Finally got around to opening Lumines today. God damn I forgot what a great game it is. The visuals in this one are crazy.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of taking a screenshot about 40-ish? minutes into a game. It freezes the controls for about 4 seconds, causing me to lose. Wonderful.

Europe is handled by SCEE and america by SCEA. it's 2 different branches handing the stuff.
to scee's credit, all europe stores have the same layout.

And then theres SCEJ that handles all of asia iirc

I know that, but they can at least keep the UI consistent. What's the point of not doing that? Seriously?

Yeah, that happens with all screenshots. Its frustrating as it is to hit the home button and start at the same time during gameplay, but then it locks the controls while its saving :(

Weirdly enough, you still have control sometimes after taking a screenshot in Shinobido 2.

O.k. Well Taco Bell failed me again...so I think I'm just gonna say fuck it and go get one tonight...

What's everyone's opinion on the best game to get right away? I can't go nutty and pick up everything so I want something that will be an enjoyable first title.

I'll be getting stardust, so can cross that off your list :)

If Thrustmaster don't ship my fucking VIP case tomorrow, I will shit fire. My method of portability this past weekend was wrapping the entire unit in layers of bubble wrap and then putting it back in the original box, and then that in my bag. FUCCKKKK~

Also I have launch fever bad. Succumbed to nabbing Lumines on PSN just now. Eyeing up Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Virtua Tennis, and more. Still have yet to play Uncharted because LoveFilm still seem stuck on ever sending it out to me and I'll be damned if I'm paying £35 for a game in The Land of Swift Bomba Pricing that is the UK.

This, all of it, haha.

Got a Thrustmaster case on order although mine's coming from Amazon so is quite easily to deal with should it be delayed again or whatever. Really hope it's not as it looks like the best case option by a stretch to me and I need a place to store my Vita even at home fast really.

As for games, I picked up 5 retail games and 2 PSN games at launch and still feel like I want more. I still want Ridge Racer despite Scamco LOL and I also wouldn't mind checking out Virtua Tennis 4 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Hoping we start seeing some bomba pricing in a week or two.

It depends on your taste. For me, I love the Uncharted series so Golden Abyss was a given, but Lumines if you like puzzle games, UMvC3 if you like fighters, Rayman if you want one of the best platformers this gen and Wipeout if you like racing games. I've also heard great things about Hot Shots Golf and Ninja Gaiden but dont own those.

Im on the fence about Virtua Tennis 4... is the online decent/good? I was reading some comments about it and it seems that few people are experiencing issues during matches

Man, I still keep getting more and more people on Near. Now I'm at 97 people found just 2 minutes ago. Yesterday I was at around 91, the day before , 81...

Also, I'm loving Everybody's Golf :)

What I want now is for the Japanese PSN to update and put Escape Plan out there. I wanna play it :(

Yeah I should have expanded on that, lol

I do love me some uncharted, and I already own Rayman...is the load time In Wipeout as painful as it's made out to be?

I'm debating getting some Dre HD Solo Beats because the cord on my current set of headphones is ridiculous. What do you guys think? Should I get something else?

Wipeout is pure sex on this thing. I am quickly becoming obsessed with it.

FINALLY got one yesterday.

Best hand held ever imo.

Part of the reason I like it so much is kinda sad though. It's like a graveyard of PSP games sent to die. All those games that flopped due to piracy and shitty ass controls.

The vita makes most of them look better, load faster, AND control better though! :D

That right analog to control the fucking camera works wonders. I'm sorely tempted to pick up Unite again...but I heard they were going to release another more optimized version?

I just picked up 3rd birthday before knowing how to change the settings. Looked ugly and couldn't control shit. Once I found out you have touch and the screen to enter settings and I fiddled with it again, the game was so much better.

Now I REALLY wish they would expand that PSP library since the games are already out there. And I REALLY hope they get PSOne compatibility soon.

What are people's thoughts on screen protectors?

Never used them before. They always look really fiddly to apply and I worry about a loss of screen responsiveness or making the system ugly by essentially putting stickers allover it (even though they're clear, I'll still know).

I fucking love this system naked but I do shit myself about screen scratches and even dust irritates me. Does a protector make the dust issue easier to manage?

What's the best one to grab at the moment? Hori? Thinking of adding one to my Thrustmaster case order.

NOPE, not at all. Its like a 30 second load time now after patching it seems and its not like you're constantly loading between screens or anything, only before races. I click the race, put down my Vita for a second to check GAF and boom its loaded up.

I am usually a screen protector whore but I didnt get one for my Vita...the screen is too nice to cover IMO. I just keep a small microfiber cloth with it in the case and wipe it after I use it. Screen protectors are nice if you actually get them on PERFECTLY but if you get any dust on it or a bubble it will bother you for ETERNITY. Going by this thread the hori are good ones but the best in the business are Zagg IMO. They are lifetime guaranteed and they are scratch resistant as well.

the hori glossy screen protector is really good. it applies very easy if you can figure out what the image is showing. You can pretty much get a good clean no bubble protection with it.

this is the one i got.

The Hori one is kind of a pain in the ass to get on perfectly

Pretty much the same here. They are a little longer than they should be, but personally it doesn't bother me. If I'm at home, I'll just take a peek at GAF while I wait. It would probably bother me if reloads took that long, but thankfully it's just the one load before the race that takes awhile.

The CAD MH310'S and don't look back. Normally 100 MSRP. The sound of the boost pads in Wipeout is almost haunting. Best studio headphones I've ever owned.

Hosting that KZ Liberation game now. Will only sit in here for about 5 minutes and then bounce.

I went with the HORI and thought it was very easy to apply. The instructions are a bit unclear but there's a youtube video that makes it pretty easy to understand. Just make sure you put enough pressure on it while pulling out the sheet or it may shift a bit.

Excellent news, then it'll be in my shopping cart. Thanks :)

worth the 30$?

The Story mode is short, and then you got Survival and Time Attack. The Online is VERY basic as well with just normal fights against random opponents or friends. You can play with AR, your own fighters, see each others picture and download others characters.

The move lists are short, there's no fancy systems, though it comes with weapons, grabs, while each leg and arm is mapped to a button like Tekken. It got fancy styles like ballet, zombie to the more traditional of Kung Fu and Muay Thai.

If its worth the $30? That's surely up to the individual. The only thing that can hold onto you is the customization but I don't think it'll last for long even though. Buy a PSP fighter instead. It's not bad by any means, it's average and I have had fun with it.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Fuck. Lumines. What have I done. Three hours. Fuck! My eyes! Dolphins jumping in the background, what sounds like Rihanna samples, my thumb reminding me I am flesh and blood. Jesus christ. FENTON.

Wipeout loading times are 30-40 seconds per event. If you restart an event, the loading is quick. Haven't timed it, but it's only a few seconds.

UMvC3 has some hefty loading when the game first boots, but once you're in the game, the loading invisible to you as it's hidden behind the end of round screens, like the PS3/360 versions.

Hot Shots Golf takes a little while to boot up, but again, once in the game, the loading is hidden from the player.
