Halo 4 Interview With Footage, Probably No Beta [Up: Official Making Of Video]

I'm wondering why they didn't show the more expansive, natural environments. That's where Halo shines visually. They had an awesome desert setting that was completed obscured by the aggressive DoF effect.

Comics, serious business!
no like Reach MP?

Marcus Fenix, Call of Duty soldiers, Battlefield soldiers, and all Unreal characters have no problem sprinting.

Yet a genetically engineered dude with a super suit can't sprint. A Spartan should be able to sprint for infinity.

Health looks to be like that of Halo 3. Loving the colour, looks vibrant, and the audio is awesome. Can't wait for this. Oh man!!!!

Ugh, they should have released a proper trailer. And please 343i implement some sort of FXAA in the final game.

Can't say I like any of the Spartan designs but it looks nice overall, really want to see those outdoor environments without the excessive depth of field as the human industrial look has never done much for me in Halo.

The Shield World map looks brilliant, really like the setting with that map. I hope we get to see a BTB/Outside map though.

- There are still core elements from the other Halos in the engine, but things like graphics, rendering, lighting and audio are radically overhauled or rewritten
- The engine is heavily modified, but still "feels" like Halo

- Noticable punchier sound effects thanks to the audio director Sotaro Tojima (worked on MGS for example; Konami)
- New composer for the music

- Battle Rifle with three shot burst is back!
- There will be one shot weapons like the DMR
- New and old weapons (probably Halo 1 pistole), new vehicles and new sandbox elements
- "The biggest overhaul" Halo has seen for a long time

- Two new maps:
-> Wraparound: A Forerunner power facility in the skies; cool Forerunner architecture
-> Warhouse: a more "human" map; an industrial facility where a Cyclops MK2 is being built

- Faster, more intense, more visceral than before
- Multiplayer beta is being described as an huge interruption in the process of polishing the game, so probably now beta..
- Release: Holidays 2012 for Xbox 360 absolutely

It was actually Alan Wake inside the armour.

I like how they talked about how you should FEEL that you are this powerful supersoldier, and I hope they can make good on that promise. In previous games, the only way I really felt like one was that I could take a lot more damage than the other characters.

Lots of interesting stuff, but the best is the return of the BR. Burst fire rather than bloom, 2x zoom rather than 3x.

It looks like Halo, and so far looks like it will play like Halo. Color me delighted.

The audio overhaul is fantastic. Really packs a punch; I'm so used to hearing all these audio capture sessions with amazing sound and then the game sounds nothing like it. This time around, it actually sounds like the audio previews.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
A lot of focus has gone into giving players a better sense of weight.

This probably excites me the most. If nothing else, this is what Killzone 2 brought to the genre, and a lot of other FPS have felt like camera's skidding around on ice ever since. You bring the weight, you evoke the power.

Looks like a solid, top-tier graphical entry in the current console generation. The make or break will be if the framerate can hold steady. I kinda wish they had held this back for next gen, though.
Since it's an announced trilogy it doesn't matter. We still get 2 more Halos next gen. This way we have a new one to hold us over.
