For some reason when I link my vita to my pc it is not recognizing it anymore and it saying I need to install content manager, which I already have...

I must admit I detest this crap content manager interface compared the usb simplicity of the psp...I feel the psvita is actually less user friendly than the psp was...very annoying

Do people think that eventually we will be able to use the browser while playing games? I don't regret getting 3G but I wish I could browse a website then switch back to my game without cancelling it.

Seems weird considering we can access the browser from twitter while having a game open.

I only have money for one launch-game. So tell me, GAF, WipEout or Uncharted? I love both franchises, so I'm really bad at making this decision without help.

Buy a physical copy of Uncharted, beat it, sell or trade it for $35.99 and get Wipeout digitally.

Yup, or just give it to some one who needs it. My 4 gb is still in the packaging. When gamestop lowballs me like that I'd rather just let it collect dust.

I actually ended up getting two 4GB (because of the free amazon deal) and I ended up returning one of them for a PSN card. Hmm..might consider ebay then. But i'm thinking of holding out until a memory card pricedrop/deal

Yes. Sony said they will release a patch to allow switching between web browser and game without quiting either one.

In fact you can do that already if you launch a link from the Twitter app. It won't close the game.

I heard that it's supposed to show on the store tomorrow. If you already downloaded it before it was taken down, you can go into your download list and get it.

If you have already downloaded it, the FaceBook app should remain in your Home screen. There is no need to redownload. The issue was on the server side.

I agree !

I hope Sony improve the CMA and Vita Content Manager quickly.

Anyone else think there's an inherent problem in requiring precise rear-touch pin-point touching since you ummm can't see where your hands are because they are behind the screen? When I touch with the rear pad it never shows up as being where I thought my fingers are.

I think in general rear touchpad usage needs to be more general and open like LEFT SIDE TOUCH, RIGHT SIDE TOUCH.

I'm playing Escape Plan and I think the use of the rear touch is very creative, tapping things in the rear to move them toward you and pushing them on the front touch pad to move them back. However, to get 3 stars on levels you need to use as few touches as possible and it's kind of hard to do that with rear touching since you never know exactly where your finger is in relation to registering on the screen. I think one way around this is if the software could figure out the shape of your hand from how you are holding the rear touch screen and show a transparent shadow on the screen that represents your fingers against the rear touchpad.

But yeah, I think they need to have HUGE hitboxes for registering rear touch because of the pin-point accuracy problem. Playing little deviants with the rolling around drove me crazy.

The best generic use for the rear touchpad is to replace R2/L2 buttons and just have them be used for pressing one half or the other. It works extremely well for Fifa though when aiming shots, its just difficult for me not to touch the back.

I wasn't sure if there was a Unit 13 thread, but I was just wondering - did they patch the earlier demo, or do I need to delete it and redownload it?

Can you show me where Sony said that as I've not seen it.

The reason you can use it via twitter is that it has access to less memory. If you try and load a heavy site it asks you to close the game down which it doesn't do if you don't have a game open in the first place.

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
did something need to be patched? i haven't played it that much.

I heard quite a few people had problems with it. I had the sound cut out a few minutes in and couldn't get it back without a restart, I assume. I dunno, didn't bother restarting it.

Yeah I should have expanded on that, lol

I do love me some uncharted, and I already own Rayman...is the load time In Wipeout as painful as it's made out to be?

Just know going in the initial load and first time you load into a race its going to be ridiculous, its fairly quick to replay the same race after that if you are trying to get better and better times over and over.

How do you guys have your hands for Wipeout? I'm going down the traditional 'Wipeout config, no assists' route, only it's difficult to press square and circle without taking my foot off the gas.

Just a case of spreading my thumb out? It would've been nice to have weapons on the back touch or something.

Yes, Shuhei mentioned that the web browser will use less memory if a game (or another app ?) is running.

The note came from a ImpressWatch interview article:
http://andriasang.com/comz6e/vita_browser/

But it is also possible for Sony to drop the idea after more work. ^_^

My hands are on the touchpad just when I hold the Vita since they're pretty large but I like your idea and I'm sure that's how we'll see it implemented in the future. Right now, it's still in gimmick stage where games feel the need to use it to showcase the system but eventually that will wear off and it will have practical uses like R2/L2 etc. and some minor motions to do specific things. Really though, I think it will just come in time where we feel comfortable and know where are hands are on the touchpad just because we'll get used to it.

I do like it in FIFA though. Great implementation, especially when it comes down to penalty kicks.

I'm debating getting some Dre HD Solo Beats because the cord on my current set of headphones is ridiculous. What do you guys think? Should I get something else?

Wipeout is pure sex on this thing. I am quickly becoming obsessed with it.

Only buy the HD Solo's if you value bass above everything else. We have a pretty comprehensive headphone buyer's guide right here on Gaf that I used to good purpose just this week. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=417447 Some great suggestions in there. I ended up going with a pair of ASG-1's which are the in ear type (IEMs) but it sounds like you might be looking for a pair of actual headphones. Happy browsing!

Yeah, and I can't really find any info about it unfortunately.

I've never owned a Sony portable before, so I want to download a couple of PSP games. I made a list of games I'm interested in -- could you guys help me narrow it down to maybe 1 or 2 I should start with?

Corpse Party (would I enjoy this if I like text adventures like 999 and Phoenix Wright?)
Crush
Half-Minute Hero
Patapon 2
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (does this play at all like Fire Emblem?)
Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins (is this as difficult as the earlier games?)
The 3rd Birthday

Thanks guys!

Edit - Is the DLC pack for Super Stardust Delta worth buying, or should I just get the regular game for 10 bucks?

Definitely get Crush since I think it is still $5. I have heard great things about Tactics Ogre, its a lot like Final Fantasy Tactics. Also you may want to look at Ys Seven, i have never played it but it looks like a great action rpg and is highly regarded here.

That is strange regarding the Unit 13 demo. I just downloaded the demo and finished the first mission, and my PS Vita was fine. No lock up, or loss of audio. :D
