My advice for anyone picking up a Vita tomorrow:

Buy Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Seriously. Do it. It is amazing.

It doesn't matter that the game is on a portable system or that it wasn't developed by Naughty Dog. It seriously looks and plays exactly like an Uncharted game. In fact, I honestly think it is better in every way (graphics, story, gameplay, etc.) than the first Uncharted.

I'm a few hours into it and I already like it more than U3.

just came back from toys r us. And I'm delighted to find out that the gift cards are stackable and it to be used to get yet another gift card.

so basically I made out with 3 deals 3 games and 3 accessories and 3 20 dollar gift cards.

Going to use the third card for Unit 13.

Is a PSN card considered an accessory?

Can anybody try if Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe now works on Vita (either via shop or PS3 walkaround)? Would be much appreciated.

I don't plan on buying any Vita games digitally until they give us something like a 128 GB stick. I'll be switching to digital for future PSP games though, and PSOne, and PS2... 32 GB is simply not enough, especially when games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss takes up like 4 GB. I'll have no room for movies or music.

Question

If you have a few codes for some games, I'm curious if it's easier to download the games directly through my Vita or should I do it on my PS3 and then transfer over to my Vita?

It seems like going through the Vita makes the most sense, but I don't have a ton of storage (8GB card). So perhaps I could use the codes to unlock them on the Vita but not download them? I reside in the download section of PSN right?

Thanks! :)

Arg. So two, maybe three games max will fit on the 4GB. Hmm. I guess I'd better get an 8 or 16. I assume removing games from the system doesn't mess with your save file, though, right?

Hopefully someone else can expand on this, since it's not something I'm super knowledgeable about, but I believe you'll have to use the content manager for PC to remove/redownload your games without losing saves. If you delete it from the Vita and then redownload it from the PSN store on Vita, it won't retain your save, iirc.

i have failed at trying to get into the Vita's recovery mode... holding down R, Power and the PS button does nothing..

I really want to play Mutant Blobs Attack :(

Download them on your Ps3 right now before PSN speeds turn to shit real soon

Saw someone on the bus with it today. It looked hella sexy, not gonna lie. Even he thought so since he was just stroking it and it wasn't even powered on.

Plants vs Zombies Vita edition to have Platinum trophy:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/21/plants-vs-zombies-for-ps-vita-shambles-to-psn-today/

f you want to know what you’re actually getting in this version, which I guess is a reasonable enough question, I can tell you that the PS Vita version includes all of these positively wonderful features:

The complete, classic 50-level adventure game
The Zen Garden
20 mini-games
18 puzzle games
10 survival games
43 Trophies, including one Platinum trophy
The Zombatar zombie-creation tool
Online leaderboards

$14.99 justified now?

I must say, Rayman looks and runs fantastic on Vita! And I really like the touch feature, I find myself using it a lot. :p It's a good thing I got it free with the bundle or else I would have missed this game.

I'm pretty sure I got all of that with the PC version of PvZ (aside from trophies, but it has it's own achievement system), which happened to be on sale for $2.50 when I bought it. It's a good game and I'd love to have it on my Vita....but not for that price.

Holy shit, I didn't even realize Plants vs. Zombies was gonna be on Vita! I never got around to playing it, I'll definitely pick it up now.

For me downloading through the PS3 and transferring seems to be faster then downloading straight to the Vita.

Try holding power fior 10 seconds? Did you hold that long?

to turn it off? yeah, but its turned off way before then. When holding down the PS button and power button together, it doesnt turn on, only after I let go of the PS button. dagnabbit. what am I doin' wrong... and thats only if this would fix the could not install problem. SStardust Bundle has installed fine :/

@yosp tweeted this piece from Penny Arcade (written by Ben Kuchera - did he leave Ars?). It's a couple of days old, but if your hype wasn't already in overdrive, his take on Vita might get you there:

http://penny-arcade.com/report/edit...e-gaming-with-no-compromises-and-were-smitten

There is a laborious conversation about the Vita going on across the Internet that links the potential market of a device to its quality as a means to play video games. The idea that the Vita is a portable gaming system isn’t wrong, but the Vita also doesn’t offer portable gaming in the way we’ve become accustomed to it in the past 20 years. This is a lesson I learned when I brought my review unit on a recent work trip. Many of my hours were spent spirited away in my hotel room, pounding hours into the Vita’s impressive launch lineup. I wasn’t playing because the Vita is portable, I was playing because the experience of gaming on the Vita is addictive and almost entrancing. It feels like a magic trick.

So I didn't get my question answered a few dozen pages back...

Will the PS Vita Remote play allow you to play any game in the PS3 library?

Is there a way to have the PS logo not glow blue while it is in sleep mode? I don't know if it turns itself off after some time in sleep mode, so I turned the Vita off. I can't have lights on when I'm sleeping, I hate it.

from what I was dealing with yesterday (freezing from sleep mode) I had to hold just the power button for 15-20 seconds to get the recovery menu. from there you have options to restart, reinitialize database, restore system, format memory card and a few others.

Just noticed this in the online manual:

You can only earn trophies on the PS Vita system on which you first start a game. If you play the game on another PS Vita system, you will not be able to earn trophies. If you sign up for PlayStation®Network, you can earn trophies on the other PS Vita system.
With the PS Vita card inserted in the PS Vita system that you first used to start the game, sign up for PlayStation®Network, and then start the game. Next, insert the PS Vita card into the other PS Vita system on which you want to play the game, and then sign up for PlayStation®Network using the same account. You are recognized as the same player who first started the game, and then you will be able to earn trophies.
Me and my brother are both getting Vita bundles, mine with Virtua Tennis and his with FIFA. Does this mean only one of us will be able to earn trophies in each game (whoever decides to play the game first)?

Sounds to me like they're just saying you need to be signed in to the PSN to earn trophies; that it's not based on the game cartridge but rather your account. I could be mistaken though.

Hate to say it, but he has something of a point at least with costs of games. To bad a significant portion still need price drops after years of being on the store.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's as much Sony's saying on 3rd party prices as it's the right holders. P3P has been 20 before though and that is a great price for that one.
