Eh, not straight emulation.
They could do a remake of it for the system, but it's highly unlikely.
You don't think the 3DS could handle Gamecube emulation? Hmmm. You're probably right, I guess the 3DS is built differently.
I doubt even the Vita could handle GC emulation...
It can't. Look up the recommended specs for optimal emulation on dolphin.
Are we sure they weren't talking about XBLA?
I wish there was some way to put another card, or to copy its data to a computer hard drive to free space, or to erase and redownload stuff when needed.
Team Meat hates Sony because they didn't think SMB would perform well enough or something
you should probably stop making shit up
If they release 3D ports of Metroid Prime, Wind Waker and F-Zero GX, I'll be there day 1.
Well, Sony said something to them that left a bad taste in their mouths and made them give up on bringing SMB to Sony platforms.
I'm not saying I think the Vita can run a Gamecube emulator, but an emulator written by Nintendo would probably be more efficient than Dolphin.
for reals?
if so apologies, do you have the quote or something?
It was vague. McMillen said he talked to someone at Sony about SMB, and decided shortly afterwards that he wouldn't be dealing with them in the future.
If the official limit is 8gb and we're not at games that require via. Yet I'm sure we'll be very impressed by the ones that do, however I'm sure with trickery we'll get bigger onesReminder: The current theoretical limit for 3DS retail games is 8GB, according to Macronix. And they should know, considering they provide the chips. The initial theoretical limit on the DS was 128MB (and I believe anything above 64MB already required memory translation hacks), yet the biggest games were 512MB in the end. I don't really expect 3DS games to follow the same path, so I don't expect to ever see a 32GB 3DS game, but with ROMs, there is no real, hard limit.
Is it possible for Nintendo to increase the storage limit on the 3DS btw? I could see 32GB getting full a few years down the line, particularly since most devs won't be compressing anything.

I don't think it is.
It takes special readers to read the new SD cards that are more than 32GB.
But I dunno.
wasn't it just contractual agreement with MS?
Why emulate them though? How difficult would it be to port a GameCube game to 3DS?You don't think the 3DS could handle Gamecube emulation? Hmmm. You're probably right, I guess the 3DS is built differently.
3ds question.
How do you migrate over stuff if you want to upgrade the 3ds memory?

I wish downloadable retail games would've been available from the start if they're gonna go that route. I'll probably buy all my games as carts now just so they'll be the same.
I'm pretty sure we won't ever see retail games to release as well on eShop. Even though the hooks, features and intentions are already there (this is, they just have to press the "start" button), I don't think they want to start a war with retailers.
Just copy everything to your PC then copy it back to the new card.
Iwata just said last month that they were aiming to put retail games on the eShop.
It will probably be old titles. Nintendo has already mastered the art of releasing the same game over and over anyways.
i'd gladly buy retail games off eshop. All i ask in return is download percentage so i can tell how far the download is.
Isn't that what the box that fills up with fruits or whatever they hell they are is for?
yeah but it would be nice to see a number lol

what's the max size card that 3DS can handle?
i'm already running out of space.
You can see a number if you select "Download Later", close the eShop, and close your 3DS. In sleep mode, it will download your application. Just open your 3DS and click on the translucent package icon and it will give you a "percentage of download complete" indicator.
Wind waker was less than 500mb without the end credits video. Id love to see them revisit it on 3ds, and make it perfect, but I don't think they ever willWaitwaitwaitwaitwait. Gamecube discs had a max capacity of 1.4GB.
Theoretically, couldn't Nintendo totally release Wind Waker on eShop
Because Nintendo has only released demos of old games, haven't they?
Not the same thing.
