Sony making new announcements at GDC

Combovers don't work when there is no hair
Very interesting!

Maybe it's a prequel with Zeus as main character, at the time of the war against the Titans.
And the next cover of PSM France hints at the ligthnings..

That would be awesome if the entire game was as the first great battle in God of War 3!

rumeurinfamous3ps3.jpg

Sounds plausible. Could you imagine the mindblowing boss battles if every boss was a Titan?

I don't think GDC is the proper venue for that. Vita just launched in the west, has somewhat solid lineup all the way till E3. Announcements will come there.

It does have a very solid lineup but unfortunately not one that is selling systems, they need announcements to generate interest fast.

Jak 4, God of War IV, Syphon Filter 4, Little Big Planet Karting, Sony Smash Bros, and Quantic Dreams new game announcements please. Oh and gameplay for The Last of Us and Sly 4. Couldn't hurt to have some first party studios (Sony Santa Monica, Guerrilla Games etc.) new IP announcements......

And if Sony is feeling really nice, maybe we can get some Agent and The Last Guardian gameplay.

Ahahahaha. It´s GDC dude. Don´t get your hopes up.

why not, what the Last Guardian attempting to do is pretty unique in video game development scene. trying to create believable giant animal AI that you interact with and evolve over time is surely a topic that deserve a panel in GDC.

or at the very least, they can show the behind the scene development of that game to show what NOT to do so you don't get into The Last Guardian development hell. :p

Did Yoshida not say that the development is slow and it´s not playable yet? I remember him saying that.

That post was really me pouring all of my hopes and dreams into digital form, so yeah, it probably won't happen, but a man can dream.

typically people expect E3 like announcements, then list 10 games that they want to see....
Seriously same crap every year, do people ever learn?
Maybe we get one solid announcement, like GOW4. But to expect multiple reveals, ridiculous.

I would think the Ratchet HD collection would be almost guaranteed to happen, given the leaks that happened yesterday. The date was listed as May too so this would seem the most likely place to announce it since it comes out before E3.

If we get that and a God of War 4 announcement (without co-op of course), then I'll be satisfied.

Why is "The Last of Us" getting so much hype? It looks like the final quarter of Uncharted to me. Is there some info on how they plan on approaching the genre differently than capcom and others?

And before someone responds with some "HOW DARE YOU!!" bull shit, I'm honestly asking this and in no way am saying the game likely won't be really good.

Hmmm? What does this mean?
This is what is says:

GDC Vault Recording: Video Recorded
Description: This session reveals the implementation details of some of the techniques developed by the PC demogroup Fairlight to render advanced visual effects that are usually only seen in offline rendering, but are possible in realtime and suitable for DirectX11 powered games. We reveal how huge dynamic procedural scenes, large and detailed fluid dynamics simulation and rendering and realtime raytraced illumination can be created on the GPU using DirectX11. The session focuses on ways to implement important building-block techniques such as efficient procedural mesh generation utilising DirectX11's feature set.

Takeaway: The session will provide attendees with an overview of the key features of DirectX11 for creating visual effects and some in-depth implementation details of some advanced effects in practice.
Intended Audience: This session is aimed at experienced graphics coders interested in or already using DirectX11, or anyone looking for some inspiration for their next generation visual effects.
Eligible Passes: All Access Pass, Main Conference Pass

I assume they with Fairlight refer to http://www.fairlight.to/. If so, this could be really interesting, just look at their work.

Whoever made that teaser probably isn't far off from the concept out GOW IV. If they are going to do online/offline co-op, it'll be Kratos and Deimos.

They need announcements at GDC for after E3 until the rest of the year. You don't announce games at E3 that are coming out in the next 6 months.

Pretty fake, when the game is actually revealed I think the teaser will be at least be CG or in engine, not just talking over pictures. Also, that logo looks odd.

If the next GoW involves Zeus, I bet he gets killed at some point in the game, probably the beginning, and then gets sent to hell, and then, like, has to climb out of hell. Man, I hope that's what happens. That would be so epic.
