an early adopter incentive, and with THAT angle dead they may get the diea to discount them all to $300 and be rid of them. More likely there'd just be bundle deals like get a free game if you buy a version, hopefully both but I could see that sort of thing being exclusive to 3G.

True, but the Dreamcast did usher in a big jump in graphics and sound that could not be matched by anything that was currently out at the time. The WOW factor from going from existing game consoles, even PC's at the time was a big jump. The Vita does have the WOW factor, but not as big as the DC had because we have seen other devices with amazing looking screens like the one in the Vita and there has been some impressive software on portable devices that look really good.

For arguement sakes, lets say Vita has the 2nd best launch...that is fucking saying alot considering all the systems before it...that is a testement to how good Sony has done. The only thing that they could of done better...the fucking outrageous price of the memory cards. Seriously...a $100.00 for only 32gb? I can see a $100 for 64gb...not 32gb. If there is one dissapointing thing about the whole launch it is the price of the memory..which if we are counting check marks, they win the "most expensive" accessory item in launch history. And people thought MS charging what they charge for HDD's on the 360 were high, these take the cake.

Can you guys give me detailed impressions of Unit 13 when the demo is out with the PS Store update today? I heard good impressions from someone with the full game but I'd love to hear more and whether or not you like the SOCOM franchise and if Unit 13 plays like a SOCOM game.

It seems like another one of those games where you'll either love it or hate it and the reviews seem to reflect that so far.

Good points and I agree to a certain extent. I was one of those who bought a 1GB for 150 back at PSP launch and felt great about it.

And regarding the expensive stuff, when did that 360 wifi adapter hit? That is outrageously overpriced but not sure if it was a launch item. That and the HDDVD add on.

LMAO...yeah the Wi-Fi adapter is and will always be one of those fucking horrid priced items. So, yeah a 32gb Memory card and the 360 Wi-Fi adapter hold the crown for "outrageous/gauging" pricing.

Did you get an online pass?
If you buy HSG from SEN/PSN, you wont need an online pass.

I agree 15 is a bit much for PvsZ. $9.99 is a fair price point for the game. There should be another discount applied if you own PvsZ on PS3.

At 15 bucks, they can go **** themselves. I'll just stick with the iPad/iPhone games that cost me 10 dollars less and apparently run better than the Vita version. Seriously 15? The price gouging on launch titles could realistically endanger the life of the Vita.
