Eighth grade teacher 'caught in bed having sex with student, 15, by 12 y-o brother'

There's a story about a women teacher having sex with one of her students seemingly every week for the past year. I think it's safe to assume at this point that every female teacher in America below the age of 50 is having sex with one of her students.

That brother is a little bitch. Period.

I swear to christ.. if I brought home my hot PE teacher Mrs. Fox (her REAL name I'm not even joking!) when I was 15 and my brother ratted me out.. I would have fucked all of his shit the fuck up.

And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Amusing discovery - in my state, I can legally have sex with a 15 year old. Would that be wrong? Why?

As long as you are not in a position of authority (like his or her teacher) you should be fine. The dad won't be happy though. Do you care about his feelings more than the feelings of the consenting 15 year old? Don't do it.

Look. I'm gonna walk in like John Wayne and put a button on this thread.

If he wasn't somehow scarred by this incident, he will be now because of what has gone down... and she as an adult is more aware of consequences and knew she'd go to prison in a media shit storm if it came to light... leaving him as "that kid". We pretty much know for a FACT that teenagers are worse at understanding and planning for future consequences than adults.
So regardless of the moral ambiguities of the laws and our culture, this lady knowingly entered into a situation with a legal minor that she knew ran a high risk of ruining his life.

So fuck her man. I don't feel sorry for her unless she is seriously busted in the head.

So the wrong here is the position of authority...?

There was a comment earlier about statements by a male rape victim which I am disinclined to track back down. I am not liable to take any such quotation at face value or treat any such bravado with any weight.

http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/sexist/2010/01/12/lil-wayne-jokes-about-his-own-rape/

It just strikes me as a whole lot of denial, maybe partly out of a sense of masculine identity, maybe partly out of a fear of social stigma and ostracization? (what are you? some sort of a faggot? don't be such a pussy!) As a male you're supposed to want this, it's the expectation and failing to live up to those expectations has serious consequences.

As to this story, I really just want to see that she doesn't get to do it again, to be honest I'm worn out on this shit. It's going to take a shift in attitude though to get these situations to decline and judging just from GAF I doubt that's going to happen any time soon :(

She kind of reminds me of a thicker Jason Mewes.

Less Jason Mewes, more T.J. Miller:

Also, shouldn't this be "rape" and not "having sex"?
Uh, how's that now? The article implies consent on his part. In fact, he says he was in love with her. No doubt a harmless crush, but he was probably more than happy with the situation.

Then there's also the fact that social stigma lessens the burden of rape. Imagine if sex was equivalent to a kiss, and a kiss equivalent to sex. You would have a bunch of people running from being kiss-raped and people getting mildly irritated over actual rape.

So the same thing goes for how it's perceived between guys and girls - for girls, their virginity is given so much value by society, and there's such a stigma with it, so they're more likely to take rape badly. Guys have the entire macho thing and the whole essence of what being a man is. Society doesn't put as much on them, so oftentimes you will see guys who don't give a shit about being raped, or who just joke about it. Not so for women.

I can tell you right now that if I were raped by a hot chick (no diseases or anything), I can't see myself caring at all. It'd be a story to tell, that's for sure. Society puts different burdens on each side and we respond appropriately. The law reflects that accordingly (hence the legal double-standard when it comes to male/female rape).

I'm pretty sure the age of consent is a rather arbitrary line.
Some countries draw it at 18, others at 16, yet others at 14.
The only thing I can say for certain is that 10 is most definitely too young.
14 and up could be ok, depending on the maturity of the person.
But it could also be wrong if the person isn't that mature, so most of us take the better safe than sorry approach.
Plus, she was in a position of power as a teacher.

What if she rapes you...you know... anally?

There are things to be considered other than "is she hot".

Yeah, seriously. What if you, shockingly, didn't want to have sex at that moment?
Maybe you had a girlfriend back home? Maybe you are gay? Maybe you just had lots of sex and are sore? What if she forced you to do stuff you don't want to do? What if she gets pregnant from the rape and you have to pay for the kid?
Women can't just rape guys on the off chance that the guy will be ok with it.

I, too, can imagine a multitude of situations where I'd enjoy being raped by a chick.
But there are just as many (or probably many times more) where I'd be deeply traumatized.

Ok RapeMe-Gaf needs to cut the shit.

If a hot girl tied your ass up and forced her self on you and she had a disease or just wanted to get herself pregnant that wouldn't be fun at all. Not in the slightest bit.

And I don't care how hot a girl is, if she drugs me and I wake up realizing I had a 15 inch dildo in my ass It's gonna fuck me up mentally.

Seriously, just cut that bullshit out.

Yes.

At the age of 15 I'm mature enough to bang girls between the ages of 13 and 17? But not mature enough to bang a girl 18 or older? I think that's bullshit.

Of course it's bullshit. If you are old enough to consent to sex with a 15 year old you are old enough to consent to sex with a 45 year old. That's the whole point with consent, you get to make that decision for yourself.

person a: this is not really rape, there was consent!
person b: but what if i did not consent and she tied me up, brutalized my ass with a dildo, stole my semen for pregnancy, and gave me a std, would it be rape then?
person a: yes, that would be rape. What is your point?

My favorite part of these articles is always that people under 18 don't know better. Once you hit 18, you are ready for whatever the world throws at you. That day you turn 18, you think different about things like sex, and think about the repercussions.

I can't even count the number of people that I know who are well over 21 and I wouldn't trust watching a rock.

Pretty much. I know plenty of adults who are not mentally mature and shouldn't be having sex. The whole "If you aren't 18 you cant have sex cause you aint mature" garbage needs to go.

Seeing as it's not really possible to administer a "mental readiness for sex" test, there needs to be a legal line drawn at some age. What would you recommend?

Jesus, guys, I'm entirely serious. It's social commentary.

If it were not anal (and even then), I cannot foresee myself caring if only because of societal expectations. I'm tired of this dodging bullshit.

There are multiple guys who actually have been raped and don't care, and I will repeat that the law reflects this accordingly. I'm not asking to be raped, at all. I would prefer to choose. However as it is now, I do not see myself shaking or traumatized or anything like that.

Seriously, if you think I'm wrong, explain it. This "lol, really" bullshit makes you look ignorant as fuck. I damn well know that the view I'm giving is unconventional here. But unless you're going to actually respond, so both sides can actually learn, your posts are literally worthless.

There is a huge societal difference and expectation. There are people on this very site who've had sex at a much younger age and are fine with it. Lil Wayne has joked about his own rape. An article noted that some guy (1/10, I understand) didn't care that he was raped:

http://blogs.app.com/saywhat/2009/06/19/woman-on-trial-for-raping-10-men/

I know you guys hate the "what it is to be a man" shit we see everywhere (beer commercials, Slim Jim commercials, etc.), but it's goddamn time that you acknowledge that these things exist. There is a huge cultural meaning behind what a man should be like, and that affects men. This is the very same reason domestic violence isn't reported by men. I know you all like to see yourselves as a reasonable bunch disconnected from all that, but this is reality.

I cannot be one of the people who complains that men are discriminated against when it comes to rape when our own culture mitigates that for many of the men who end up in the news. It may very well be a problem, but that's something to discuss. Instead it seems like many of you think you live in a perfect world and get to judge everyone from above.

Either try and discuss this or don't respond, please.

Every word you've said can be discredited with the following phrase: how you act and how you feel are not necessarily identical.

I'm aware of this fact. But if you want to know why it would seem that men don't care, and why it seems that the law doesn't give it as much weight as female rape, then it's worth discussing.

Also why there's such a relative lack of women saying the same things that I've given an example of above.

If I was 15 and a hot teacher came onto me, I would probably have jumped on it. It would have been wrong, and I'd still consider that statutory rape, but being a 15 year old male it probably wouldn't matter to me. Of course there are issues youth will have later on in their lives when exposed to sex too early. That kid will probably never have a healthy understanding of sex, and I can empathize with that.

As far as this 15 year old kid is concerned in what he did, the story makes him sound like an asshole. Referring to her by name to his little brother, and telling her to speak up? He just blew the lid off the entire situation. The little brother probably didn't recognize who was in bed with the older brother, until he got a name and voice to associate with her. "Hey, I know who your are now!" That 15 year old must have been a real idiot to expose it all so easily.

While that doesn't excuse the teacher of her crime, I feel the boy should get some discipline himself for being part of the problem. He'll eventually realize he wasn't truly in love with her and that would he did was a huge mistake, and that's when he should take responsibility for being such a dummy by getting into that situation.

Apple computers? I said GD.

True story. My 8th grade computer teacher was showing slides to his students, and there was a slide with him naked, and cats lying on him.

True story. My school had just gotten dial-up for every computer in the computer lab, we were getting shown how to connect to the interwebs (lol, like we didn't know already), and the presenter says "The internet is a great place. You can visit all sort of amazing places. For example: lets say we want to learn more about the White House...."

...yea, he went to the OTHER whitehouse website(now defunct)

I've never seen anyone more embarrassed in my entire life

ITT if the guy had been 17 and 1 day away from turning 18 it'd be RAAAPPPEEE she will go for 9 year olds next, the next day it's all good.

Uh. You do know that men don't report domestic violence because they know they will be laughed at? Not because they don't feel hurt.
The same may well be true about rape. And not giving it as much credibility as female rape is just stupid. There are still men who will be traumatized by rape as much as females, especially if the female rapist is ugly, fat or in any other way disgusting.
Just because some men (reportedly) don't care doesn't mean this should apply to all men.

Edit: Highly relevant: many, many women have rape fantasies. But not one woman enjoyed being raped. Something to consider for all the "I'd like being raped" folks.
