all my follow up sessions were basically a lady putting my details into a database that no one would ever read, then she would turn the screen in my direction and ask me to choose a job to apply to. I bet everyone of they jobs had hundreds of people applying to it.. hopeless situation.
I'm glad i stepped up and got a job on my own two feet.

Good news everyone!
I've been miserable in my job since I started at this new company, and have wanted to leave but obviously it doesn't look very good leaving a company not long after starting, but everytime I've tried contacting agencies I've not heard back or there's been nothing out there.
This morning two people forwarded my details to people they knew at agencies and I'm meeting one in less than an hour and the other is forwarding my CV to a company recruiting for a much better paid, and better in general job.
Obviously it's only leads at this stage and nothing concrete, but how's that for a stroke of luck!

i call it yell.com and phoning companies who don't usually advertise jobs on sites ect.

yea, never saw the point of going to the job centre tbh. I'd rather just throw my CV at random agencies/jobs/uni/websites and see how far that gets me.

When you have a boss that doesn't train you properly, yet still expects you to know stuff about a field you've never been in, coupled with employees who don't like the fact they're taking orders from someone younger than themselves...
It all adds up to you just feeling like the most useless, incompetent waste of space ever. My low point was staying behind by myself after the shop was shut, just trying to get as much work done as possible so I didn't feel so useless. Just ended up sinking to my knees and sobbing.
The impact that whole ordeal had on my self confidence was huge. It has taken me quite a few months and successful placements to gain the perspective that it wasn't my fault and I am, in fact, a capable person who people should hire.

Well I was the assistant manager, so I felt like it was all my fault. It really wasn't, but I didn't believe that at the time.

damn, that's rough. glad to hear that you overcame that ordeal. I was sort of in the same situation last year (old manager was retiring and didn't give a damn about the new recruits he hired. New manager started this year and he is great. Things are improving) and it turned me into this complaining miserable angry asshole who took it out on everyone around him. I eventually learned to calm myself down and only start caring about the people and things that matter to me.

Pretty much this, and also being accused of doing something wrong when you haven't, with no apology even when you prove you've done it right. Being spoken to like you're a piece of shit. Working really hard to complete a project for the client, and your boss taking all the credit. Checking up on every single piece of work you do just to find a mistake. I could go on. And this is why I am looking for another job.
The meeting with the agency guy went really well, he said he's going to try and find me something more suitable, more systems based, so it may not be immediately but he'd rather get me the right job than just another job. Nice guy.
To be fair, I ONLY exist in digital format. PSO2 - you will be there yes?
